Loved the plot twist. I was completely caught off guard but makes complete sense looking back on it including the philosophy to just observe but slowly changing that philosophy like nature photographers that sometimes intervene to save animals they are covering.
Doesn’t anyone remember the flurry of answers to the question of Who IS John Sugar? on social media?! It was wild! He’s a werewolf, he’s an angel, he’s AI, he’s a CIA black ops member, it was great. The suspense was agonizing. Some fans did think maybe he’s an alien but that was when they figured out there was the repeated observe and report line. I was gobsmacked by the twist! A real 😮 wtf 😳 moment, and I looooved it! The rewatch was great, too, seeing all the bread crumbs. The detective story was appealing. Each episode had a cliffhanger. And now we need a S2! Episode 8 ended on a major cliffhanger, begging for more of the story. Where is Henry? Where is Djen?
I liked the twist. I liked that his character is very much,” looking in from the outside.” I think the cinephile thing makes sense, movies are a language in a sense. As a society of polyglots of course he might find film and movies as another way of communicating. I also am intrigued by the character being very empathetic to others, his ability to disarm an aggressive dog. I think such beings would obviously be natural diplomats or peacemakers. I’d hope any S2 would further develop that.
Love the show!!! It works really well as a straight up detective story but the twist adds a layer that I didn’t need but can’t wait to see how it plays out. My favorite show on tv right now and it seems like almost no one is covering it.
I know! Where were the promotions?! I watch everything Farrell is in, but this series pulled me in 1st episode. Waiting a whole week to watch 30 mins at a time was agony. Who IS John Sugar? was making me crazy! 😁
I have known he was an alien since April 12, 1966. I was 10 years old and was having one of many lucid dreams that I had at that time. I met John Sugar and he explained to me that the next time we meet, he would be a character in a television series set in future Los Angeles. He explained the premise of the series, how many seasons it would last, how it ends (which interestingly coincides with the end of not just Earth but our entire universe) and life’s ultimate meaning, or lack thereof. I have been living with this information for decades but had to swear an oath of silence before Sugar would impart the secret of existence and the plot of his series. All I can say is it seemed a little derivative to me but I have high expectations of cosmic horror
Can’t get drunk blocks bullets survives getting stab with 10 inch knives. I guess the signs are there. Still so weird! I’m still gonna watch the final 2 episodes to see what happens!
I NEED MORE SEASONS. I liked the show before ep 6, sure, but i'm not a huge fan or Noir film so I watched it out of curiosity. Now we know he's not human I AM ALL IN!
@@MikePhumanaut you know what? I still feel cheated because i REEEEALLY wanted a great detective real life like story… but once you give it a second chance.. they managed the plot twist pretty well. I’d definitely watch season 2
I didn't quite catch any subtle odd questions but of course the biggest hint was his physical condition, since he needs to inject medicine and often has fainting spells.
I had no clue there was a twist either. It probably flew over the head of >90% of the audience. Like you, I just thought he was hallucinating. Just how did they think that was a good idea!? Utterly bizarre.
There is so much that I dislike about this cliche ridden bit of nonsense, I wont bother. If you value your time, skip it. Just an improbably cartoon of a foul ball. It so bad I thought the star might have written, produced and directed it which is the usual story on a pile like this. Not so. He's just another victim of this drivel.

He also lifts up the guy in the suit above his head when he throws him against the wall
Undoubtedly, it is one of the best series ever made and Colin Farrell alone leads the whole series with his artistry and charm. ❤🔥❤

I❤ it - Chinatown film noir meshed with marvel’s Kree
Amazing show
Great show!
I completely saw it coming, and I still was not disappointed it was done at the perfect moment.
I like sci-fi, but I liked this more as a straight up detective show.
We all did. I feel cheated.
@@carlosrodriguez-buchelicot5607 nah. Way better.

Dude just turned into a Na'vi
It seems like the people in this comment section have never heard of blending genres before.
Love the show.
How The dogs reacted to him was a crumb since the beginning…
I am audience, I love it
Definitely at the end of season.
Really good show!
I knew he was an alien cuz he drove a Corvette
Thought he was a wolf because of the moon...
Werewolf would have made more sense
I figured out he wasn’t human in episode 1, like a few min in.
ALien confidential
lol nice
What was the twist? Can anyone explain cause I don't seem to recall seeing one
He’s an alien. It’s at the end of the episode.
@@LK-uo5kx so that's the twist? I thought he was hallucinating as a result of the sedative he injected lol
@@jagmaharesi2486 : Yes, I thought that also but then all of the video reviews/producers of Sugar said that Sugar was an alien. Weird twist!
That's so weird surely..I was like wtf is happening here..I thought he was hallucinating

👍👏👏
Hated the plot twist. Show was Great as a mystery
Agree with some of the comments. It ruined the show for me
Absolute garbage plot twist. Ruined the show.
Stupidest ending in tv history
We were guessing aliens the entire time, so it wasn't much of a shock for us. There were plenty of clues shown, spoken, and narrated.
It crossed my mind. i knew he wasn't a normal human for sure. It was the 'we only observe' line that got me.
"We" fuck off mate, i was one of 40 people i know that watched it, 2 of us made that connection.

Dumb plot twist. Show was amazing and y'all had to ruin it with this dumb alien BS. Won't even watch anymore of the episodes
Was there from.the start silly goose. Sorry your brain can only handle sitcoms.
