What a great interviewer. She knew the actors, she knew the movie, she respect the craft and don't speak over them. Seems like they had a good time, major props to her.
Been watching a bunch of Lighthouse interviews and she is honestly one of the best hosts, she is so good!

Exactly, Pattinson despite his beauty, has something thought provoking and mysterious about his face, it makes you wonder and intrigues you. Willem of course has that as well, and even more so. The casting was great.
Something about him reminds me a bit of a younger version of Marlon Brandon as Captain Kurtz

The definition of a good movie is that after i watched it, i have to suck in all the interviews and stuff where the people who made the film talk about it. This was one of them.

Anyone notices Rob looks so anxious during this, Williams even asked him if he was okay And he shakes his head. You can see towards the start him breathing heavily into himself, rocking back and forth, hardly talking. I’m proud he powered through it! Anxiety isn’t easy at all so that’s why I’m proud!

It must be really nerve wracking to struggle with extroverted communication and listen to Willem speak eloquence without pause. Of course he was nervous. I like him a lot and hope he gets the praise he deserves to ease his anxiety.

what a great and personable host. really eased the actors into each part of the conversation. this was fun to watch

It's funny that Dafoe thought Pattinson was interesting and mysterious when he did Twilight (14:00) because what Dafoe's character says to Pattinson in the film applies pretty nicely to his Twilight persona: "Ye pretended to some mystery in yer quietudes, but there aren't no mystery. You're an open book. A picture, says I!"
Wasnt a fan of Robert Pattinson until this. Deeply love Willen Dafoe. He's an amazing actore

Robert is such a gifted actor but the way he describes his process it’s almost like he never prepares he just shows up and performs. I know it’s not that simple. What could anyone say about Mr Willem Defoe? He’s AMAZING as always! Just beautiful performances from both! Love the film. It’s very interesting just two people and conversations (drama) like it used to be (Think Hitchcock). Excellent!
Willem is pure class, and shows his age and maturity by being able to string together multiple thoughts and sentences without using the word 'like'.
The dynamic between these three is absolutely hilarious, and the interviewer is really cool!

brilliant interview. god *damn* this film was incredible. just absolutely soaked head to toe in tension and atmosphere and style. truly unique
agreed. honestly, since i first watched it, i haven't really been able to stop thinking about it.
Watch this film three times at a full moon midnight, and the third time around you will grow a beard from nothing, and it will have the smell of kelp and the taste of salt to it. That's how good this film is.

Absolutely. The sea spray, the cold, the horrid food, the scratchy burlap clothes of the 19th century, the language.....just such a vivid atmosphere. You FEEL it.

I love how the visuals and the general tone of the movie will repel people that won't do a bit of legwork, and on the other hand pull everybody else inside its maelstrom

I watched this with my mother... she's old school so yeah it was a bit cringe but I watched it again with my girlfriend and realized how artsy and amount of effort in acting their is

There was such a MODERNIST bent in this movie. Specifically EZRA POUND. The Seafarer. Look it up here on TH-cam.
When they meant the "stars", they really meant it. As in, there are only two people in this entire film.

Ya really shouldn't blame an actor for a bad character in a film. We all make the mistake of blaming the actors for poor performances and bad characters but also completely forget the fact the Actors didnt not create the role, nor write the screenplay, nor dialog and in most cases didnt direct themselves doing the role, we forget who the blame should really be aimed at... The Directors, the Writers, the Producers and casting agents. A film and its execution falls on those individuals. The Actors try to understand and translate the character in the script, but the final word on that character is that the director who approves it or not. As such Pattinson should not be mared for the role he played in TWILIGHT, Give you a perfect example.. Mark Hamill in The last Jedi. The Actor himself knew his character was completely wrong from his previous iterations , only to later find that the directors and writers were basically hacks set out to drive Starwars and its key characters into a brick wall. Cant blame Hamill, you have to blame those truly responsible.

@@julietteSoul I really dont get what your on about, But!. when actors take roles they typically dont want to bail on projects as theyre under contract by their studio and obligated to complete the projects they themselves had agreed to understake. Bailing brings untrust and such a thing scares directors and producers, if they cant trust your obligation to their investment, you will likely find yourself out of work for a long time. having broke the rule of the actors guild.
@@julietteSoul he also signed a contract for eight films in the franchise, and he still did other projects throughout, so you can't judge him for a decision ne and his agents made when he was 21.

If You EVER think of wanting to become a Positively remembered cast member interviewer, then you Have to be the kind of a person Jacqueline Coley is - an Actual Cinema fan. Her questions and quickie opinions just Cemented the fact she Cares for the Art form, and Not some sjw agenda the They are trying to show down our throats about gender/racial diversity, etc.
Jacqueline truly new why she was there, and appreciated the artistic achievement, instead of trying to slather it in some ideological fashion statement for the next fad to be born.

I love listening to Eggers. I watched a 1 hour lecture he gave for a Bafta thing and I enjoyed it.
Good film but the idea was nicked from an earlier Welsh film from 2016.
No...as Robert said, he was looking into it since 2011..the self film is based on the real lighthouse incident in the UK, off of which this movie is looosely based on..that's why you felt that it was nicked.

When is anyone going to fess up that this is a very recent remake of a BBC and BMI production which was brilliant? Literally within 2 years. It's a disgraceful rip off not mentioning that. Shame on them...

Ots not...Eggers was making this up since like 2011 and that production is based off of a real life lighthouse incident in the UK off of which this is loosely based off of...very different movies.. somewhat based on a real event..it isn't a bloody ripoff of any sorts..the BBC one was a docu-film, this is a psychological horror/dark comedy loosely based on the real event

Great film, great director and actors, another sub par interviewer rambling and distracting from the talent on stage.
Making a movie in black and white, a narrow aspect ratio, with old lenses doesn’t make a good movie. This was movie was soulless, aimless, I didn’t care about the characters at all. It stunk.

I really love the moderator, very natural, very pleasant, very professional and knowledgeable person. I NEVER notice moderators unless those that are like her or Jenelle Riley. :)
