Haunted New Orleans, Louisiana - The City of the Dead 🎃

  • New Orleans is often called the city of the dead and one of the reasons is because the cemeteries resemble actual cities or small homes where the dead are buried above ground. It’s also one of the most haunted cities in the country.
Several ghost hunters believe it’s the most supernatural city in the United States.

I live part time in the Quarter and while I'm collecting my own spooky experiences, I still look for ghost stories every year. Great job on this. Love this city

A video about my city just in time for Halloween! Love it.
Funny story, I actually used to work at Muriels. I got fired bc they caught me eating the ghosts bread off of the table.
I wouldn't have had to do that if they'd ever remembered I needed to eat during a 12 hour shift, but wasn't allowed to leave the doorway.
    Lol I hated that job.

Thank you for this video! Lovely job! New sub here!😄I visited New Orleans with my Sister last year. Hands down, my favorite place in the US aside from home!
I will confirm it is indeed haunted. Both of us experienced activity in our hotel. I heard a man cough in my ear as I lay in bed.
My Sister heard a woman call her name in our room while I was downstairs.
While we were at an old plantation in Vacherie, LA, we both felt a sensation like being on an elevator going down. This was as we stood under the Live Oaks near the quarters of the enslaved. Very sad energy in that spot.
Strange that we both experienced this at the same time. I highly recommend going to New Orleans, and also the surrounding swamps. The swamps have a feeling to them. You can practically cut the atmosphere with a knife. Same energy I felt in the oldest part of the French Quarter. Fascinating place!
    I will have to return.

I had a dream of a voodoo priestess showing me her altar and teaching me about power...come to find out it was Marie Laveau. I visited NO and was stopped by a painter on Jackson Square who paints Marie. He stopped me and actually told me that I have had a dream about Marie and eventually I will live there because I have work to do. I always pay my respect now and EVERYTIME I go random people ask me "when am I coming home" 😳 I actually have pictures on the grounds of her house which is now an air bnb and her apparition has showed in both 👀

OMG, I moved down to Louisiana for 3 years a decade or so ago when I was married bc my then husband was from Louisiana. I love history & southern Haunted plantation homes. I toured a dozen Plantation houses including the Famous plantation “The Myrtles plantation”, “Rosedown”, “Oak Alley Plantation, The Homus House plantation, and many more. I also visited New Orleans a few times as well. One time while visiting New Orleans I myself stayed at the Hotel “The Bourbon Orleans” hearing it was haunted but nothing happened. However, since I was unfamiliar with the Louisiana culture & history since I’m from North Carolina, I didn’t fully understand nor believe in Voodoo & Hoodoo. One night out in New Orleans, I wanted to go into the famous Marie LaVaue Voodoo shop, so my husband & I went inside. I had felt great all day long and was just fine until a few minutes into the shop when I kept commenting on how “dumb” and “false” voodoo supplies in the shop were. Only 10 minutes into the shop & after running my mouth in there, all of a sudden I felt very dizzy, I started to sweat profusely, and I literally felt sick to my stomach so much that I had to immediately leave the shop. I was feeling badly in the shop for a good 15 minutes, but as soon as i stepped outside on the street, I stopped sweating, I wasn’t dizzy at all anymore and my stomach was completely fine. I felt fine the whole rest of the night and the rest of my weekend there. I immediately knew that I had disrespected the Voodoo Queens of the past and I knew %110 that i fell ill as my punishment for being so disrespectful. I absolutely believe in ghosts, and all paranormal activity. I vowed to NEVER go into that shop again, and from them on I learned my lesson that the history of Voodoo and the Hauntings surrounding all that stuff was very real. The next day I walked on the opposite side of the street downtown NO across from that very Voodoo shop. I noticed the little shop or cafe next to it was called “Coops”, which is my maiden last name. I took my digital camera out and snapped a pic of Coops which included half of the voodoo shop in the frame as well. When I reviewed the pic I had just taken, the cafe Coops came out perfectly taken, but the voodoo shop next to it & connected to Coops I got in the pic was insanely blurry. The two shops in that one pic were definitely distinctly different with one being perfectly clear & the other completely blurry. So I got chills. I convinced myself that is was a fluke and snapped yet another pic of the exact shops. I was SHOCKED!!! Again… Coops was perfectly clear, but the voodoo shop was still very blurry and it had a dark shade over the whole front of the shop. The shop came out so blurry that o couldn’t even read the store name! I was using a digital camera too and both times when I aimed, looked and snapped the pics, nothing was wrong at all. It was only when I reviewed the photos that I noticed the major differences. That sealed the deal for me… I literally refused to even cross the street and walk on the sidewalk in front of or anywhere near that Voodoo shop the rest of my visit that time, and other visits. How CRAZY is that???
