I have had my Corsair GT for 6 weeks now and am averaging 30 to 32 electric miles here in New Mexico. Your review is one of three that mention undesirable noise from the ICE engine when it kicks in - personally I don't find it that loud. I agree that Lincoln engineers have done a marvelous job creating a seamless transition between all electric and ICE engine modes. Because my job is only a 16 mile round trip and most of my routine errands are under 30 miles, my combined MPG is now up to 76 eMPG and still climbing! I initially put a down payment on a Volvo XC40 all electric, but when I read on an XC40 owner's blog that electric range could be as low as 165 miles in summer with AC or deep winter, I switched to the Corsair. With a full tank of gas and fully charged battery, I have a range of 344 miles! Iwant ready to contend with range anxiety. Also, the interior of the Volvo had a lot of plastic parts compared to the Lincoln, no ventilated seat options. So far I am delighted with the purchase.
We just bought our Lincoln Corsair GT about a month ago. The car seems to learn your driving habits as now I am able to get way more than 28 miles of fully electric. When we charge it’s typically showing at least 38 miles of electric. Gotten as high as 42 miles. We have the 24 way seats and find them to be extremely comfortable. The Revel sound system is really good. I am used to Sync 3 as my Ranger has it so I do not find it inconvenient to plug the phone in to get Waze. My prior car was a Ford Fusion Energi Fusion so I am used to the engine sound if you floor it. What’s a lot different is how fast you can go before the engine kicks in. The technology has greatly improved. I would definitely buy this vehicle again. The other cars you mentioned in your comparisons are all probably selling above MSRP. The Corsair is available below MSRP.
I just traded my 1st Mach-e in on a Corsair GT. I loved the test drive as did my gfriend. I still have a Mach-e awdxr for local driving. The Corsair GT reduces our long range driving anxiety to zero.
My wife has the 2016 MKX. 2.7 Very happy with it. If I had to fault it, I’d say it feels heavy and I notice blind spots when parking. I think cause the seat engulfs you which my make it difficult to turn your head when backing up etc. it’s like sitting in a drive forward seat only. I’m considering a Corsair for her for easy mobility and I’ll drive the 2.7 Turbo which has loads of get up and go at 340hp. I was disappointed to hear his report on road noise. I worked for a Ford dealer years ago and have always been a fan. Quite smooth ride is my main concern. The MKX is amazing, I must say. Think I’ll take the Corsair for a spin and decide. I’m also considering the Explorer but I think it’s to big for my needs. I need to tow boats etc and need power, but I don’t need excessive fuel consumption either. Wish me luck!
My 2022 Corsair GT shows the same instrument fields on Normal as you showed in Excite. You have the option to see what you want to see. The EPA range for the battery is 28 miles as you report, but I've gone 37 miles until the battery was expired. Liike miles per gallon it depends on temperature. speed, acceleration, and how you drive,
Chad, excellent writing, content, and editing. True gem in the EV review space. As for the Corsair PHEV, just wish it had more than 28 mile EV range. Test driving one later today!
My Corsair GT is getting 35 to 46 miles of range. It's all in how you drive it. I'm in Florida and it's all level, but I had a Ford Cmax in Pa. and the hills didn't seem to make any difference.
Great video. Concise, tight content - much info in a shorter time period than other reviewers. Agree on the old Sync 3 screen and the lack of wireless connecting. Alson the location of wireless charger looks awkward due to most people stuffing center console near full with items. PS would love to see your predictions for future changes to next edition of SUVs, such as the 2023 Corsair. Video could be in the spirit of the ton of TH-cam channels that speculate on the next Apple iphone features or next Mac Mini.
Test drove a few months ago. I've heard others complain that the 24-way seats have TOO many adjustments. I got mine just right within a minute and immediately turned on the massage seats for both myself and salesman (along with the ventilation, we're in NM and it's HOT!). I asked him how he felt in the passenger seat as we cruised around and he felt they were comfortable as well. To each their own. Was ready to buy this year, but heard there's a re-fresh for the 2024, what's another year? Can't wait to see what they do!
@@tsmatthx2 I've been looking at cars since 2021 and all the years are running together. 😉 No matter. I'm looking at the newly redesigned 2023 Lexus RX 500h F-Sport. More reliability with Lexus (and better resale). All I read about Lincoln is all of their electrical issues ("it's a software update, nothing we can do" and nothing seems to get resolved). 😬
@@KM-lz2ch that looks cool, just googled it. For this specific purpose it is too fast, too much performance for me for these times lol getting new corsair cause 78mpg :), will keep my sportiness isolated to a car for me. Also daaaaamn that thing $$$ loaded out ha
The charts at the end were on point and very illustrative, thanks for adding and sharing them with us! I think it would be worth mentioning those are base prices and might not include all features for those 3 models like 360cam or massage options
Thanks for this! I am looking at the 2023 version, which promises to take care of the Sync 3, infotainment screen size, and wireless android auto issues. The quiet ride is important to me but it doesn't sound like the Corsair is doing as good a job as I hoped. Did the car you were driving have the active noise cancellation feature? If not, perhaps that would help. If it did and you are still getting that much noise, I will be disappointed.
Have had my Corsair GT for one month and love it. I am getting around 31 miles on Pure EV. Granted, that's in Arizona. Guess I'll see what it's like at 112 F in the summer. Love the seats with one exception. I'm not a big guy at all, but the left side seam hits right where I sit and gets a little uncomfortable after about an hour or so. I might need to try the other 23 (or so) adjustments. Other than that still too new and still. Learning the whole infotainment, voice commands etc. One really great perk my dealership adds is a Tech advisor coming to my home to spend time tutoring us on all the electronic and digital controls. Think I better tell him to pack a big lunch.
Thanks for the review. I’m planning on picking one up but was curious how the hybrid system works when the electric battery is drained? Is there an additional battery?
It'll never be completely drained, as that's bad for the battery. But it'll just run on the gasoline engine if it can't use the battery. Plus it'll also work on recharging the battery from the gas motor in certain circumstances.
@@EVPulse thanks for the response. To follow up if you don’t mind. So say the 27 mile range hits 0, is the vehicle now strictly internal combustion? Or Is there actually a hybrid system running? We have a Jeep wrangler that’s electric hybrid and it has the electric battery and hybrid battery, so once you run out of the 20-30 mile range, the car is running in hybrid mode, not pure internal combustion. So my question is essentially, is this really a hybrid once you hit 0? Or is it running 100% pure internal combustion.

Are the adaptive dampers automatic or controlled by the driver?

I was going to buy the 2023 but The Ford Authority reports a 2024 refresh😁. I'm going to wait!⏰
Another comparable would be the Lexus NX450h+. Maybe swap that for the XC60 in your vid.
