Warsworn: "Polished armor just means you haven't used it yet." Also Warsworn: "You better not have a stain or scratch on your armor." These two lines make me feel like it is required to just look pretty and never go into a fight.
Those comments actually come from Warsworn of two different keeps, whose leaders have quite different leadership styles. The one where the second line comes from is led by a guy who firmly believes that as mercenaries, they must look good, clean and shiny to their clients in order to get more and better jobs. It's a PR tactic. But the guy is also kind of a simple-minded, pretentious prick, so there's that.
Honestly, both are possible. Polished usually means decorative or brand new, untested in battle. Even after being damaged and covered in blood, armor can be cleaned and repaired, but will never retain a mirror sheen or pristine appearance, since scratches and dents need to be smoothed and hammered out to retain function. Properly battle-tested armor can still look clean and strong, but it won't ever be acceptable as parade gear. I do like that other commenters have pointed out the disparate leadership styles in the two different Warsworn Keeps, and that does make sense. The "Public Facing" appearance of the Warsworn needs to be strong, clean, and unassailable for the good of their clients. Proper presentation can mean the difference between gaining or losing a lucrative contract. On the other hand, you would never send a rookie in parade gear to try and actually fight in real combat.
It's pretty great. The combat and multi-class progression mechanics are probably one of the best systems in a RPG of its size. Imagine a Fable-like sandbox the size of Skyrim, with the combat mechanics from God of War.
I dunno, I kinda want to see a Dovahkhiin doing a rendition of the themesong using the Voice. It'd take "blowing the roof off" to a whole new level. "Fus ro daaah, Fus roo dah, Fu Fu Fus, Fu Fu Fu-uuuus RO DAAAAAAH!! Ro Ro Dah!! Ro Ro Dah! Ro-ro-ro-RO DAAAH!"
Well it doesn't matter for mine, after i finished with the guild imma go on a killing spree to eliminate every single man, woman and child in skyrim and solstheim xD
The Minute Men are the most morally sound guild in Fallout 4, except they're constantly sending me to help settlements and that is a sin in and of itself.
The only winning move is to never rescue them. You can still help settlements as you encounter them, and you don't have to put up with Preston constantly nagging you. 😎
Funny enough the minute men is the only faction where you’re the leader. Too bad the game doesn’t express that well enough and just makes you a glorified gopher. always single handily save each and every settlement instead of sending underlings or something
I am more then annoyed that the Settlements you improve still can't help themselves.... Seriously; you have high tech gattling laser and missile towers, why are you calling me back to deal with some feral ghouls?!
@@romnickrosario6048 , There really needs to be a 'Play a General' mod for the minuteman. One where you can assign small squads of soldiers to patrol settlements and respond to these threats on your behalf, all for a cost in resources over time. As you gain more Settlements you get more resources over time, which you can then spend on upgrading or increasing the number of your squads. In patrolling an area you decrease the likelihood of nearby settlements being raided in the first place, and a few well placed over lapping patrols might even reduce this to zero. You know, so it feels like you are controlling territory and not just running from settlement to settlement!
One thing you fail to mention that in Dragon Age, you charters literally has no say in not joining the Grey Wardens. Whether to keep from dying from the darkspawn taint, you parent's oath that you will join if Duncan saves you. Having to flee the city of your birth due to being framed for murder or actually killing those who crashed your wedding or it being the only way to avoid being made tranquil by the Templars, you don't really have much of a choice.
Oblivions Mages guild is definitely worth the membership quest. Cuz, custom spellmaking is ridiculously overpowered. Made a spell combo that 2 shots nearly any mob in the game.
Nope. I made a few copies of a spell with a mix of all elemental damages, all elemental weaknesses, and weakness to magic. Each copy would build on the last, resulting in massive damage. Note: You cannot simply cast the same copy of this spell multiple times to get this effect; you must make multiple copies of the spell.
Agreed. If we're talking crappy guilds to join, that would be the Fighter's Guild. Oooh, I slayed a bunch of goblins and got some gold. I get more gold from selling potions than those scrub quests.
I made one that killed pretty much every NPC in a 19 foot radius and any who survived within a 21 foot radius flee, all while healing myself. It was wonderful
Yeah, but you got a field trip! That counts for...something? I mean, it was a field trip that was very significantly stab and magic and arrow-inducing...that count for a good field trip? Should, yeah? Maybe?
Being a spellcaster in Skyrim sucked, the damage falloff was ridiculous. I think the only way to really do well with it was to Legendary destruction a crap load of times. Maybe they updated that since I'd played year one though. Plus you couldn't create your own spells like in Oblivion. *sigh*
Being a mage in Skyrim doesn't necessarily suck but it's tougher to do because being a mage in Skyrim means you have a bar that determines how long you can attack before you have to run although conjuration and illusion are pretty much the best classes because you cannot be seen and you can bring up enemies and weapons on your side
Joining the Brotherhood of Steel is very worth it. It just makes blowing up their precious Prydwyn all the more enjoyable. Plus, Maxson's got some nice threads to rip off his lifeless corpse. Honestly, did they ever think they could ever stand up to the SILVER SHROUD?!?
"Polished armor means you haven't used it yet" Maybe I'm so agile I don't need to get hit to take down 10 opponents? Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. I can kill y'all damage free.
While I agree that Oblivion's mage guild recommendation was tedious, I always felt joining was worthwhile for all off the resources available in the tower.
And then it's Bruma he decides to attack? Not Cheydinhal where a man gets killed by a disgruntled head of department who wants to do necromancy and you would be next were you less of an unkillable hero?
Indeed in comparison to the College in Skyrim the Mages Guild had better spells, characters, leaders, narratives, side quests, etc... The only good thing about the College is the midden and the things we dont know about it Edit: not talking about the Bards College but the one in Winterhold? That was the right town right?
I was expecting the guild from Skyrim to be the Blades, seeing as they don't really give you anything and you have to kill Paarthurnax to be a proper member of them.
Hayden almighty you still don't join them, being a faction doesn't really change that. You're forced to help each other out because of the main quest line but there's no joining of the blades involved.
Liberty Prime is the main selling point. After getting the mission where the BOS is asking you to help rebuild him, i finally got over the ending to the Broken Steel DLC in Fallout 3.
Evil Cookie And also you have an entire working university at your disposal when you are their headmaster. Not to mention, the university is heavily guarded, has strong structures - Skyrim has a college, yes, but the entire building looks like it's going to crumble any moment you put your feet on it.
i may be a die hard skyrim fan. but after playing oblivion and learning how to make my own spell, i became disappointed with skyrim a bit. have yet to mage for a year
The Brotherhood of Steel was on this list because they hate anything that doesn't look human. The Nosferatu were on this list because they don't look human. Hypocrisy, much?
Timothy McLean I was so sad! Playing as Nosferatu was awesome and hilarious plus if I'm remembering my lore correctly, they make great sorrowful artwork and are computer wizards.
The fact you can blow Masquarade isn't really important, when in second half of the game, Nosferatu becomes unstoppable killing machine, that's invisible for majority of time.
From dodgy poetry to chugging down monster blood, here are the guilds, factions, brotherhoods, orders and clans that are simply not worth your time. Enjoy!
You just needed a bit of ingenuity. The spell crafting was the real reason to enter the mages guild of Oblivion. Even an orc warrior got great result from it, if you knew what to create.
Exactly so, the entire set of guilds were flawed in the start but have great story arcs and bonuses. Well save the crap of the Knights of the Nine where you can't even accidentally kill a fellow fighter in the war against the Deadra without losing all your rewards. Area effect spells and group melee are not your friend.
Synths aren't a race. They're machines you fuckin idiot. Also, would you rather have people kill the people who murder entire families and replace them with spies or vice versa... I don't even play fallout 4 and i know this shit.
Fun fact, even in the years after Altair modified the hidden blade to not require a finger removal there were some Brotherhood cells that still required the finger be severed, most notably the Spanish brotherhood as seen in the Assassin's Creed movie
Okay... so no mention of the Witchers, then? Sure you become a nearly immortal monster killing machine, IF you can survive the training when you're 12 AND the extremely deadly Trial of the Grasses. Then you get to work in an extremely dangerous, thankless job for close to eternity, provided you can live that long.
The Brotherhood of Steel isn't by choice, it's either you join or you get kicked out to the wasteland, it's an illusion of choice. People aren't even forced to join the Witchers, it's voluntary which is why it's a dying profession as there is a lack of interest in it as there are no more witchers being made and it's even widely known to recruits it's a risky process with a 30% chance of survival. Geralt can stop Alvin by discouraging him to be a witcher, Leo joined because he was an orphan with nothing to do in life, Berengar left voluntarily without any persecution.
RuiRuichi but their primary recruitment was the law of surprise which is basically akin to a Jedi Master coming to your home and saying yo bro you're one of us now. Soooo... yes they did have some. volunteers but Lambert and Geralt and even Cirilla were all law of surprise kids. same with Vesemir. I agree, though, Witchers should've been mentioned. or the Spartans.
Liberty Prime DLC's Description: Join Liberty Prime in his conquest of Post Apocalyptic China! Destroys Commies of every Age! The quest isn't over until every Commie is dead!
Now That's a faction I can get behind. Kinda fucking stupid that the Institute couldn't just keep Prime, but instead Destroy him (Spoilers). I'd Stay with the Institutes if they KEPT Prime, and make Tons of him! Imagine Spreading Liberty across the whole Commonwealth with a large army of Primes.
As someone who is currently playing it through for the first time (tried it years ago, but didn't really get into it, and now I finally have) I can say this: The good: - Great classless system in which you can mix abilities from Might, Finesse and Sorcery however you see fit, so you can be a pure warrior, a battlemage, a shadowy mage, a blademaster or mix all of them and be a jack of all trades. And you can reset your point distribution at certain NPCs for a miniscule amount of gold as many times as you like. Go and explore the possibilities! - Good combat system with every weapon having its own combos. The only grudge I have with this system is the fact that it's quite basic - only a few moves per weapon type. This, however, only speaks of the awesomeness of this system - it's good, so I want more :P - Great world and its lore. The team behind the game is the one that created Morrowind, and the world's lore was written by R.A. Salvatore, so you can expect a good thing. Same goes for the visuals of the game that - despite its age - still look good (those were designed by Todd McFarlane - the creator of Spawn). - Definitely a metric fuckton of gameplay hours. If you're going for the sidequests and such, it takes a looong time to complete. I've been playing for over 36h and I feel like I'm not even in the half of the game yet (I'm doing a lot of sidequests and faction quests before pushing the main quest forward). The bad: - Its origin is clearly visible. It was created to be an MMO, and only later in development was it turned into a singleplayer cRPG. It show a lot in its VAST world filled with quite menial quests most of the time. The thing that pains me the most is the "here, have a choice, it doesn't matter anyway" approach. If a quest gives you a choice, it won't matter in the end, really. - Overleveling. This could be bad or good, depending on your point of view, but in general it's impossible not to overlevel the game if you're going for the sidequests. You'll outpace the level of your enemies in the region well before you're done with it. Again, this has to do with how big the world is and the fact it was supposed to be an MMO that wanted to drive the player through all of its areas before the player reached max level. So prepare to deal with one-shot enemies a lot if you're trying to clear the area of quests (that's the bad thing) OR prepare to leave a lot of quests behind when moving on, possibly boosting the game's replay value (which is the good side of the coin). - At higher levels (around the half of max level) you could get bored of your chosen path if you don't reset your points, and that's due to the fact that even though the game offers a ton of different ways of playing, it's only truly visible when you actually try many different ways. If you try and stick to just one, you can get burned out, due to non-stop repeating the same combat moves. My personal advice here: Pure sorcerer, although powerful as hell, can burn you out quickly. I've started as a pure sorcerer, and it basically means spamming Mark of Fire all the time, as it totally outclasses all other damaging skills in the game. - An odd decision of not allowing the player to jump, or at least jump off of ledges other than in very speicifc spots often gets in the way of exploration and sidequesting. Many a time you'll have to do a lot of legwork, and then some, because instead of dropping of a ledge, you have to run all the way around, because the developers didn't think of putting a "drop down spot" in there. Overall: - Even though it has its flaws, it's still a mighty good game that'll keep you invested for hours upon hours, and will provide a good fun during that time. I have my fair share of grudges with this title, but would still highly recommend it.
But that's exactly what makes the mages guild good. You have to prove your worth before joining the arcane university. Unlike in Skyrim where you just waltz up and cast a spell the woman sells to you
WolfWhiteFire, I know but that's not the point. I actually like that option, it allows you to role play power fantasy, something Skyrim is apparently lacking
I was aiming to support your point with that comment actually. I was saying that she can in some cases let you join without you even being an actual mage also.
WolfWhiteFire, ah ye I see where you're coming from. I can see why they would be interested in the db from a magical perspective but why accept you as a student? Now I see it, ye it's a good point. cheers dude
Oblivion's Mage Guild isn't *so* bad. You get to make your own spells in the end, and every spell with the Feather effect stacks. You could be able to carry so much stuff.
Plus you get to Liberty Prime working with you sadly not as a companion but you do have to escort him to the CIT ruins and on his way there he throws nukes at enemies and can also go shoot lasers out of it of his eyes plus two sets of power armor now that's a good deal for joining the Brotherhood of Steel
I feel that the dark brotherhood should be on the list I mean yeah you can kill people for money BUT you have to talk to a dead corpse AND your boss says screw you and tries to kill you
Winter Phoenix ah, Tamriel, where the phrase "talk to a dead corpse" is both a thing you can do and expect an answer, and contains no redundant words... I'm looking at you, draugr, zombies, skeletons
Out of everyone in Fallout 4, you chose the Brotherhood? What about the Children Of Atom who make you drink from a fountain of horribly irradiated liquid water so that you can live in a dingy submarine base filled to the brim with radiation. Or the raiders in Nuka World who force you do go through the worst death maze imaginable, only to then make you their leader, forcing you to do more work; running around to clear every area in the theme park all on your lonesome and giving it to them!
Wrong. The worst Fallout faction is The Railroad. And that's because of sheer stupidity of the concept. Imagine, you live in a wasteland, where you struggle for survival every day. Even in large settlements, you can die of hunger or dehydration. Bandits are constant threat. Any time you get out of your village, you may not see it again, because virtualy everything out there wants to kill you. And living this kind of life, you will start a civil rights movement? Yeah, right. But even if, why is it limited to Synths? Where is League for Ghoul Equality? Or Super Mutant Acceptance Association? You know, organizations, that want better conditions for someone, who's ACTUALLY still human... in a sense. Ghouls, in particular, are pretty much the same person they were before they became Ghouls. That is, until they go feral. Nobody gives a fuck. But when it comes to piles of circuits and metal, suddenly, it's completly different story? No, Railroad is bullshit, and completely out of place. It's like having gay rights activists in 7th century Middle East.
+Jake Johnson The main part of my argument lies in the first paragraph. It would make perfect sense for rich, developed society, such as western world today, to have movement for the rights of artificial organisms. Somebody, who doesn't have any real problems (and let's face it, our problems are laughable, compared to those people had merely century ago, or compared to other parts of the world) may find meaning of life in such activism. And nothing against it, I would probably support this movement. But this is about context. In Fallout world, it just feels completely out of place and forced. This kind of society doesn't have time for big philosophy questions like "can artificial organism advanced enough be considered a person, or is it still a machine, no matter what?" This has priority no. 1254 in the life of someone, who lives in the middle of radioactive wasteland. I won't deny there could be people, who don't belive all Synths are bad, or maybe think they can be pretty human. Hell, a lot of people could even have Synth friends (and don't know about it). But I seriously doubt, under given circumstances, anyone would put time and effort to Synth rights organization. People just wouldn't care. It's not because they're bad, they just wouldn't think about it in the same way, we don't think about right to vote for apes, even though there are individuals smarter than some people. You look at it too much in 21st century optics. That's my problem with the Railroad. Bunch of people occupied with something, that's not really pressing issue, while people are dying left and right. Maybe the Railroad is just a satire of present day activists and I just didn't get it. But if Synth freedom was just one part of their goal, that would be much better. Or if it was founded by a few rougue Synths, and some humans joined later. That would be more believable. Or if they were minor faction, widely considered a bit crazy, but not a really a threat. Btw. inhabitants of the wasteland live in a world, where slavery, racism and barbarism (to use your worlds) is pretty common. And it's humans doing this to other humans. And for Brotherhood and Minuteman, yeah, they are here to help humans but... they don't do very good job, do they? From what I've seen, they could surely use some help with that.
The Railroad mean well, but they're dumber than a box of rocks. The best ending for the Commonwealth in my view is an alliance between the Minutemen and the Brotherhood. You've got the beginnings of a civilian government with the Minutemen and a dedicated (if aloof and slightly capricious) military force backing them up.
You guys really don’t understand how good the Brotherhood of Steel is First of all, the first mission you do with danse allows you to stock up on ammo for your energy weapons, plus a free energy rifle at the end of said mission (which i overused) Second of all, power armor, FREE power armor, most other power armor found in the commonwealth requires you to either go up against an extremely powerful legendary enemy or pick through a master or expert lock And lastly, the vertibirds, call in one of those and you can go from one side of the commonwealth to the other, even if your overburdened (and it’s fun as hell) Of course there is their racism and bias against non-humans but that’s just one of the things that makes them good, don’t believe me? Then board the prydwen with Nick Valentine as your follower, you’ll be drowning in laughs wanna know why? Here is an example of something that made me laugh BoS member: “no machine should be allowed to have free will” Nick Valentine: “why? Jealous cause you had to turn yours in? I died when that happened 😂😂😂
Yeah same I overused righteous authority even when I'm doing a sniper and pistol build. And the interactions are pretty gold too. Alright now onto your causation of racism to the brotherhood (but yeah they do have a bias) firstly they only kill the dangerous stuff (ferals, super mutants and synths (I'll go into better detail on synths)) and synths aren't actually alive (well you could make a case about gen 3 but they are still machines too) they are machines in which are incredibly dangerous if they are left in the wrong hands, ever heard of the broken mask incident? The institute even somewhat admit to it (it's hard to find and I haven't found it yet I only know about via a video on it). My point is that the brotherhood and the minute men working together would be best for the commonwealth.
Stoob Has that’s awesome! Do you know if you did something to trigger the glitch or is it just random? I like the idea of an effigy burning in Solitude everyday....
Not to say the main group is bad by any means, but I honestly enjoy this duo from Outside Xtra a lot more. Their dynamic together and with the main trio is comedy gold in my opinion.
Railroad: Saves Nuka Cola machines and risks there life to do so Minute Men: Just saves farmers from Raiders and Supermutants and has a guy who keeps telling you about settlement in trouble Institute: Basically enslaves synths like how the confederates enslaved the blacks (Also could have use a bunch of synths to go join the BoS's ranks and did an order 66 type of thing) Brother Hood of Steel: Kills the the things that kills humans 99% of the time,
Zachary Norton That's good and all but I'll be willing to have a moral talk about the railroad and how their doing good things Because I have nothing else to do
Wait what? The Railroad sucks because they try to save "nuka cola machines" but The Institute sucks because they "enslave" the machines? Da fuck? One or the other mate. Can't be both.
What about joining the OxBox crew? All it takes is three pints of your own blood, a posh British accent, and dealing with Mike attempting to "stealth" by everyone.
Samuel Passow Easily 100x better, they don't cram storylines down your throat in oblivion and you had to work to even join. Plus it told an interesting story of some dude with a worm fetish...
I liked the mages guild in oblivion allowed you to create your own spells which is awesome. Create 3 different speed spells cast them all at once and sprint ridiculously fast or multiple healing spells and many others
WhammyTime91 But we could find power armor all across Commonwealth. We don't really need BoS Power Armor. Back then in Fallout 3 and NV, we need to join Brotherhood because it is one of the few means to learn how to "use" power armor. But the Sole Survivor here doesn't need the training because he has the Pre-war military training / she has the Pre-War knowledge to use the said Mech
I can get my hands on the x-01 quickly, long before the bos ever show up. on top of Court 35 I believe is the building, there is a complete set of X-01 PA and all you have to do is destroy a couple of bots and the armor is yours. the BOS has nothing on the X-01 PA. So as someone else had said max can jump on a dildo.
"Methatru himself defend you if there's a stain or scratch on your armor." Really now? The others said stuff like, "Polished armor means you haven't used it yet." And "Dust, dents, and scars. That's the Ironfast way." They really aren't the brightest of fellows, are they?
See, the main pitfall in your reasoning is that you think dialogue in KoA is supposed to be in any way logical. Or once in a while just randomly manage to make some kind of sense. Or come within sight range of anything logical. Basically, all KoA dialogue is like Skyrim's Thieves Guild dialogue.
The "dust, dents and scars" and "polished armor means you haven't used it yet" of the Ironfast Warsworn is making fun of the Helmsgard Warsworn. The Castellan (leader) of the Helmsgard Warsworn keep demands that all the members in his keep keep their armor polished (thus the "Mitharu defend you if there's a stain or scratch on your armor") and generally is more concerned with appearance than actually fighting. He is the one that is not the brightest of fellows, and his stupidity and not listening to his member that is smart is how a powerful artifact was stolen. The Castellan of the Ironfast Warsworn is more concerned with fighting ability than appearances, which is why the members say the things they do.
The mage's guild in Oblivion gives you access to the most powerful features in the game, spellcrafting and enchanting. Easily worth doing a few quests.
I mean if I remember correctly, the leader of the mages guild is never there as they're always out saving the world or whatever. Yeah its important but who's going to settle the interfactional disputes?
Warsworn is a good faction for a soldier. Side note, I tend to talk to Ost Ordura long before I meet Tyne Delfric. As for the Warsworn themselves just sitting around. Those are the ones guarding the Keep. It's established early on that the bulk of them are trained and sent off to fight in the hopeless battle in Kluriklon.
You definitely missed the mages circle in the dragon age games. Not only is membership basically required if you’re born with innate magical abilities, but the only way to get in is to be deemed ready for the initiation trial by the first enchanter. Then and only then are you allowed to go through your “harrowing” a ritual in which you are chucked into the land of magic and demons itself, and left to figure out how to escape and complete the trial on your own. Oh, and did I mention, if you’re not deemed worthy by the first enchanter, you’re turned tranquil, meaning that all your emotions are taken away. Or, if you are one of the lucky few deemed worthy of the harrowing, but don’t figure out how to escape in a certain amount of time, or worse, get trapped in the fade or die to one of the demons in there, you are immediately killed by Templar knights, standing by for this very purpose.
the mages guilt in Oblivion is totally worth the joining because you enable the possibility to create your own magic spells, which gives you the opportunity to level really fast, as well as enchantments for your weapons and armor, like 100% chameleon for example what makes you completely invisible for everyone for ever!
the institute are evil yes but sadly there probably the only ones with the tech to turn the world to normal. least if I'm not mistaken once you take charge you can go lelouch on them.
Kyle Trathen and you can also make gen3 synths get treated as humans and convince people to trust institute and then rebuild the city so it looks like inside of the institute and then make and large gen 2 synth group that will gather resources, keep the city safe, etc and then keep on clearing and upgrading the world and also they genetically engineered plants and animals so their ending is best for the world of fallout
I join them also but then I finish the story as the minutemen for some reason. I really like the Minutemen but also like the BOS so I can never decide which story to do.
Well to be fair, the Grey Wardens need the joining to be immune to the Taint. Evil corruption the Darkspawn use to recruit any unwilling living being into the Evil Horde. Not only that but it also allows them to sen- Luke? Luke DON'T GET DISTRACTED!!!! *LUKE RETURN TO YOUR POST!!!!!* Curses! Ellened again......
i think the reason why daveth died is because he drank to much of the darkspawn blood. unlike daveth your warden doesn't chug the blood and takes a somewhat small sip.
Daveth died because it's luck of the draw whether your body can cope with the concoction. It will kill you. The only question is whether you die straight away, or take the long tainting into ghoulhood.
Josh Halford don't feel bad, they didn't reasurch Enuff since they failed to stat that it's the western brotherhood formed by elder max that hates everyone not human, not the waist land brotherhood who where formed by elder Lyons, where anyone can join if your not a super mutant, and follow the rule "the chain that binds" with the fallout 3 dlc you can join the outcast and there is a goul in training.
Alex Dion the Brotherhood is all a bunch of pricks. Lyons' brotherhood is the outcasts because they started playing hero instead of the group's mission statement of "Fuck everyone else, hoard all the cool shit."
Better be evil and join the brotherhood then good and spend a couple hundred hours doing radiant quests for the minutemen. Plus you get power armor. What's not to love?
I joined the Brotherhood of Steel at first given that my character's military experience would draw him to the closest thing until I reached Diamond City, after Maxson complained about me not telling him that I went to the Institute I blew up his head for his coat.
Crimson Raiders anyone? Not only are they hunted by bandits, robots, and not to mention friggin' Hyperion, but their also being stalked by the creatures in Pandora.
Hmmm... as a Slab you die for Brick's entertainment. As a Torgue employee you are most likely shoot by a co-worker. As a Hyperion employee you can be locked out of a spacestation. As a Jacobs employee you are zombiefood. Lets just say Pandora is a really crappy place ;)
TimIgrok why do people talk about visuals/equipment they had??? people should be talking about the atrocities they commited like killing innocent people and raiding local farms or starving civilians
Mage's Guild in oblivion was great. You get to create spells, enchant your weapons, and kill an evil centuries old necromancer who's group is genuinely creepy
Warsworn: "Polished armor just means you haven't used it yet."
Also Warsworn: "You better not have a stain or scratch on your armor."
These two lines make me feel like it is required to just look pretty and never go into a fight.
Polished armour is important because otherwise it goes rusty, seizes up, and is weaker.
To never let yourself get hit.

tbh Ellen's love for kingdoms of amalur makes me wanna play it...
It's pretty great. The combat and multi-class progression mechanics are probably one of the best systems in a RPG of its size. Imagine a Fable-like sandbox the size of Skyrim, with the combat mechanics from God of War.
I know right? Same here.
Kingdoms of Amalur in five words: " _Infuriatingly_ stupid, but kinda fun."
Have you ever played Fable I or Fable II? KoA:R is basically that, but generally more open, and with less silliness.
It's a nice game, although it feels a bit too much like a single player MMORPG.
"I want to join the bards college, I want to join the bards college, I want to join the bards--" said no Dovahkiin ever.
sadly i ran out of quest and mods so i have to do it cuz there is literally nothing else to do in skyrim for me xD
To be honest, role-playing wise the Bard's College is the only fraction that my Dovahkiin would join.
I dunno, I kinda want to see a Dovahkhiin doing a rendition of the themesong using the Voice. It'd take "blowing the roof off" to a whole new level.

Elena Gibbs tbh my Dovahkiin is such a mess, it would probably make the most sense for mine too 😂
Well it doesn't matter for mine, after i finished with the guild imma go on a killing spree to eliminate every single man, woman and child in skyrim and solstheim xD
The Minute Men are the most morally sound guild in Fallout 4, except they're constantly sending me to help settlements and that is a sin in and of itself.
The only winning move is to never rescue them. You can still help settlements as you encounter them, and you don't have to put up with Preston constantly nagging you. 😎
I've been avoiding Preston for ages lol, I see him I run as far and fast as I can!
@@romnickrosario6048 ,
There really needs to be a 'Play a General' mod for the minuteman.

"Thus humans mastered their taint." Ok, but I don't know how what you do in your private time has anything to do with defeating darkspawn.
That and the entire reason you're the hero of the game as you're the only ones able to kill the big bad boss at the end.

For a moment, I thought they were saying Oxbox-sicle.
I can't avoid giggling whenever the Wardens whenever they talking about mastering their taint... Yep, I am a totally mature adult.

You forgot the absolutely terrible magic college in skyrim. One class and i never got a second lesson maybe i did something wrong?
Yeah, but you got a field trip! That counts for...something? I mean, it was a field trip that was very significantly stab and magic and arrow-inducing...that count for a good field trip? Should, yeah? Maybe?
Bards college greater than Mages college.
Taboo BandBC mages college wasn't bad actually, if you do the whole quest line you get some pretty good magical items/equipment
Honestly, did they ever think they could ever stand up to the SILVER SHROUD?!?
what's prydwyn all i can is the word looks welsh
It's the name of their giant zeppelin base.

At least you felt like you earned it.
Indeed in comparison to the College in Skyrim the Mages Guild had better spells, characters, leaders, narratives, side quests, etc... The only good thing about the College is the midden and the things we dont know about it
Edit: not talking about the Bards College but the one in Winterhold? That was the right town right?
I was expecting the guild from Skyrim to be the Blades, seeing as they don't really give you anything and you have to kill Paarthurnax to be a proper member of them.
Riomh Marsh they aren't a guild and you don't join them.
Barrack Osama they just said guild to shorten the title, if you watched the video they say factions aswell within the first minute

Hayden almighty you still don't join them, being a faction doesn't really change that. You're forced to help each other out because of the main quest line but there's no joining of the blades involved.
But..but...but...liberty prime...and free power armor
Liberty Prime is the main selling point. After getting the mission where the BOS is asking you to help rebuild him, i finally got over the ending to the Broken Steel DLC in Fallout 3.

Mages Guild in Oblivion was way better then in Skyrim. You could make up your own spells for god sake. How awesome was that.
Evil Cookie And also you have an entire working university at your disposal when you are their headmaster.
Timothy McLean malkavians are the best. Even if no one listens. But yeah Nosferatu are like playing a different game.
Malkavians are the basis for a vast majority of characters i play in tabletop rpg's (at least the arguing with inanimate objects part)
The fact you can blow Masquarade isn't really important, when in second half of the game, Nosferatu becomes unstoppable killing machine, that's invisible for majority of time.
The Brotherhood of Steel was on the list because they hated Nick.....

Okay... so no mention of the Witchers, then? Sure you become a nearly immortal monster killing machine, IF you can survive the training when you're 12 AND the extremely deadly Trial of the Grasses. Then you get to work in an extremely dangerous, thankless job for close to eternity, provided you can live that long.
It's not ideal, is it XD
You don't join the Witchers, you're forced into it. All of the guilds on this list, you technically join by choice.

Ev1lWays It is super fun!
Its a fun BIG rpg
As someone who is currently playing it through for the first time (tried it years ago, but didn't really get into it, and now I finally have) I can say this:
The good:
- Great classless system in which you can mix abilities from Might, Finesse and Sorcery however you see fit, so you can be a pure warrior, a battlemage, a shadowy mage, a blademaster or mix all of them and be a jack of all trades. And you can reset your point distribution at certain NPCs for a miniscule amount of gold as many times as you like. Go and explore the possibilities!
- Good combat system with every weapon having its own combos. The only grudge I have with this system is the fact that it's quite basic - only a few moves per weapon type. This, however, only speaks of the awesomeness of this system - it's good, so I want more :P
- Great world and its lore.
The bad:
- Its origin is clearly visible.
Overall:
- Even though it has its flaws, it's still a mighty good game that'll keep you invested for hours upon hours, and will provide a good fun during that time. I have my fair share of grudges with this title, but would still highly recommend it.
If only the studio hadn't gone bankrupt ;-;

But that's exactly what makes the mages guild good. You have to prove your worth before joining the arcane university. Unlike in Skyrim where you just waltz up and cast a spell the woman sells to you
Or after some point just tell her you are dragonborn and do a shout like she tells you to, because that totally qualifies you to be a mage.
Now I see it, ye it's a good point. cheers dude
because the mages guild in skyrim are not spread around tamriel though it is better with the university in oblivion skyrim just (face palm on skyrim)
Oblivion's Mage Guild isn't *so* bad. You get to make your own spells in the end, and every spell with the Feather effect stacks. You could be able to carry so much stuff.
Brotherhood of steel literally give you the second best set of power armour in the game and you can get it way before you find it
See, someone else sees reason
Plus you get to Liberty Prime working with you sadly not as a companion but you do have to escort him to the CIT ruins and on his way there he throws nukes at enemies and can also go shoot lasers out of it of his eyes plus two sets of power armor now that's a good deal for joining the Brotherhood of Steel
I feel that the dark brotherhood should be on the list I mean yeah you can kill people for money BUT you have to talk to a dead corpse AND your boss says screw you and tries to kill you

Did you join the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion? probably the best guild storyline, the Skyrim one its not even close
Paladin is a stupid word though.
TheHutchy01 not really. I like it.
Prase Domácí SOLDER HAS FEELINGS TOO
You get Deliverer, though. That should be a reward good enough, right?
Prase Domácí sooo..basically post apocalyptic America is modeled after the Australian outback?
You guys really don’t understand how good the Brotherhood of Steel is
First of all, the first mission you do with danse allows you to stock up on ammo for your energy weapons, plus a free energy rifle at the end of said mission (which i overused)
Second of all, power armor, FREE power armor, most other power armor found in the commonwealth requires you to either go up against an extremely powerful legendary enemy or pick through a master or expert lock
And lastly, the vertibirds, call in one of those and you can go from one side of the commonwealth to the other, even if your overburdened (and it’s fun as hell)
Of course there is their racism and bias against non-humans but that’s just one of the things that makes them good, don’t believe me? Then board the prydwen with Nick Valentine as your follower, you’ll be drowning in laughs
wanna know why? Here is an example of something that made me laugh
BoS member: “no machine should be allowed to have free will”
Nick Valentine: “why?
A bug in one of my play throughs means King Olaf gets burned every single night.
Railroad: Saves Nuka Cola machines and risks there life to do so
Minute Men: Just saves farmers from Raiders and Supermutants and has a guy who keeps telling you about settlement in trouble
Institute:
Basically enslaves synths like how the confederates enslaved the blacks
(Also could have use a bunch of synths to go join the BoS's ranks and
did an order 66 type of thing)
Brother Hood of Steel: Kills the the things that kills humans 99% of the time,
Zachary Norton Synths are machines. machines are not supposed to think it is a human.
Yeah thats why I always join BoS.

That's good and all but I'll be willing to have a moral talk about the railroad and how their doing good things
Because I have nothing else to do
Or how Muslims did eastern Europeans for 100-300 years....
Wait what? The Railroad sucks because they try to save "nuka cola machines" but The Institute sucks because they "enslave" the machines? Da fuck?

Back then in Fallout 3 and NV, we need to join Brotherhood because it is one of the few means to learn how to "use" power armor. But the Sole Survivor here doesn't need the training because he has the Pre-war military training / she has the Pre-War knowledge to use the said Mech
Yeah, that's the traditional logic of joining the Brotherhood. They don't have a monopoly on it in F4, though, so Maxson can go jump on a dildo.
WhammyTime91 friend call bos assholes
my response: POWER. ARMOUR!!!
T-60 is the most common PA, and X-01 is easy to find on highier levels.
Franz Luggin they call me dirge because it's the last thing you hear before I put your head in the ground
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN
"... before they put you in the ground." A dirge is a form of sorrowful chanting/singing that is usually reserved for funerals and the like.
The Castellan of the Ironfast Warsworn is more concerned with fighting ability than appearances, which is why the members say the things they do.
it all depends on which Warsowrn keep you are in when you hear those comments
The only appeal of the Brotherhood of Steel was Buzz Lightyear, but then he leaves after they find out that he's just a toy.
we need to build a Great Big Beautiful Death Star and make the rebels pay for it.
IN BLOOD
Aaaand Luke's ratings shot right up. Did Jane splice him some cat genes when he wasn't looking?
The mage's guild in Oblivion gives you access to the most powerful features in the game, spellcrafting and enchanting. Easily worth doing a few quests.
Not to mention the leader of the Mages' Guild in Oblivion just sleeps all day.
I mean if I remember correctly, the leader of the mages guild is never there as they're always out saving the world or whatever. Yeah its important but who's going to settle the interfactional disputes?
Holy moley, a furry!
@@FrostSylph they didnt lol reference the brumas mages guild
@@TheCoCAmbassador Holy moley, a communist!
the brotherhood is worth it, i think
when they say the Brotherhood in stead of the institute
Patriot McPatterson,
BOTH!
@@jacknedry3925 nah just the institute and the railroad tbh
No wonder why Luke liked the catnip mod of skyrim so much he must be part cat
About the fallout part, which side are you on?
and another thing, do you have a giger counter?
Is this our February 2017 reminder to play Vampire the masquerade bloodlines?
the mages guilt in Oblivion is totally worth the joining because you enable the possibility to create your own magic spells, which gives you the opportunity to level really fast, as well as enchantments for your weapons and armor, like 100% chameleon for example what makes you completely invisible for everyone for ever!
I almost always join the brotherhood of steel in fallout 4
Nicholas Newman agreed.
the institute are evil yes but sadly there probably the only ones with the tech to turn the world to normal. least if I'm not mistaken once you take charge you can go lelouch on them.
I joined the BOS because of the sick Zeppelin and elder Maxon's sweet jacket. #AdVictoriam #LibertyPrime
I joined every clan in fallout then terminated three.
jay cost yes. I destroy everything but the brotherhood
Riley Gannon fuck the minutemen and Preston Garvey
Preston is always sending you on quests for no reason out of nowhere he's done plenty of shit to be wiped off the face of the earth
Leonard Church thank you. If I were able to let him die in Concord I would gladly do it in a heartbeat
Leonard Church fuck Preston and everyone that looks like Preston
You forgot the Sith Order... Someone's always trying to stab you in the back.. literally.
You are correct Kingdom of amalur IS THE BEST
GLORY TO THE BROTHERHOOD
Slugga Boy ADD VICTORIAN!!!!
AD VICTORIAM BROTHERS!
AD VICTORIAM!
sorry i blow up you balloon. ps totally was not an accident i did it for the railroad
Ad Victorium!
*LUKE RETURN TO YOUR POST!!!!!*
Curses!
Also, using a Dalish elf as an example was not the greatest idea. The Joining is the only thing that saves a Dalish player's life.
Epsilon program-GTA V. Paying for nothing xD
Nikola Peh also known as Scientology IRL.
But at the end of the missions you can choose to bail with all their money!
Take that cultist-freaks, kiplow(?)!
Kifflom.
The Mages Guild was absolutely worth it.
Seriously, I wish joining the College of Winterhold was more like that.
@@frankgrimes7388 thee college of the winterhold questline was so fun ngl
Did you guys forget how the dark brotherhood of Fable two made you eat baby chicks to get in??? I know I haven't ;-;
i honestly thought it was a waste of time. i have played fable 3 and 4. planing on going to just press play to do 5. 3 is so far my fave
Thumbs up if you want to hear more of Luke's Shakespeare renditions.
Thanks guys. Way to make me feel bad about joining the Brotherhood of Steel.
Josh Halford Ad Victoriam brother =(
Josh Halford don't feel bad, they didn't reasurch Enuff since they failed to stat that it's the western brotherhood formed by elder max that hates everyone not human, not the waist land brotherhood who where formed by elder Lyons, where anyone can join if your not a super mutant, and follow the rule "the chain that binds" with the fallout 3 dlc you can join the outcast and there is a goul in training.
Alex Dion the Brotherhood is all a bunch of pricks. Lyons' brotherhood is the outcasts because they started playing hero instead of the group's mission statement of "Fuck everyone else, hoard all the cool shit."
Dude - they're the same one. Max takes over from Lyon between 3 and 4 and 'refocuses' them...and they easily already know all this.
Better be evil and join the brotherhood then good and spend a couple hundred hours doing radiant quests for the minutemen. Plus you get power armor. What's not to love?
"So it was that the first grey wardens drank of darkspawn blood, and mastered their taint- why is everyone laughing?"
I joined the Brotherhood of Steel at first given that my character's military experience would draw him to the closest thing until I reached Diamond City, after Maxson complained about me not telling him that I went to the Institute I blew up his head for his coat.
Does Ellen like Kingdoms of Amalur?
Mega Monkey That's like asking "does a horse like carrots..."
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was an amazing game i hope they make another sometime
You wish has been answered
I forgot how salty OG Oxtra was - and I am living for it.
Crimson Raiders anyone?
Not only are they hunted by bandits, robots, and not to mention friggin' Hyperion, but their also being stalked by the creatures in Pandora.
Aldie Truman I'd say the Cult of the Firehawk is even worse, all they do is go round setting each other on fire.
Hmmm... as a Slab you die for Brick's entertainment. As a Torgue employee you are most likely shoot by a co-worker. As a Hyperion employee you can be locked out of a spacestation. As a Jacobs employee you are zombiefood.
Lets just say Pandora is a really crappy place ;)
You forgot the guild that is your american unit in modern warfare 2, where if you are called ramirez you have to do everything.
I think we can all agree that Ellen Rose looks pretty damn cute
Day 1 of having a maybe too big crush on Ellen
Nice job keeping that classic Bloodlines audio quality. XD
From all the factions in Fallout 4 the brotherhood of steel is the best (storyline, items, etc.)
Maybe *your* brain is wired for social interaction Luke.
Me, I prefer to stay out of cults.
the brotherhood was fine in FO4. Have u seen that Zeppelin ?
TimIgrok the Maxonberg
I prefer the BoS in Fallout: New Vegas compared to the BoS in FO4.
TimIgrok BoS was best in 3
me, tinker tom, and deacon had fun blowing that thing up
TimIgrok why do people talk about visuals/equipment they had??? people should be talking about the atrocities they commited like killing innocent people and raiding local farms or starving civilians
Mage's Guild in oblivion was great. You get to create spells, enchant your weapons, and kill an evil centuries old necromancer who's group is genuinely creepy
