Her Mum is not toxic. She just doesn't understand. Just because we come out to someone doesn't mean they have to like it or change their beliefs. I like Maya, but if someone said that about my Mum I would have nothing more to do with them.
Her mother is cukcoo. And I put parental respect at the top of my list too. But arrh sacralising someone who beats you (prior episode), blackmail you (episode when she 1st saw them kissing) is not wise and goes beyond the respect due by a child to their parents. No one is asking the Mom to change her believes, we just expect her to not terrorise her daughter for liking another woman. Sioned needs to take her distance, especially if she is going to be a mother herself and wants to break this cycle.
