      Coffee cream ... but how much do you think he would normally pay his workers ?
      It says these people donated what he paid them to his favorite Charities but maybe the money they donated should have gone to pay a higher salary for his future workers ?
      Maybe if he paid enough ( or instead had health insurance for them ) a couple people would want to work there regularly ... my guess is they weren't being paid enough ... I could be wrong though..... if so , would you or someone else please enlighten me ?

    I'm happy the store could stay open but theirs other things that weren't stated such as the hourly pay, hours per week etc.. It's not that people don't want to work a lot of it has to do with that people don't want to work minimum wage jobs anymore well one of the reasons I'm assuming

      As Steve said many are not even accepting their pay but donating it. But I understand the minimum wage part as Vermont is an expensive state to live in (housing, taxes, home heating oil, etc) and one would need three jobs to make ends meet.

    • @serpentines6356
      @serpentines6356 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, and having to pay the "living wage" will either make the store go out of business, or make everything more expensive.
      Dems want to tax everything to the hilt, and now, they paid people to not work. That is plain stupid.

    Something doesn't add up with this story. Is this a retirment community? Why is it only retired professionals helping? I have my theory but it would sound like a bitter lower class worker if I said it. Affordable housing in the community would solve the worker shortage. Just saying.

    What they are forgetting to mention is the fact this town is refusing to invest in housing for their towns workers, these people are all part of the problem, when the median rent price for a 1 bedroom is over $2,000/month I am not surprised we are seeing these problems. I worked at Dan and Whits and I know the power Dan holds in our town. Step up Dan and vocalize that your workers need a place to live too.

    Yes sir. Except its not a “sometimes”. Its all the time! There is so much hatred amongst people that the only time those hateful will lend a helpful hand, is when they too will be affected by it.
    Take hurricanes for example that flood a whole community. That flood will get everyone to help one another because it is affecting all of them. Not just one person.
