Yes, it is a brilliant video, thank you. I have this machine and it was a limited edition at the time. I puchased mine in 1985 and still going strong. Never, ever had any problems with this machine.
I have had the upgraded version of this machine for over 40 years and it is still going strong. I love the convenience of having the two features in the one machine and know that it is a well made strong machine. Thank you for this video, it has shown the world this wonderful versatile machine.
I love my combi 10 loyal great always great it still works well solid and rhe best .it was very expensive when i got it 1400$ in 1986 but well worth it
I've had my Combi beast since the mid 1980's, never had a problem with it. The 2 thread overlocker has always worked just fine on my projects although she doesn't like going over very thick seams. I recently splurged on a Janome 4 thread overlocker and it does a great job but is so much noisier than my Combi. The sales assistant asked if I wanted to sell my Combi because she gets customers coming in regularly asking if she knows of anyone selling theirs. After all these years they still have a reputation for being a simple, practical, sturdy machine. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Every video I am amazed at your interesting machines. I didn't even know a machine like this existed. In SA we were not that keen on Janome. It was Bernina or Elna. But this Combi was not imported. I have always said: all you need is a straight sewer and button hole satin stitch, a few stretch stitches and then a separate overlocker, and here it is all in one. Seems to be sturdy and nice sound. Very interesting Thanks
My unhealthy fascination with sewing machines led me to discover one of these for sale near where I live in Melbourne and of course I’m very tempted to acquire it! Just by luck tonight your video on this model appeared straightaway as a handy coincidence! I enjoyed the overview very much, just the right amount of information to give me the essential points…I feel I could just sit down and use it now ! Regards and thanks Ann in Melbourne
Great video--thank you! I have a question, I have been using this amazing machine and it has been running smoothly but the other day I tried to use it and it's frozen! The handwheel is stuck. Any thoughts of what could have happened?
Hi. First of all, make sure your bobbin winder is not engaged. I have also just released a video which may relate to the issue you're having - th-cam.com/video/uoaqQAGg3Zs/w-d-xo.html - Thanks.
I have just been given a Combi DX in beautiful condition. I would love see your video on that and how to change it to the overlocking mode. I can’t seem to work it out.
I saw another video, which seemed to be the Combi model you referenced, and the switch from the "regular" sewing machine to the serger/overlocker was a simple switch (couldn't 100% tell if a flip style or push button toggle) that made it switch from one type to the other. The button/switch was on the right side of the machine while the standard sewing machine was facing towards you.
I have just heard of this machine. I can’t believe I didn’t know before!! What a great idea and looks like a nice machine to sew with. Is the cutter blade able to be moved ? I just to use my Janome my lock with the blade swung out of the way just for finishing seam edges.
hi is this a 624B combi 10 as i found one and need to pull out both needle bars bit rusty and need to find all manuals for a 624B do you have any vids on it or specks for how to replace the needle bars to correct positions also need to remove dials are they allen keys ?? to remove know your busy hope your cat molly is still with you
Thanks for the video! Looks like Janome is the only one out there that offers such versatility. I'm trying to figure out which model is the best or at least the newest? Any advice? So far I found there are Combi SX 2300, Combi 10, DX 502 and this one (not sure about the model)
I think we got ripped off with the DX. no502 no longer has the presser foot tension and has the drop in bobbin. I prefer the vertical bobbin in a metal case and I would prefer to be able to adjust the foot tension.
Yes, it is a brilliant video, thank you.
