Why do people always say that Goku doesn't want his potential unlocked? He literally said he did when elder kai mentioned it before the TOP. The only time he says something about not liking being gifted power was the ssg ritual but, that's actually gifted power unlike the potential unlock.
I would have Shenron unleash my potential, drink the ultra divine water, have Guru unlock more of my potential and for the final nail, let Elder Kai unlock more of my potential. 4 opportunities to gain more power.

Meaning zamasu would be unable to do it because it requries goku’s mind to do, which goku black doesn’t have. And considering the disparity between super saiyan god and UI, I don’t think he’d be able to fuse with the universe

Would he put up a much better fight? Absolutely. Such a shame they didn't use the oozaru transformations anymore. An SSJ4 Goku for DBZ or DBS would be nice to see and maybe SSJ5 which while SSJ5 not as strong as UI, it would be nice to see made canon.

actually cooler does exist in canon dragon ball, it shows in the black frieza saga when beerus decides to show up against frieza, and when goku and vegeta try to kill frieza, frieza revived cooler and he actually reached golden, around the same level as RF saga goku and vegeta, but it does not really matter since he would not do much against this goku

Vegeta had not done a single day of training before the events of Namek, and only started training after he learned Goku massively surpassed him through gravity training. Until then he relied totally and exclusively on his immense natural power as did all other Saiyans. Goku mostly relied on his innate raw power roughly until he met Roshi, as well. He knew very little in the way of martial arts until then, and didn't actually do much in the way of training either, since he was mostly focused on just continuing to live.
I think Goku black would copy Goku's ultra instinct and Goku and Vegeta would fuse into vegito ultra instinct ego and destroy Goku black in a nanosecond then the vegito would destroy zamasu and then use the Zeno button after zamasu combined with the universe
