- In this lesson, you will learn about logarithmic functions in math. A logarithmic function is a function that contains one or more logarithms. The logarithm, abbreviated log is the inverse function to the exponential function. Exponential functions are central to understanding bacterial growth, time value of money, exponential debt and interest, and more. So understanding logarithmic equations are important for the same reasons.

best teacher, every time I don't understand something I come to your channel and watch the video, cuz I know that if I have doubts your video is going to erase them, thanks for all the videos and all the material you have help me in
while i haven't watched say the stuff on Chemistry yet ... there were differnent things in high school that went way over my head ... I listen to Jason explain it and it's somehow crystal clear to me ... like "why did they make 'this' or 'that' THAT CONFUSING FOR NO REASON?"
@@Xmetalfanx yup, hes the best

Trying to locate first five lessons
Tuned into lesson one ,two and your lecture gets interrupted saying private video
Sorry to write you under this comment but spaces full
Thank you for sticking to doing material for such a long time, I am a subscriber to your online courses, and they have literally helped to cultivate my understanding of subject matter from algebra all the way to calc 2 where I am at currently in school. In high school I was terrible and did not like doing mathematics, but as I am now in my 30s have developed a love for the craft even though I still sometimes get frustrated lol. But honestly again it is thanks to the time and effort you have put into your courses over the years that have helped me to be where I am at in a degree for CS and on to awesome things! Thanks Jason Gibson!
Awesome thanks so much. Good luck in your studies!
Very nice lesson on logarithms, the best one on the web. I've written it down to the last dot ! 👏
I have downloaded your app and i am watching your lectures there. It's much much better then my university professors
I don't know how math would have been without your channel. Thank u ❤️
Thank you, Jason, for another good lesson. Your teaching is a unique one.
Young Jason, a legend in the making.
Lol yes that was a long time ago!
This is wonderful. have you authored any book for maths, physics or chemistry? I would love to have your books
Nice 👍
From memory and it's been a while... Logarithms undo it exponentials
Yes, you are right!
wow is this 2006? great teaching👍
thank you very much sir that was helpfull
hello sir can we have a video of your room tour❤
Nice explanition... 😌
Thanks 🙂
THANK YOU... SIR...!!!
If all mathematic's teachers were like you!
Thanks for all your videos .
May I pls ask if you have videos for biochemistry uni level?
Kind regards
No biochemistry unfortunately. Take care, Jason
@@MathAndScience thanks for the reply.
Thanks it was very interesting !
Your problem log6(2x-3) = log6^12-log6^3 is written in a way that made me think I could solve by going 2x-3 = 12-log6^3. lol. Confusing, but then I realized that you would have written it log6^(12-log6^3) if that were the case. I finally got it. x=7/2.
Thanks so much incredible!!!
You're so welcome!

This was filmed 15 years ago?
I was taught in school that log to 10 base is notated as lg
What's a log?
why not say: What's the exponent on base a = N? a log is an exponent, no?
Solve the equation 4^2x-4(4)^x-32=0. on logs

I don't want to see formulas; I want to see formulas in moving pictures as the variables change; all related to a specific problem.
