    There is a little uncertainty(pun intended) about the use of the word uncertainty in regard to Heisenberg's principle. Michael Frayn, in an afterword to his play Copenhagen, notes that several words in German-Unsicherheit, Unscharfe,
    Unbestimmtheit-have been used by various translators, but that none quite equates to the English uncertainty.
    Frayn suggests that *indeterminacy* would be a better word for the principle and indeterminability would be better still.
    Werner Heisenberg came up with a competing theory called matrix mechanics. This was so mathematically complex that hardly anyone really understood it, including Heisenberg himself (“I do not even know what a matrix is ,” Heisenberg despaired
    to a friend at one point).

      I agree ..i think it all neil bohr fault..uncertainity is closer to word Bohr used unsicherheit ( unsure or doubtful) ..he bloody messed up everyone ..i dont think he got quantum mechanics..he just got the benefit of having people like heisenberg and pauli with him..and he messed up generations of ppl with crap like copenghagen ..🤣🤣🤣

    This (or infact, every other video) is the perfect example of how a video lecture should be made. Of late, TH-cam has been overstuffed with all kinds of video lectures. But most of them, don't take the advantage of the "video" form. All of these are just classroom lectures that happens to be filmed. But this channel uses the form very effectively. Editing ka pura upyog koi inse seekhe. For eg., In most cases we have the teacher writing on the board in real time, which in a classroom is perfectly alright. But in a video, it's just a waste of time which can be easily avoided. Also the information density of this channel is unmatched. The way he extrapolates simple equations to larger than life phenomenon is mind-blowing. The examples and metaphor are very innovative and actually relatable. There is no dull moment in any of his video. You can tell he is actually passionate about the subject, the enthusiasm is infectious. I, personally, am indebted to you. I was very passionate about physics until they started teaching it as a subject and not as a lens through which we can see the universe and all it's beautiful intricacies. And eventually (sadly) I started doing that too. But gratefully, I stumbled upon your channel one day and it truly reignited my passion for the subject. Your videos make want to dig deeper into every phenomenon that I study about in search of something that was always before me but I never bothered to notice. Isn't that what a excellent teacher does? Thank you, please keep teaching.

    Until now, (+3 2nd year) , I was believing or I should say I was being taught that uncertainty principle is OUR INABILITY to measure the exact position and momentum.

    I commented on hc verma sir's video. And the comment was " Inspite of the toughness of jee advanced exam, why we haven't still done any breakthrough in the field of, say Physics."
    Lol, solving numerical problems doesn't mean that we will do anything big. When it comes to real life, we have no explanation.
    What we are doing is that remembering these formulae without having any intuition regarding their existence. I am not cursing the education system, thank god, I have somehow mixed with the indian education system. And I wanna add a little bit more that the students who qualify jee advanced exam tend to be teachers in coaching centres. lol😂

It is rewarded by 5 crores last year and it is ranked 3 in Maharashtra. in this callege 12 board practicle exams are taken as a open book test . Teachers even do not bother to write students paper! . And most important thing is everyone knows this from principal to servent of college

    Wave packet ki amplitude ko badhaye toh probability of finding postion of particle badhegi but for that zyada waves ki superpostion chahiye toh momentum uncertain hoga. Am I right sir?

      Yes to get one clean amplitude at only one point u need to mix lot of waves. Mixture of waves mean lot of momentums and hence u dont know the exact momentum..

    Sir, isn't that unknowability is "observer effect" . 2nd question is what if we bound two particles and split them apart and in first particle we study it's position and in second one we study it's momentum and because they are splited in same speed, if we observe the position of 1st particle and momentum of 2nd, we can calculate the momentum of 1st particle. Is it possible sir??

    Sir mane zero point energy ke bare me pada tha... Zero point energy... Quantum system ki minimum energy hotee hai.... Jisme quantum fluctuation hota hai.
    Sir... Mare according.. Ya fir mere opinion Mai... Zero point energy kisi bhi empty space Mai... Jo quantum particles ke dwara fluctuation hota hai usse produced energy ko zero point energy kahte hai...(in my opinion).

    Then, don't we measure the instantaneous speed of a object at a specific time and position by calculus ?
    So, aren't we measuring its velocity and position at the same time.
    Sir, please reply. I think no one can explain it any better.

      Yeah, we are measuring both at the same time. But as he said the uncertainty in measurement is so less that we can't even measure it that accurately. You can do the calculation yourself and you will know.
