In the middle east, aircraft type does not matter ( hourly pay does because narrow bodies will fly less hours naturally but the difference on lifestyle is not huge ) but base pay is the same across all aircraft types.
Can also happen in 4 yrs considering the shortage of commanders airlines like indigo , air india often provide faster promotions to their sfos also taking into considerations the massive aircraft orders there shall soon be a big shortage of captains and tho airlines are trying to get more foreign expat for them india isn't the first choice to live at so naturally airlines shall be promoting their sfos to commander faster.
Middle East is the best to work in because they will get tax free salaries compared to domestic or other countries.

Generally it is around 5 years from first officer to Commander sometimes it may take less sometimes more
