My wife and I have recently acquired baby piggies at 3 weeks old. Having struggles but sparing no expense for them. My wife is incredible with making sure they have daily, clean, fresh veggies. And I have been having a blast hand feeding them snacks and playing with them. Thank you for all your videos and adorable babies. Your a very beautiful soul and your love shines through. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and allowing us to join your herd ❤. Thank you from me and the wife. And from Harvey and Penelope. ❤
I got a solo Boar I got from a petshop that I just couldnt leave him in the conditions he was in, he was alone separated in a tiny cage with no hide aways and just abit of grey looking hay and woodchips. Their reason for him being alone is that he was fighting so they split them up. he has bite scars on the ears so I was always skeptical that he was the aggresive one and if he was it was down to the small amount of space and bad care. So same day I built him a cage like yours and he was over the moon with the space the fresh green hay daily veg treats and all the hug time he wanted. I ended up getting a 16week old boar a month later for him since he did seem to respond alot to guinea pig noises from videos like yours. it was a tense few hours of just putting them in and letting them get on with it where after all the running, grumbling, and chasing they ended up sleeping togueder and since that day i can not take the little one out with out the big one crying/squeeking for him, its like he feels he is going to be alone again. so they have to come out togueder for hugs and run time.
Thank you Sarah for another wonderful video. Hope you can do more floor time videos. Watching the piggies getting up to all kinds of trouble just makes my day especially on the days when I need to wind down from a busy day or just needing a pick me up . Again, really appreciate all that you do for the piggies. Hope you have a nice day and get to do some extra cuddling with the girls. Andrea
Another day, another video! I missed you after a whole 2 weeks 😔. And Q&A videos are really helpful for future owners. Hope you had a good time in europe! Also why Is Callie getting so big 😭❤️❤️ I remember in August her being so small and shy 🤭. Still upsets me not seeing that fluffy little guy 😔 I hope you get another peruvian boar. He was so funny and cute. Say hello to the girls from me! ~Beatrise
Wow, soon it will be three years since you came back to TH-cam! I'm glad that you took this step and enrich our lifes with your (piggie-) content 😊 Thank you! 🤗
Just got my piggy a huge cage lots of toys and little homes to hide in. He took to his ramp like a pro and loves the loft. He has done zoomies and popcorning of course, but mainly on our laps and during floor time. The first night he went CRAZY. The zoomies were nuts. He had me laughing so hard. I've saved some money because I work in a grocery store and the people in produce save things for me. My little guy LOVES celery leaves. So when they trim the celery for the shelf they save the leaves for me. Same with lettuce. Everyone at work knows me kids and all my furbabies. There's days I get someone saying "I look for your posts and pic's." "They put a smile on my face."
questions •can i use barn hay? •do i have to use a bottle for drinking or can i use a bowl? •how long do piggies usually life for? •what do you feed them and how often •how often do you clean the cage? •do piggies just use the restroom where ever they are,or do they use the litter?
If the barn hay is clean then yes but a good hay is oxbow Timothy hay. You can use either just water bowl is more likely to be contaminated or spillable. Piggies will usually live up to 6 to 8 years. One pellet you can use is oxbow brand and usually fill it up once a day. I’ve only used fleece so I can’t really talk for other bedding but usually once a week for the big fleece because I also have little fleece pads where they poop and pee the most and they need switched out every four days. Daily sweeping of the cage helps too. They poop everywhere but if you do get a hay litter they’ll mostly do it in there and hiding spots. There will probably be some spare turds a bit everywhere though 😂
How long can guinea pigs stay alone? I went on a 2-week vacation and I loaded up my 2-pig cage with 4 large water bottles and big food hoppers. I returned two weeks later and they still had a few days worth of food and water. They sure wanted snacks and attention, though.
So good to see you and the piggies again. As much as I would love to see a new piggie, take your time and get the piggie you want when you want. Looking forward to the eventual announcement of a new little one joining the herd!
Sarah, wonderful video as always. Loved seeing the beautiful pictures from your trip. Love, love, love the bedding you made! So beautiful and you are so talented. You are an amazing person and we all love you. You are such a great piggy mom. They are so lucky to have you and your boyfriend! Someone said your love shines from your inside to your outside. So true! You can see your inner beauty to your outer beauty because your such a good person!!!Enjoy your day and the piggies!! Looking forward to seeing your next boar. So excited 🤗🤗🤗 Love and miss Lyra and Pedro and my Teddy. I would love to get more Guinea pigs but I’m too old 😢to get more Guinea pigs.❤
Your trip looked really cool, thanks for sharing about it! Looking forward to eventual long haired fella joining the group 💗 btw if anyone else is in the US and looking for hay recommendations I switched my rabbits to The Rabbit Hole hay in November and it's definitely the best I've seen, much better quality and more consistent quality than Small Pet Select. Also more expensive but worth it
Hi Sarah,I am a big fan of yours, and I just wanted to say that you are an amaizing person and I will support you no matter what, everytime you post a video I get super excited to see you and the piggies!Hope this message Made your day!Love from Elisa(Me)!♡ still missing little Pedro and Lyra!😣
I am so appreciative of your videos. As a first time piggie owner I have made most mistakes that you have covered including an impulse pet store cage buy. I went back to the same store and bought a male that was in with my male hoping they would get along. Their names are Max and Nibbles btw. I just love them so much already. I am still a bit nervous handling them but will get better. They are very friendly. They went through the teeth chattering, mounting and rumble strutting and do fight a bit over their daily fresh hay so I usually place some in a second spot now which helps greatly along with 2 dishes and 2 water bottles as well. My C&C cage comes on Saturday and also 2 Guinea Dad liners so these boys will be super happy! I can’t wait to set the cage up for them! Neither would eat veggies when I got them until they were comfortable with us. Now both of my kids ages 4 & 6 hand feed them Romaine lettuce which they each get a piece morning and night and they wheek for it and their hay and every time I clean their cage- they just love me there talking to them and cleaning the cage or maybe they want more lettuce or cucumbers lol. Super cute. The biggest question I have is one of my piggies seems to have darker urine? Or is this indicative of needing a Boar cleaning? They were kept on the shredded paper type bedding at the pet store which I have done away with and have been using fleece baby blankets and burp pads and washing them after 3 days but spot clean 2x/day. All of the poops looks the same size and consistency from both boys so I am assuming it is urine. I was considering contacting a nearby rescue and asking them about it and about local vets. I’m sure they have lots of knowledge and do nail trims and Guinea pig pet sitting so sounds like good people to know. If you have a moment to address the urine issue I sure would appreciate it(or any viewers with a similar experience). Thank you so much again for all of your videos! You have taught me so much! ~ Char 😊❤
Your videos are so helpful! Also I had someone full on argue with me that I was Australian on a TH-cam video once and also that my dog was an Australian Shepard and not a border collie 😅 me and my dog had a bit of an identity crisis after that!! Thanks for all the lovely videos Sarah 😊
if you're not creeped out by crawlies, certain insects make great first pets. depending on the kind, you can have a setup that's easy to take care of and a cute (albeit not quite cuddly) little friend to brighten your life
Your videos are amazing, I just recently was able to find a friend for my boy and the bonding went very well. It took almost a year to find one as I was wanting to adopt not shop and where I am there r just not a ton if piggies needing new homes.
Hi Sarah. Yorkshire, huh? That's cool! I'm American, but some of my heritage is from the British Isles, including Ireland and Wales. I'm glad you had a good time on vacation. I just want to say thank you for sharing your piggies with everyone. It's the next best thing to having them myself. Roxie reminds me so much of my childhood piggy Mindy. Chonky Abbysinian with son Peruvian, and boy could she squeak down the house of lettuce was in the offing! Thank you so much Sarah!!!🥰❤️
Welcome back, Sarah, it was good to see a new video. It was very informative and entertaining. So glad you enjoyed your vacation (or "holiday" as you Brits would say). Really like the highlights in your hair, very becoming.
So glad you had a nice vacation I’m sure your Piggies missed you 😊 You are lucky you have a good support system for when you go away etc. Loved this video your so knowledgeable and it’s appreciated 💞
Helping guinea pigs in heat: make them too tired to fight by encouraging them to exercise. Chew toys. Extra petting (they're often upset and need comforting). Taking them and their friends out in turns. Setting the friend up in a quiet space in the cage to prevent conflict.
Ah ha I wondered where you had been, your holiday looked fabulous and piggie Dad did a wonderful job..... PiggieNan takes over here when PiggieMum goes away 😉😁❤️ Some excellent questions and the answers were very helpful too. 😁 I hope to be in touch again soon as I'm dealing with some health issues right now 😔❤️
Loved this! Wil has just moved in so we can finally watch your videos together! Love the variety of questions and great to hear you enjoyed the travelling, we are excited to visit Copenhagen and Stockholm soon if possible. And keep well whilst you contemplate possible future additions to the herd - always an exciting prospect but watching those three ladies is so entertaining! x
it facinates me how in my herd of 8 when the ladies start yelling at each other you see their neutered male come running rumbles up between them and then chase someone off. he is a rather good leader of the herd and hes only a year old at this point all the ladies are atleast 2yrs old. And he had that down within a month of bonding into the group.
Now I was always an over-feeder to begin with, and I was always nervous to leave them to go to work, let alone on a trip. One time, my brother and I were going to drive to see my sister (I lived in Illinois, my bro in Michigan, and my sis in Indiana) overnight. I fed the pigs the equivalent of 3 meals of veggies, plenty of hay and pellets, water bottles all full (my herd was 6 at the time, I think). Well, on the way, we had a car mishap and were not going to be make it back for an extra day. I was frantic. My brother's best friend went to feed my piggies. He said as he went up the stairs to my apartment, he could hear insane wheeking (as if they had been left for a week or something - it had just been overnight). As he came in the apt, they were all begging, wheeking like crazy, practically trying to bust out of their houses! I wish I had video of this!
Pleased to see you back. On the subject of bonding girls. I have3 separate girls who just don't get on with my herd of girls. I adopted them from 3 different people and they had always lived alone before I adopted them. They are in 3 separate cages but next to the herd. They just weren't accustomed to other piggies. I tried to introduce them but it didn't work
I used to live in Selby many years ago and they thought I was Australian. I actually was born in Lincolnshire but then moved to Peterborough. I now live in spain
Fabulous video. Glad you had a nice holiday, sounds lovely. I have the same guinea bedding from asda and I said to my nice "it's not the best quality, but I don't care because it has piggies on it" 🤣
I love watching you piggies, thanks for the information, you are a lovely owner 😍. The piggies are lucky to have you. I hope to get my own piggies and have been researching online and on your channel about them. They are adorable, and I wondered which veggies you recommend the most? 🍅🥕🥦👍
Love you, Sarah! Another amazing video as usual 😉 I have a question for you as well. How do I convince my parents that I need to add a third guinea pig to the herd? I think that it would REALLY balance out dominance issues. And if you’re wondering, I am the full owner to my guinea pigs. I buy their hay, pellets, toys, hideys, liners, etc. My parents pay for veggies, vet visits and help out when I need it, but I do all of the cleaning and looking after. Lots of people think that teens shouldn’t care for Guinean pigs. But I am not like others.
Which video discusses your cage materials. It seems I would like to try that...? Currently in a large fish tank and want to update their living quarters.
Thank you for sharing about your holiday in Stockholm! I think your choice of activities was excellent! I've taken notes for any future guests from abroad. (Swedish tourists in Stockholm usually know what the want to do here, often shopping). And, I will finally actually go on one of these guided art tours that the metro company gives, and not be too lazy to go out into the archipelago this summer... ♡ /Sara in Stockholm
If you want a rodent like a Guinea pig, hamster, etc., I would say there’s probably no beginner but I’m a Fairly New Guinea pig owner so I have no idea. But if you’re looking for a beginner pet in general I would say leopard geckos are great. They poop and one spot and I have 2 that are easy to care for
Sarah can you please give me information on where you 🙏 got your piggy bedding. I would like to get a set. Thank you for your video. As always, it is another great one.
Sarah !!! Welcome back momma piggy..When we become piggy parents hoildays are not thesame and leaving them makes us feel guilty or not ? ...love thay tunnel !
I love all your videos! They are very helpful. I just got 2 new piggies for the first time. Porky (white with brown nose) is 8 months old, Brought her back for 3 weeks now. Porky seems lonely, but she got used to me now. Because of this, I got her a friend, name Bacon (Brown with brown nose), who is 6 months old, just 2 days ago. Both are Californian piggies. The previous breeding environment was quite bad, not sure if it's because of that, Bacon is very quiet and timid. I couldn't go near her at all. Tried feeding her food, but failed. Porky is not helpful at all, keep trying to make fun of Bacon, chasing her around. What can I do with Bacon? Perhaps need longer time to bond with her?
The comments on the bonding issue was very helpful. I may be guilty of not letting it go long enough but I'm so afraid if they are really fighting on how to administer first-aid. I cannot find a vet in my area so I intervein when a tussle begins. I have not put them back together for about a month but am going to try again. Sometimes, it goes really well and I'm hopeful. The next time they are agitated. Everyone is telling me it's because I have one neutered male and one in-tact male. What are your thoughts about neutering? (I do know his cage has much more odor to it!) BTW thank you for your videos. I rewatch them often. You are my "go to" and "how to" videos.
Hello I'm a big fan I have have 2 piggies One called chip (she is an abyssinian) And the other called Peanut (an American) I love your videos so much. Keep up the Good Work!
I am so glad that I saw this video. I have a big question. I live in Saudi Arabia, over here it is hard to find a vet that can fix my 2 male piggies 🐹 (you can believe what they say so of course my males are separated from my 3 girls. I even have the males separated from each other. My question is, would it be safe to put my 2 boys together in a big cage🤔??? Please keep the video coming I same them all. Plus, ,I think to get the 4th 🐹 find one like Pedro so you won't miss him as much🤗 Have a great day🥰🐹✨️✨️✨️
The best beginner pet has to be scorpions. Not for everyone but simple, easy care and not dangerous if you research the species and make sure it’s safe!
So I was giving our 9 month our piggies kale but recently our piggie vet said to stop kale…is Romain lettuce ok to give them? I’ve tried blueberries, blackberries, bananas, dried fruits and they don’t seem to like them, they like oranges and I do give them forage which they also love, what else can I try with them? Their 2 stubborn boys but they’d also my babies and I wanna feed them the best I can! We do give them Timothy hay all day everyday, fresh cold water, and if I don’t give them oranges I give them liquid vitamin C
Hii thank you so much for this video as it has helped me through a lot in regards to hay atm I am getting meadow hay from p@h and I think it does have dust in in and my piggies cough sometimes and I want to help them by getting the same hay you do but my mum says it is 3x the price and if I wanted to get it I should buy it. Pls can I have some advise? Thank you so much for your time. 😅
Boars _can_ be feisty. I now own a group of four and there has been a lot of teeth chattering and even bloody noses! Thankfully, they seem to have settled down now.
Should we neuter our 2 boy piggies? Before I knew about rescuing, we had already got our boys from our local pet shop! They did have their first vet visit and shots etc but not neutered
Hi . If I purchased guinea pigs at different times could I put them together in a cage without possibly fighting each other? Would they have issues adding another set of guinea pigs?
Hello, i love your videos. My piggy recently has gut problems and i wanted to ask you what to do since you are very experienced guinea pig owner. The vets i visit cant tell me anything useful.
Hi! I think that you can give some advice- I have seen different minimums on how big Guinea pig cages have to be…. What would be the minimum cage size for 5 Guinea pigs? (I don’t have 5 Guinea pigs but this answer is always varying.) ❤❤❤❤ thank you!
Hi, I have five female guinea pigs in a c and c cage that is 8 grids long and 2 grids wide. They all get along very well but I don’t think they would be happy in anything any smaller. They would love even more room .
Hi I use Wilko and excel pellets mixed, but I am finding it hard getting the Wilko ones so do you think I should just use the excel ones or find some other ones to mix with them, and if so which ones do you think I should try
Hey there, yes could be a good idea. The burgess are highly recommended and my vets recommend them. I also use the Science Selective grain free because they can be better for digestion and are also lower in calcium than burgess. 😊
Hey I’m a New Guinea pig mum my pigs cuddle together and share food and are for the most part very happy together but sometimes one of the does something that makes the other what squeal should I seperate them or is it just a sibling thing
You said you rescued guinea pigs. I want to start doing this. I have 2 guinea girls (rescued from the rescue centre) - where else do you look to rescue? is there a website that is good for rescuing?

You are the greatest piggie mom ever 🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹 Plus, I love your English accent 😉😉😉👍
Thank you! 😃🥰
I agree. I can't resist the accent ❤❤. I grew up in love with the BBC, from the eastern coast of U.S.
@Emorats_4life The accent is awesome!!!!

Cute!!!
Callie was having a lovely snooze in her bed while you were talking. Such a sweet little girl. x
She was indeed, she enjoys the super sleeps!
Andrea
Thank you Andrea for your lovely comment, I'm glad to hear the pigs help you unwind! More floortime, noted! 😃🥳
THANK YOU for making it clear there are no beginner pets!!
My question popped up for a second :D
This was very informative, and I think it will really help new owners! ♡︎
Thank you! 😃
~Beatrise
Thank you Beatrise I will do! Callie is getting bigger but her weight gain is slowing down, I think she'll be a smol girl 🥰
YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY I LOBE THE BLONDE!!!!!!!!
Wow, soon it will be three years since you came back to TH-cam!
I'm glad that you took this step and enrich our lifes with your (piggie-) content 😊
Thank you! 🤗
Awh lovely to see someone else jumping on the ASDA piggy train & getting the radish bedding - it's so cute 🥰
Stockholm is my city, I´m really super happy that you have been here and you did like it..

Same with lettuce.

Dear Sara, my daughter adores your guinea pigs and your videos. Thanks for doing this!
My first pet is my one and a half year old piggie, before we bought him my mom made a lot of research. I love my baby boy so much :3

He said as he went up the stairs to my apartment, he could hear insane wheeking (as if they had been left for a week or something - it had just been overnight). As he came in the apt, they were all begging, wheeking like crazy, practically trying to bust out of their houses! I wish I had video of this!
Hope you had a great holiday!!
My partner and I adopted two boy piggies two weeks ago and your videos have definitely helped so much!! ❤❤
Another amazing video as usual 😉
I have a question for you as well. How do I convince my parents that I need
to add a third guinea pig to the herd? I think that it would REALLY balance out
dominance issues. And if you’re wondering, I am the full owner to my guinea pigs.
I buy their hay, pellets, toys, hideys, liners, etc. My parents pay for veggies, vet visits and help
out when I need it, but I do all of the cleaning and looking after.
Lots of people think that teens shouldn’t care for Guinean pigs. But I am not like others.
Thanks again, Sarah. 💖
Can you do a video about how you should set up the cage where your guinea pig will live once you go them beacause if you did one I can't find it
hahaha we have that bedding too! 😂😂 and a Christmas version!
Which video discusses your cage materials. It seems I would like to try that...? Currently in a large fish tank and want to update their living quarters.
Love the new hair coloring!!!
Thank you!
Omgg Yessss I can’t wait for a new update
Awesome information
You looks great today 😍😍
I have just started watching my you and I really want my own two piggies!! But I am a younger follower!
I loved the backpack
Visit places in Jutland next time you get to Denmark!
If you want a rodent like a Guinea pig, hamster, etc., I would say there’s probably no beginner but I’m a Fairly New Guinea pig owner so I have no idea. But if you’re looking for a beginner pet in general I would say leopard geckos are great. They poop and one spot and I have 2 that are easy to care for
Hi Sarah. New guinea owner. New viewer, loving your videos. Where do you get their cuddle beds and pouches?
@SqueaksDreams Oh Wow!! Im from North Yorkshire, too 😊
I’m so excited to watch!!!❤😊
Sarah can you please give me information on where you 🙏 got your piggy bedding. I would like to get a set. Thank you for your video. As always, it is another great one.
❤
Sarah !!! Welcome back momma piggy..When we become piggy parents hoildays are not thesame and leaving them makes us feel guilty or not ? ...love thay tunnel !
Yes it does, but it's manageable if we know they're being looked after well and we get frequent updates ☺️
Great informative video, thank you 👍
The comments on the bonding issue was very helpful.
You look beautiful I must say! Your hair colour is so pretty. Great video
Hello I'm a big fan I have have 2 piggies One called chip (she is an abyssinian) And the other called Peanut (an American) I love your videos so much. Keep up the Good Work!
I hope ur piggies are feeling good u by having a super good owner
Is a 5, ft cage big enough for two girl piggies ? And your the best piggie mom ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plus, ,I think to get the 4th 🐹 find one like Pedro so you won't miss him as much🤗 Have a great day🥰🐹✨️✨️✨️
I love ur piggies
I'm going to get some guinea pigs stuff today🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹😍💓💖💗💙💚💛🧡💜
Omg I love my new Guinea pig this is my first baby and I'm so in love her name is Honey!!
The best beginner pet has to be scorpions. Not for everyone but simple, easy care and not dangerous if you research the species and make sure it’s safe!
I love your vids # Squeak Dreams is the best piggie Mom
18:46 Patrick Bateman moment.
I love the l shape cage it was dope
So cute
Boars _can_ be feisty. I now own a group of four and there has been a lot of teeth chattering and even bloody noses! Thankfully, they seem to have settled down now.
Should we neuter our 2 boy piggies? Before I knew about rescuing, we had already got our boys from our local pet shop! They did have their first vet visit and shots etc but not neutered
U have the best content
Hi . If I purchased guinea pigs at different times could I put them together in a cage without possibly fighting each other? Would they have issues adding another set of guinea pigs?
this was super helpful but what if they fight when you are at school or work and you don't see???
Good question?🤓🧐
is it ok to give guinea pigs shop fruts and some form the ganden
Hello, i love your videos. My piggy recently has gut problems and i wanted to ask you what to do since you are very experienced guinea pig owner. The vets i visit cant tell me anything useful.
Hey there, I have about 4 videos in the last couple of years about bloat and what to do when our piggies are off their food 😊
@@SqueakDreams Is it possible to feed piggies just hay? My piggy had no pellets for 2 weeks and he lost 200 grams. Is this ok?
I heard before that if u neuter sometimes they can die in the process tell me if this is true pls?
how often do they go to the vet
thanks im going to get one soon well 2
Hey I’m a New Guinea pig mum my pigs cuddle together and share food and are for the most part very happy together but sometimes one of the does something that makes the other what squeal should I seperate them or is it just a sibling thing
My two girls are the same. I thought this is just like bickering but I'm not sure.
I have a question, are you supposed to refill the pellets day and night or just one time a day?
Usually just once a day is enough, it's okay for the bowl to be empty some of the time, this encourages them to eat more hay 😊
@@SqueakDreams thank you soooo much! 😁
Cute
Do you have Ginny pig I get two tomorrow
I am making a ditty today
U aarree the best
You said you rescued guinea pigs. I want to start doing this. I have 2 guinea girls (rescued from the rescue centre) - where else do you look to rescue? is there a website that is good for rescuing?
how big should a cage be for 2 piggies
