Such an underrated action hero! I was a teen when this movie came out and loved it. He came out at the wrong time seeing how you had way too many action heroes in movies back in the day. Hollywood just didn't know what to do with him and it's sad. In my eyes he was up there with the other action heroes a talent Hollywood didn't see.
@ZeldonSinghIsFly27. The sad thing is, as much as I love van damme and grew up watching. His movies, his fame was falling, and he was being a stack up person and doing drugs. You see, the director of this movie directed a few van Damme movies. They were friends, and then van damme sold him out for hollywood. together, they would continue to make great movies.
Utilizing the martial arts in the form of a dance as most styles are when used properly can be a form of self defense and when not a combative requirement can also be a little bit fun. Truly is a wonderful display of strength, power, skills, beauty and poetry in motion... Twerking doesn't have a damn thing on Capoeira!👍✊👍
Fun fact: The guy who played Shay, Roman Castle, wrote a book called "On My Way to Hollywood" and it gave an interesting peek behind the scenes of filming the movie. The book was superbly written and a total page-turner! I cannot recommend it enough. You will enjoy it!

He's a cult hero
HE DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SHOWCASE HIS TALENT MUCH EVEN THOUGH HE DID COME IN JOHN WICK AND OTHER MOVIES!

At least you showed that you weren't going to be punked by him.
No, no... "Paranauê Paraná" is a greeting for "those who came from the sea". Reference to black people brought on ships.
Did a documentary on this Art 21 years ago in Philadelphia. I was inspired by this movie. What a beautiful art. Mark Dacascos was amazing. 🙂
Best scene in the movie!
