In India people have variable interest rate mortgages so no one cares about repo rate. It decreases a quarter and then increases another quarter. People cannot plan anything based on this anyhave.
In developed countries the people have fixed interest rate mortgages so there is "repo rate" reduces which in-turn reduce mortgage interest rate then people flock to get mortgages with fixed time period of 10/20/30 years.
