2020年10月中旬。今日は船にて泳がせ釣り。まずは餌となるアジの調達から。
港を出てアジの群れを探す。魚探の反応を見ると少しアジらしき群れの反応を発見。すかさずサビキを落としてみる。
落とし込み釣りの要領でサビキ仕掛けを落としていくとアジが針に食いついた。何匹か餌となるアジを釣り上げて、泳がせ釣りのポイントへ向かう。ポイントは水深65mに漁礁が点在しているような場所だ。
ポイント到着後早速仕掛けを海に投入。カメラとともに海底に向かって沈めていく。
そこにはアジを待つ根魚たちの姿が。しかし心待ちかいつもより魚の姿が少ない。
青物の回遊する姿も見えない。漁礁周辺を探っていくとウッカリカサゴたちが現れアジに食いつく。
しかし、針がかりはせず。
その後何度かポイントを変更したあと、再度同じポイントへ戻ってきた。今日の海中の状況を察するに、活性が低く漁礁の奥底に魚達は隠れているようだ。
そこで根掛り覚悟で漁礁の奥底まで仕掛けを投入することに。
ゆっくり仕掛けを投入し奥底であたりを待つ。すると、アジに狙いを定めている根魚が！大きなカサゴだ！そしてアジに突進し丸飲みに！生き餌を丸飲みにしたあと漁礁内部へと潜ろうとしている。
果たしてこの大きなカサゴを釣り上げることはできるのか。

Mid-October, 2020. Today, we will be swimming and fishing by boat. The first thing we need to do is to get some horse mackerel for bait.
We left the harbor and looked for schools of horse mackerels. When I looked at the response of the fish finder, I found a little school of horse mackerels. I quickly dropped my Sabiki into the water.
I dropped the trap in the same way as I would drop a hook, and the horse mackerels started to bite the hook. After catching some horse mackerels for bait, we headed for the swim fishing point. The point was 65m deep and dotted with fishing reefs.
After arriving at the point, I put the trap into the sea. I sank down to the sea bottom with my camera.
There, we saw root fish waiting for horse mackerel. However, there were fewer fish than usual.
I couldn't even see the bluefish migrating. As we explored the area around the reef, sea scorpionfish appeared and began to bite the horse mackerel.
However, they did not bite the hook.
After changing points several times, we came back to the same point again. Judging from the conditions in the water today, the fish were not very active and seemed to be hiding deep in the reefs.
So, I decided to throw the trap to the bottom of the reef in preparation for the fish to take root.
I set the hook slowly and waited for a bite at the bottom. Then, I saw a root fish targeting a horse mackerel! A big scorpion fish! It lunged at the horse mackerel and swallowed it whole! After swallowing the live bait, it tried to dive into the reef.
Can we really catch this big scorpionfish?
