whoever is complaining about not using your phone in the theatre please stop, youre missing the point. this is something amazing that google is offering for free so you should be thankful...i use google voice every day and i love it. would you rather people be talking/listening to their phones in the theatre?
@BrandonCerelius I disagree, if the dimness is all the way down and you hold your phone fairly low no one will notice that your checking your phone. My colleagues and I do it quiet frequently, I have never been bothered by it. However, if you receive a message then stand up and proclaim "Great Scott!" and shuffle about the theater in a frantic rush to return to 1955... well that's a different story.
If I port my (732) area code phone number (Freehold, NJ USA cell phone) to Google voice, and someone else from (732) leaves me a voice mail message after I move to China (and I am still using my iPhone 5 if it works there with a different carrier or an unlocked iPhone 6 with a new carrier, new Chinese cell phone number and I have entered that number into Google Voice online thingy to set up as the number to forward calls to and will still be using my main email address while I am there ) will I receive the text as a transcribed email while I in China?
@miklog If there's no "Voicemail & Text" tab (looked at mine, that's how it's listed), then you probably don't have Google Voice turned on for your mobile number.
Can you do a video demo on how to add a Google Voice shortcut to the Google Apps shortcuts in the Google Chrome browser, and also, to Gmail interface - on a PC? Thanks
@miklog Off switch. Just for you. ;) (Pulled from Google's help article) If you want to disable voicemail transcriptions, follow these steps: 1. Click Settings at the top-right of any Google Voice page. 2. Deselect the 'Transcribe Voicemails' option in the Voicemail & SMS tab. 3. Click Save Changes.
I can not get calls to come to my phone. I have been trying to get connected to google voice for quite a while. What am I doing wrong. When I get the code from googlevoice, I put code in phone and that is where I go wrong.
Google, please allow end users to correct the often very inaccurate transcriptions. Like "voice training" on cell phones or voice recognition software on my computer - you could (I would argue should) be using the power of your end users to improve your voice transcriptions. Give us a "drop-down" menu of questionable words - like your spell check in wave - and allow us to improve the accuracy of transcriptions. We (the end user) have the most to gain by improving the service - no cost to Google.
Thank you Google for starting to develop this. I am 65 years old and hard to hearing, can't afford hearing aids and Medicare or Insurance won't cover them. I often have trouble understanding voice messages, I am hoping this is going to help. So, it's not just for dumb asses that are too lazy to do anything.
@BrandonCerelius Yah maybe if you have ADHD. You people obviously don't understand that sometimes real life is a little more important than a movie, especially if they are just glancing at it in their lap.
Is there any way to learn about what google voice is without watching a dozen inane videos? Or has everyone in the world forgotten how to read already?
It looks like Google Voice tries to transcribe Russian Voice into English text. Resulting transcriptions are quite funny. I wonder if it is possible to automatically recognize a language of voicemail and to transcribe it correctly.
I JUST now saw this video and I am surprised it hasn't been edited yet. Google is condoning using one's cell phone while watching a movie. Shame on you, Google.
It does seem like an invasion of privacy just so they can show us their ads. Conversely, we use their services for free and if WE had a business to advertise, we'd desire our ads to get the best placement. It's a tricky subject. // How DID G get your Contacts' numbers? #sneaky
Isso é turo de Bom!!!! Era o que estava precisando. Estou cansada de brigar com operadora de telefo e internet. Eu queria uma nova chance. Agora encontrei, Sinto que isso é maravilhoso.Obrigada por me dar essa oportunidade.
Please don't encourage cell phone users to use cell phones AT ALL while at the movies or in a meeting. That's completely RUDE behavior that needs to be discouraged strongly. I don't pay $9 for a movie ticket to have some jerk in front of me basically shine a flashlight in my eyes or listen to/read somebody else's conversation. Also, people in meetings spent a lot of time to coherently put together their information. The least you could do is show them a little courtesy and respect and listen.
Someone who lights up a bright phone screen in the cinema during a film shouldn't be in the cinema. Turn it off. If you can't go that long without looking at your phone, don't come to the cinema.
Please don't tell users that it's okay to use their phones to read messages at the theatres - it's not. Theatres prohibit it and it irritates everyone around them.

Mr Edmundo Ochoa
This is also useful for Deaf people who cannot access the messages that are left in their voicebox. Great work!
Google voice is priceless. Especially for business where documentation is critical. Thanks Google Voice, don't change.

@BrandonCerelius But fi you have brightness on minimum, it is much less annoying.
Because OH MY GOD, what would happen if the movie wasn't the most important thing in everyone's life!!!???
Say I don't like this google voice, can I switch back to my default voicemail system?

Does Google voice work in any country? Or is it US-only, or for select countries?.

I think Google Voice is great. I was on of the Beta Testers for it (I think before 2010)!
Did anyone else notice that the computer drawing is of a Macbook Pro, but it uses a Windows keyboard for the typing and clicking sounds.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT BRAND OR MODEL IS THAT PHONE 0:05 , A 1000 INTERNET WHO EVER REPLIES, THANK U IN ADVANCED
this works sometimes. Not everyone's images show up in my email though.
@BrandonCerelius Yah maybe if you have ADHD. You people obviously don't understand that sometimes real life is a little more important than a movie, especially if they are just glancing at it in their lap.
I'm just learning this Google phone. It sounds good

@thomasabin Please don't spoil your digestive system with the popcorn into which the cockroaches laid their eggs.
@BrandonCerelius Or you could just turn your brightness level all the way down.
