मेरी उम्र 59 वर्ष है जब मैं बचपन में यह गीत रेडियो पर सुनता था आज भी वही लगता है सिर्फ़ मेरी ही उम्र गुजर गयी गीत वहीं का वहीं है
यही तो गुज़रे दौर के गीतों की दिलकशी है की उनकी खुशबू हर दौर में बरकरार रहती है। चाहे उन्हें हम 60 साल बाद ही क्यों न सुन रहे हो। अब 1944 की रतन और 1946 कि अनमोल घड़ी फ़िल्म के गानों को ही लीजिए 78-80 साल बाद भी हमें ये तरोताज़ा लगते है। यही बड़ी खूबी है उस दौर के संगीत की।

गर्मियों की रात,छत पर सोते थे,देर रात दूर कहीं से रेडियो पर ये गीत बजता सुनाई देता था।जब 14 वर्ष उम्र थी,तब ही बड़ा गहरा बैठ गया मन में यह गीत।
वाह वाह लता जी,,,वाह मीना जी,,ऐसी रचनाएं ही #पाकीजा कहलाती हैं।

ये सिर्फ गाना नही बल्कि एक बहुत गहरा अहसास है, एक पूरी कहानी है, एक जमाना है. किसी के दिल की आवाज़ है.
पुराने गानो की बात ही निराली हैं, जो दिल को सुकून देते है...बाकि आजकल तो पता नही कैसे-कैसे गाने आ रहे हैं ...👍
कमाल अमरोही साहब ने इस फिल्म को सन 1956 में बनाना शुरू किया था पर दोनों पति पत्नी यानी अमरोही साहब और मीना जी के आपसी मनमुटाव के कारण यह 1971 में रिलीज हो सकी। इसके लगभग सभी गाने 1957-58 में ही रिकार्ड हो चुके थे इसीलिए इन गानों में उस समय का अनमोल संगीत झलक रहा है। फिल्म रिलीज होने व गीत संगीत का यहीं अंतर इस फिल्म के गानों को सुपर हिट कर गया।
पुरानी जिंदगी मिट्टी की घर थी , खाने के लिए भले ही रोटी नहीं थी लेकिन किसी चीज की खोने की डर नहीं, बस शांति ही शांति थी , सुकून की हवा मिलती थी 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

A hidden hero behind the historic songs of movie Pakeezah was it's music director Gulam Mohammad. Don't know why he couldn't get that much popularity even after composing such immortal songs.

The songs were composed by Ghulam Mohammad and after his death Naushad completed the album. Pakeezah was released in 1972 only after Mohammad’s death in 1968.

इस गाने कि शुटिंग के दौरान मीना कुमारी जी की तबीयत खराब थी वो खड़ी होके डांस नही कर सकती थी। इसके बावजूद कितनी अच्छी तरह से एक्टिंग की है इसके कुछ दिनो बाद उनकी मृत्यु हो गई धन्य है महान अदाकारा मीना जी🙏🙏

I played the tape of all the Pakeezah songs to my Iranian friend in 1990 and he found it amazing. I used to know some farsi then and some words in Urdu are from Persian and I explained a few urdu words and he then understood the poetry, which enhanced his experience.

So hard to believe this song is 50 years old...pure class.. timeless... very subtle dance moves and gestures yet so emotionally powerful... this song portrays how helpless Meena is Infront of a very powerful man who owns her...yet she sings of another man she met on a train journey and lost her heart to.
This song was written in 58 when they started to film the movie. The production of the movie stopped half way and was completed 12 years later. Both Meena Kumari and Raj Kumar had visibly aged by then.

Oh! Meena Kumari at her brilliant best. I was in my early 30s and I saw the movie in a Kolkata's New Market movie houses with a few colleagues. I, now 82, still enjoy all the songs of this unforgettable cinema.
I saw the movie in Singapore, now at 74 in USA still love the music clips

I was 17 when I first saw this movie, as a young girl I somehow believed these kind of strong connections exist and nature resonates with your emotions, timeless moments captured n rendered in this song and the way its composed n directed especially the whistle sound of the train in end of the song, such beautiful rendering and definitely it was a movie ahead of it times in all technicalities...yet these things seems like a dream in today's cinema n today's life.
