Why not show the actual product (OBDII adapter)?

Great review! I like your point about the purpose of dash cams and how they don’t need to be cinema quality. Maybe I missed it, but can you have the display completely off while recording/driving? I don’t want the screen on for a cleaner look and less distractions.

Thank you. The display automatically turns off after a few minutes of being on. I believe this setting is on by default but I think you can change it. I’m not near my car to confirm at the moment.

Can the camera be used as an interior camera? Thanks

@@mackglow you could use it as an interior camera but then you would need a separate camera for viewing the exterior. There are better options with dual cameras if you’re interested in interior footage.

Thanks for your revision and follow-up. Was kinda hoping you'd touch on the app functions like view from your phone while elsewhere and if it has motion sensor or something like that. I've had older version Garmin although good basic they not reliable for transferring videos which defeats the purpose I just bought the 47 so I'll be learning it 😉

Those are all great topics. If this video gets enough interest I can do a full review of the Garmin app. I will say it’s a bit glitchy at times and sometimes doesn’t always transfer video correctly. The camera itself is fine but the app still needs some work. As for the motion unfortunately I do not get notified if motion is detected via the app.

With the OBDII power adapter having two USB ports, can it power a dashcam 47 and a Garmin GPS simultaneously?

I’m not sure I’ve only used it for the dash camera. The OBD2 port has a fuse so you would want to make sure the draw from
Both devices doesn’t exceed what it is rated for.

@@atpgarageatl I wasn't aware of the fuse, but it makes sense. Thank you.

Don't get me wrong. This seems like a good dash camera, but per the manual it only saves 15 seconds before 15 seconds after if your driving eight hour road trip and don't it dont save all that footage what is this camera good for really you need it also when you get pulled over by crooked cops
Tell me if i am wrong

It record continuous temporary and only save short video which you save.
