Alright bro... I've watched this easily 50 times no joke. Are you cutting the bamboo sticks in half or...? I'm lost at the first two minutes just because I don't see how a round bamboo stick can be grinded down smooth like that. Also, could you please list what you're putting underneath after the sticks? Look like shimbs but I'm assuming that's not it at all.
Sorry for the questions. I just have a shit ton of bamboo here in Arkansas (crazy I know).
Please help and may whatever God you believe in bless ya brotha.

The bamboos I have are about 100mm(4in) diameter. It has a thickness of about 10mm. So, I cut it across the lenght to make bamboo sticks that has a cross section of almost a rectangle. I simply glue them in 90 degree angles to give some rigidity. I don't know what you mean about shimbs. But if you are referring to the long green things, those are eva foam (the ones used as puzzle mats). I needed those foam because the bamboo sticks are not consistent in thickness and the foam conforms to this.

As for the grinding, I don't recomend using a planer. Although, it did flatten the panel a bit but it has hard time cutting along the bamboo grain. What works is using a flap disk on a angle grinder. it will not flatten it but you can get something smooth enough for maybe lamination or top coat.
