Karen, you’ve inspired me to paint this beautiful landscape. Enjoyed watching the more in-depth tutorial on your patreon channel. Thanks. 💕
That's wonderful Connie! Thank you so much for joining Patreon!!
Ooooo....so beautiful. Love the flowers( so colorful) and the landscapes, wow.
I just enjoy your paintings. More, more! Lol

Karen thanks for sharing your skills in watercolour paints, enjoyed the video and helped to correct or achieve detail depth and colour in the picture. Thanks greatly appreciated stay safe and healthy
Thank you Philip, so pleased you found this tutorial, especially the detailing and depth. Take care :)
Beautiful work Karen. Love the way you built up the layers.
Thank you so much Jan :)
Really love the depth in this painting. Great method for building mountains and your 'rescue remedies' are especially helpful - thanks so much!
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks so much Karen. You make it look so easy and your commentary is really helpful. I have watched this several times and will try and copy it. I notice you have a very light touch with your brush, something I still have to learn, from an old man in Canada.
Glad it was helpful Charles in Canada! I think that light touch developed over the years. Mainly so I don't disturb the paint underneath! I hope you have fun painting it! :)
Thank you so much for your clear guidance on painting this lovely scene.
I have just completed it and could not have done it without your amazing video.
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing Jackie 😊

Thank you! Have fun!
Another great video Karen 😀 Still struggling to master watercolor but after trawling the internet I always come back to your tutorials for inspiration 😀👏
Thank you so much Joe, really pleased you find the tutorials inspirational...watercolour is all about practice, so try not to be too hard on yourself. Doodling in your sketchbook also helps a great deal 😀
@@KarenRiceArt Thanks Karen, I will keep trying but it might help my ego if you didn’t make it look so easy 😂😂
bonjour karen ,j'ai bien aimé ce tableau merci pour les détails..
Merci beaucoup :-)
The best wishes for 2021. I love your paintings in the sharing video's. Thank you very much.
Thank you! Happy new year to you!
Saw it on instagram. Lovely to watch. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
I don't know how you get such great results on Canson paper - just shows what a great artist you are. I cannot get great results with cellulose paper. I wish I could it would save me a lot of money - LOL
But thank you so much, as always, for such a great tutorial!!
Thank you for your comment, really pleased you like the tutorial. Sorry for any confusion, but I used Canson Heritage paper which is 100% cotton. I have updated the listing. I agree cellulose paper is tricky (I find working on a smaller scale helps when using it). I have found over the years, the best value and good quality watercolour paper (that I always recommend to my students) is Saunders Waterford 300g (all surfaces). I usually buy it in sheet form 15 x 11 (in bulk) to save money. I hope this was helpful! Good luck with your watercolours... have fun 😊
@@KarenRiceArt Thank you for that clarification. I use mainly Arches paper and love it but I might give the Canson Heritage 100% cotton paper a try too. And I'll also look into the Saunders Waterford paper. :)
@0%9F%98%80el/UCJ6vNOkf-3g6K75TCU5iClw Arches is such a great paper! Hope you get a chance to try the Canson Heritiage or Saunders :)
Love you're Art. You explain it very well.esey to understand. Thank you so much you have really incuriged me to have A go
That's wonderful! I am so pleased this has encouraged you to have a go!

Thank you so much Joyce!
Love this landscape Karen,,, this might just be the inspiration I need to stop painting Christmas trees, Santa's and snowmen... :)
Thank you Shirley! So pleased this tutorial has inspired you!

Lovely Karen. Great tips there. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year x
Thank you! You too!
Amazing like always is.
Thank you so much 😀
Lovely
Enjoyed watching your tutorial...great tips. Do you mind my asking what kind of brushes you use?
Thank you Diana... I use Black Velvet Brushes by Silver Brush. Here is a link: Round Size 2, 4, 6, 10 & 14 Black Velvet Brushes: www.jacksonsart.com/silver-brush-black-velvet-squirrel-risslon-brush-series-3000s-3007s-3008s-3009s-3012s-3014s-3025s 😊
Fabulous content on this channel -very informative and thoroughly enjoyable. I do have a question: your clouds give an illusion of a soft rain, a mist-like atmosphere, coming from the clouds. Was this created from a wet-on-wet application or by technical style? If by the latter, I am hoping you can explain what technique you used to create look. Thank you.
Thank you so much Joanne, it was through the wet in wet technique and a little tilting. Hope this was helpful 😀
Love this! And all of your tutorials I've seen so far. I'm wondering do you have to consider the use of gouache mixed media because of the " watercolor police" ?
Hi Laurie, so glad you are enjoying my tutorials, thank you! Thank you for your question. Years ago I was one of the watercolour police! I would not allow white, black, green or Paynes Grey in my lessons! Now I just go with the flow! How times have changed! If I were entering this into an exhibition I would say it was a watercolour with white gouache. Hope this was helpful :)
Great tips :)
Thanks for watching!
Lovely! I'll return to this one when I have a bit more experience. Absolute newbie here, oil painter for 50+ years! Never too old to start a new medium, right? Thanks for inspiring me to grow.
Thank you Jean! So pleased that this tutorial has inspired you and you are right, you are never too old to learn!!
If I am a beginner. Where do I get an old watercolour brush? Question for the philosophers.

This is so beautiful! I'm a Patreon member and don't see this on your Patreon page - am I missing something?
Thank you! It is currently being edited, and will be uploaded tomorrow :)
@@KarenRiceArt Fantastic, thank you!
I ordered a couple of the black velvet brushes since they get so many good reviews.. and I'm finding my size two is already shedding bristles after only three uses. Has anyone else had this issue? I was quite disappointed, I have Masters Choice (Hobby lobby store brand) brushes that hold up better.
I have the size 2 brush and it has been amazing! If your brush is shedding hairs, I would return it as it sounds faulty?
Karen, Looking at your various works, I saw a baby chick and I wanted to paint it. When I came back to find it, I couldn't find it anywhere. Can you help me find it.
