She is 20 years old now, she is a Contralto not a Mezzo/Soprano and she destroyed everything in this live performance, i was right there in the front row and i could not keep myself on my seat from her sheer power.
This is not in Russian, it is as you suspected just vocalizations it is "The voice of the dessert" the alien language of the Fremen.
She was supposed to sing the Gladiator theme too but they changed it the last moment and another lady sang that one.
If you want to see Diana sing the main theme of a recently released movie then you have to see "Baikal" from the movie "Spirit of Baikal".
Diana plays the spirit of the legendary lake Baikal herself in the video clip, saving a boy from death and showing him the way to the shore.
It is magical, mystical pulled right out of fairy tales.
Also another recently released performance from her that deserves attention is her duet with Brandon Stone on the main new year concert of Russia singing her original song "The day you..."
She displays her extreme high register there, you would not believe that a Contralto can rival the best Sopranos out there.

It is amazing how long she can hold those notes! I tried holding my breath in time with her. Almost passed out.

Contralto!!!!! THAT IS A TRAINED VOICE!!! I just love how she stands there absorbing all the energy so she can belt it out later. When I heard she was involved in this project, I though she was going to sing for Gladiator...but no, this song is PERFECT for her. Этот любитель музыки запомнился мне тем, как он пытался разобраться с песней "Так случилось, мужчины ушли", - и ему это более-менее удалось, - насколько это вообще возможно для иностранца. Всё главное о Диане Анкудиновой он уже сказал в своих предыдущих роликах: "один из лучших голосов из всех, что я когда-либо слышал". Сегодня он просто потвердил это своё мнение. Чем мог быть продиктован выбор именно этого артиста на две главные роли в шоу Ханса Циммера? Как ни странно, есть нечто общее у этих двух разновеликих в музыке личностей. Искусство Ханса Циммера - на мой взгляд - некий баланс между массовой культурой и высоким искусством . Между всем понятной поп-музыкой - и сложной современной музыкой, близкой к академической. В 19 веке он делал бы нечто подобное тому, что делали Вагнер и Малер. Чем бы занималась в 19 веке Диана Анкудинова? Думаю, пела бы русские романсы, чередуя их с цыганской музыкой под гитару - и имела бы успех. А в 21 веке она поёт в основном поп-музыку - чередуя её с другой современной музыкой, которой иногда даже трудно подобрать жанровое определение - как вот этому саундтреку из "Дюны". Чаще всего она балансирует на той грани между поп-музыкой и настоящим искусством, когда нам становятся совсем не важны какие-то жанровые определения. Ей в лучших своих выступлениях удаётся доводить поп-музыку до какого -то крайнего предела, когда она приобретает другие свойства, обретает дополнительные смыслы, меняет своё качество под воздействием этого удивительного голоса. Думаю, что создатели этого шоу разглядели в Диане Анкудиновой эту её способность преображать привычное, освежать хорошо знакомое, - и работать с неожиданным и непривычным так, что оно делается для нас понятным и почти привычным. Под воздействием её голоса и её энергии оно становится для нас чем-то, в чём мы начинаем испытывать настоящую потребность - именно это, в конечном счёте, и есть главная цель любого амбициозного артиста...

Diana launched this piece to outer space along with everyone listening to it, look at her avoiding to sing straight in to that microphone, the singing equipment was trembling, her vocal energy has enough force for interstellar travel, it has the power to compel people and turn things in to reality just like "The voice" that only a specific female race the "Bene Gesserit" can do from the movie Dune it self.

She’s one of the few polyphonic singers. It’s the overtones you hear in her voice that gives it that incredible sound. Diana never uses any type of digital filter or auto-tune. It’s all natural.

With regard to an earlier comment about her having to hold her breath for so long, in an interview she said it was not easy! She said she and her vocal coach had to come up with a revised breath control method to ensure she had enough air to complete those long phrases and drawn out notes with little or no time to snatch some more air.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" th-cam.com/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/w-d-xo.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

This was a stunning revisiting of the Dune OST and I think it was better than the original. More primal, more epic, more tribal! I think if Hans Zimmer knew about Diana back then, he would have chosen Diana to record the song! However, I'd like to share with you my thoughts about this from another perspective. I think that all vocals performances in this concert was lip-sync. I checked both Diana and the other lady's performances in Moscow and St. Petersburg and two performances sound 100% identical. I thought you should know about this nuance I think.
