This is a superb documentary of an extraordinary expedition and tales of survival on the journey home. I had the privilege of working in Oman in 1993-96 with Mr. Peter Gibbs, who had explored and surveyed parts of Antarctica with the British Expedition in the 1950’s. The Gibbs Glacier bears his name. This wonderful film took me as close to experiencing what these intrepid explorers felt, without suffering the bitter cold and hardships. Being a witness through new and old footage is very worthwhile and is very highly recommended. 👍😎🇳🇿⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a brilliant movie - a humble intelligent and brave explorer retraces the steps of Shackleton and I found this inspiring for the remarkable achievements of Shackleton and inspiration for the challenges we face in life individually and collectively as a species . I HIGHLY recommend this 5 star movie this is a MUST SEE for everyone Love it Thank you 🙏!!!
Read it in grade 8 (5 years ago) best non-fiction book I have ever read. I could read it over and over again and love it just as much! I am so happy they have made a film
Just saw this last night at the local Cineplex: what a gorgeous film!! I was so pleased that the images taken, both still and live action, by Frank Hurley on the original expedition were interwoven with the spectacular modern photography. Frank's images were astonishing and it is a miracle they survive. I was very familiar with the events of the Endurance expedition, but seeing it re-described and then re-created by Tim Jarvis was really compelling. Hats off to all who survived, past and present. Highly recommended!
I watched this documentary for the story of Shackleton... turned into a story of the narrator's internal guilt and anxiety about climate change and how we need to raise taxes to save the planet.
When will this be released?! I just finished reading Endurance by Alfred Lansing and have been consuming any documentary I can find. This one is going to be epic.
The film has been released in cinemas across Australia and New Zealand, hopefully it will be coming to the rest of the world soon! We'll post updates on our website and instagram if you want to keep an eye out, hopefully you get to see it!
Survived Antartica, and somehow convinced an Arctic expedition would be successful. They found his last ship that Shackelton did not make it today off Newfoundland-Labrador. Never tempt fate twice.

Hey, Does anyone know, when, where or specifically how this will be available to watch in North America? Specifically Canada? I can't seem to find any further details on it.
I'd love to see Nordenskjöld's 1901-1903 Swedish expedition get a little attention. As with the Endurance expedition, there's drama on several fronts. Nordenskjöld's recounting is a bit dry. Some author, a la Caroline Alexander's "The Endurance", or filmmaker, too many versions to list, is missing a bet.
Started really well, excellent documentary. Unfortunatly, turned into a giant climate change rant. Activists using the great man and his story to grift, such a shame.

I saw this today. Absolutely brilliant. I knew it was an extraordinary feat to survive what Shackleton did, but actually seeing it was something else.
No you didn't

Very timely! The mass tourism happening right now in Antarctica needs to be heavily regulated.
Why heavily regulated? Because you're worried people will end up stranded like Shackleton and his men?
Brilliant, Such courage and bravery , and all 28 crewe saved. Tom Crean from Kerry in Ireland one of the heroes.
Just seen it at th movies. Awesome. Should show this at schools. Might inspire.
Yes it should be mandatory for all schools to make this available to all levels of education

Big Tom Crean. What a hard man he was

Same, Lansing's book is incredible, even more so when you take into account its all true!
@@Wildpacificmedia Huge Shackleton buff here, please, I want to see this in the US so badly! Especially in IMAX!
Captain Worsley is the true hero! He saved those men AND could have prevented it if the other guy listened.
Ah… of course. 1:25
For a brief excited moment, I thought this was a movie about Shackleton.
Well done WPM, looks incredible!
Cheers mate! Your Kimberley stuff is epic!

😅😅😅well information good show 😅😅
Tom Crean was the real hero!!!
I’d say the same about Frank Wild. The man was as hard as they come and a good leader.

Was great until the climate change bullshit.
One of tragedies ...sad parts ...is the glass photo plates, 📸 that were destroyed ...not as sad as dogs 🐕 destroyed, but sad also
And Mrs Chippy!

Mercifully some were kept, as well as film footage.
