Mattel would be stupid to drop the WWE License. WWE is Mattel’s best license. Also I wouldn’t hate Hasbro having the WWE License in the event that were to happen. McFarlane would suck with the WWE License.
If Mcfarlane did we would never get figures of female wrestlers ever again
@@palletlover8519fax
McFarlane would be TERRRRRIBLE
No it’s Barbie. Matteo makes Barbie bro.
I don’t think McFarlane would be that bad. I collect their DC figures and Vehicles/accessories and they’re great.
There are toy companies that don’t own the property but always made the toys. Playmates toys has been the master toy license holder for teenage mutant ninja turtles since the 80s. I don’t see Mattel or WWE wanting to end this partnership. There is no reason too. Mattel really puts a lot into this line. Also Mattel doesn’t have many big lines outside hot wheels, Barbie and He-Man which are all in house brands. A lot of smaller companies could knock it out of the park as there are so many amazing smaller toy companies now. The biggest issue is cost of the license. I’m sure WWE/TKO would ask a hefty price and how many companies can or want to pay that price.
@@davidnerdy4323 Playmates would be an awesome shout! Imagine the rings and playsets they would come up with
Yes, imo, WWE is to Mattel what Marvel is to Hasbro. Even when they had the DC license.
I would immediately either buy wvery fig I could find, die, or both.
As long as it's not Jazwares...I rather Jakks Pacific make a comeback 😂
I’m curious why you don’t like Jazwares 😂 the easy customizing could go crazy with wwe. Hopefully they’d use realistic face scans tho
I honestly couldn’t even imagine selling or getting rid of my collection of Mattel figures and starting over with a whole new brand, that might be the point that I just stop collecting period.
I also keep the packaging and have it butt faced with the picture of the wrestler with the figure on the end, but couldn’t even imagine if it switched brands, that would mean even the packaging would change.

Dude. Straight gospel on how good Mattel figures are. If you would have shown me ultimate edition anyone when I was 12 (26 years ago) I would have exploded. We are in a golden age of wrestling figures rn. It's bonkers.
I been thinking about this since i started collecting 4 years ago. Mdt actually the main one who got me into collecting to be honest. So for me, i think if mattel drop wwe, i would stop collecting wwe figures as whole, maybe dabble on some of my time favorite wrestler but other than that, i would move on to other lines i been anticipating to get
Hasbro would kill it. Their face printing tech on the newer MLs are crazy good. Look at that Wolverine that is coming out
They make mortal kombat figures right, if so I 💯 % agree with you
I miss the micro aggression line from late 2000s an mirco impact. An the 3 inch mini figs from the 90s that came with ring cage and weapons when I started collecting it was just mini figures at 1st.
if hasbro took over it would be 2010 all over again. going from beefy jakks figures to these scrawny mattels was crazy
New fear unlocked: Mattel stops making WWE action figures
Jada Toys Would Be The Best Bet Honestly 🤷♂️ They Have Been A Company Since 1998 , They Do A Lot Of Diecast Scale Cars and Vehicles but been Dipping In To Action Figures.
Spinmaster is also one to be on the lookout for. Their new Playstation line is looking good.
A Jakks pacific comeback would be awesome. Obviously Mattel is the best, but having grown up with Jakks and witnessing the transition between the two companies it’d be cool and really the only scenario where I’d continue my collecting.
Spinmaster just started making more collectible type figures with their Playstation line, just like Jada came out of nowhere with the Street Fighter line after years of doing cars. My point is that it could be a company that hadn't done this type of figure before. Interesting topic, MDT.
I was concerned that the TKO merger would affect the Mattel licence down the line, but Steve and Bill have really upped thier game in the last few years, and with Magic jumping ship from Jazwares back to Mattel, things are only going to get better!
If i had to choose a hypothetical successor to Mattel though, I would have to say Super 7 or McFarlane
I was hoping that would also grant Mattel the UFC license after Jazwares did nothing with it. Instead it went to McFarlane, where they're only going to do statues.
@@brandonamezquita4501 UFC figures are a hard sell. WWE has a richer history with bigger and brighter characters to sell, and over the top storys and scenarios. It lends itself to action figures whereas UFC is a genuine competitive sport. Very hard to sell
@@thishandle_isnotavailable Yup. I know people say that kids don't buy toys anymore, but they definitely buy WWE guys. UFC is less kid friendly. Jakks did do a nice line way back in the day though.
Don't put these bad thoughts in my head
I'd like to see Mezco make some WWE figures. Imagine -seeing- a Cena with soft goods jorts, shirt, and gear. Or Undertaker or Kane with soft goods.
Hi my damn toys are you going to make a horror set up for halloween
imo mattel makes the most realistic feel of a figure, like the WWE figures feel like im holding a shrunken version of the character i see on screen yk? personally if they dropped the license id stop collecting fosho, but also just the idea of after market hurts my head lmfao like the price of any first time in the line figures would be so busted especially if they were one and dones like for example lets say Carmelo Hayes never got another elite, bro the price to get the OG would be so messed up. let alone the red gear chase😂
I think Mattel is in too deep to drop the line anytime soon I could see them dropping elites or that style of 6 inch figure
I doubt Mattel will drop them they make way too much of a profit If they dropped the line I would stop collecting all together and just hold on to my Mattel figures if jakks picked the license again I wouldn’t mind but sh figures or Mafex I would cop but not like dat
I've caught myself asking this question to myself and others...Good vid. 💯
Naw.
If WWE left Mattel they would still be making figures.
Mattel doesn't hold the market for the most definitive figure.
Another company can make figures just as good.
I don’t see it
I would collect all the mattell I could and hope that the next company has good articulation
How did you watch a 12 minute video in 2 minutes?😅
@@thishandle_isnotavailable we’ll never know
Bro is overthinking.
I remember when Jakks stopped I stopped I didn't wanna collect the same figures all over again and I didn't until 2017 I used to see WWE figs at Toys R US and laughed saying people still buying these? That's how I feel about the McFarlane DC Multiverse once that stops I'm done.
I dabble with Joes too. Just the main ones I loved as a kid and the ones that pop out at ya. 💯
The wrestling figure line that needs a change is AEW in my opinion. Either Jazwares needs to step it up or they need to find another toy company. Literally every AEW figure I see in the store has a terrible paint job. Especially the face. It always seems misaligned. Plus the sculpts are very hit or miss for me
What's up with Ringside prices lately? $24.99 for Basics (Main Event Series)?
instead of seeing the pictures and randomish footage, i’d rather see mdt himself speaking in front of the camera
Gotta be real if Mattel ever drops the license that might just be it for me collecting after having the figures and everything that’s been released that last 15 years.
Both Mattel and WWE are the best for each other, hope never ever break the toys deal.
The 2 main figures I’ve always collected are wwe elites and marvel legends, so i’d love to see Hasbros take on wwe superstars. Would be sweet to have a Roman Reigns to go with my avengers shelf plus I loved the WCW toybiz line 🔥
I wouldn’t stop, but it would be sad
I won't lie,I'll keep collecting 💪😂
When it was announced that Mattel was going to be taking over the WWE figure line from Jakks Pacific, I didn't like the news one bit. The thought of having to re-buy every WWE figure that was already in my collection, it just made me want to quit collecting WWE figures, and I actually did for a while. But eventually I came around and started collecting the Basics at first, then a few Elites here and there. If the WWE was going to part ways from Mattel, it would be a huge mistake. But if it did, I would probably quit for a while, then start up again after I see a figure that I like?
All I know is my Hasbro Harrison Ford, Tom Holland and Hugh Jackman heads look a lot more like themselves than my Mattel Bret Hart does, and they can put each other in more convincing sharpshooters too. Give me a Hasbro Summerslam 91 Hit Man and Mr. Perfect deluxe two pack and I'm in.
I've been collecting the last 4 years, love mattel wwe figures, love how the figures look and great packaging, will be a sad if mattel loses wwe figures
I really love the spider man figures from the movie! Toby McGuire spider-man ! Articulation was terrific! I can do all sort of wrestling moves with them!
Time for McFarlane to make a whole wave of wrestlers
Cena
Roman
Seth
Hogan
With Andre the Giant as a build a figure but, they’re all jokerized
If I can’t find this TMNT Cody for retail I’ll probably stop collecting. Ridiculous to make this an exclusive line
Mattel is legit the Cream of the Crop ..
Ooob Yeah!!!!
Dig it!
#RIPMach '
Three main factors for this, Scale, compatibility and proportion. If the new license holder can seamlessly merge with the previous line, I think a lot of collectors will continue.
I agree with what others have said about Mattel being in too deep to drop the line
Short of hasbro i dont think another company has the funds. An entire new lines worth of new tooling would be a huge expense. Itll happen one day but probably not for a very long time
Drop the license so big rubber guys Matt Cardona pick it up
I got several wcw toy biz figured.including sting crow sting wolfpack scott hall kevin nash macho man wolfpack. Rick steiner
Jakks Pacific was the best action figure company for WWF/WWE
I could see jakks pacific maybe getting the license for wwe if it was ever available
If Mattel drops, I’m out. It’s a fun hobby, but not something I would feel the need to start all over again. I’m too old to start over and this current generation of stars is most likely the last I will be following for the long term.
I very likely would either quit collecting or I’d take a big step back and see for a while what they’re doing and what their direction will be for long term. I stopped collecting in 2003/2004 because I didn’t like these R3 and Ruthless Aggression style figures. It wasn’t until around 2015 when I thought of the idea of collecting again as an adult but I hesitated because as a young man, I wasn’t making much money. Then in 2022 when I saw Undertaker and Kane’s UE figures and how amazing they look while at Target, that got me to get back into collecting 18 years later and now I have hundreds of figures.
I think I’d be too bummed out to rush into getting new figures. I probably would try to sell my collection if it is something that I can no longer add to now that they’re no longer making Mattel figures. I’d probably slowly but cautiously buy some new figures after some time when I organically become interested in the new stuff.
NECA doing wwe would be the tits
Don't be crazy Brad metal has made Barbie and Hot wheels for way over 50 years so don't be suprised if you're grand kids grandkids ain't seen the end of it
I own a bret hart bone crunching loose figure 1996 i got at a retro collectors store back in march
Today i finally found latest ultimate warriior figure wwe legends elite greatest hits and warlord wwe legends elite greatest hits as well as a hulk hogan survivor series 89 as well
Interesting subject matter brad, I would still collect I do believe! Thanks MDT!
Mattel makes great toys for wrestlers. I love Diamond, McFarlane, Neca, etc but they're not as playable if that makes sense. Hasbro stuff is, but they're largely trash unless the sculpt/size is really unique like the power rangers Lord Zedd & Finster.
I think it would be great if hasbro made the figs, marvel legends are much better for the same price, more articulation and accessories, only problem is they use cloth goods less often
Can’t wait for Jazwares license to expire. Hopefully AEW goes to Hasbro and that’ll put a stop to Padawer’s Chase / Rare exclusive fetish
If they were to ever lose the license I would love for hasbro to pick it up. If for any reason they don't I wouldn't mind jada toys. Look at what jada toys is doing with street fighter
I hope Hasbro loses the marvel license
Hasbro figures would probably fit in perf w Mattel's and probably be better
You forgot about super 7
Nah super 7 sucks when it come to wrestling figures
Omg, their Andre the giant fig was awful...
To me the only company I'd like to see take over the WWE line would be Jada toys. I've bought the Street Fighter and Mega Man series and for the price you get a decent amount of accessories and the toy itself has a lot and great articulation. They're made out of quality material. The only thing that is a downer is that they put a wave or 2 a year. I've been impressed with every figure I've bought by them.
Hahaha, I typed this before you got to Jada Toys in the video!
Jakks Pacific would be my pick
neca could make some really great wwe figures they already make great figures now i love the horror figs they make
yes everyone would be pissed, just like when jakks pacific stopped making wwe figures. then everyone would start buying whatever company picked up the licence.
I think Neca would be peak
U resell figures? If so what are ur links to buy MDT
I tried to switch heads from power rangers figures from hasbro to the wwe figures an they were lose which sucked an some of the wwe heads didn't wanna come out to switch to the power ranger head like I wanted to put green ranger head on dx xpac but the head wouldn't pop off haha failed
Awesome Video MDT This Was Great
I would collect either way
Only people i.would think is jakks if still around
They are still around (Super Mario, Sonic, Simpsons).
I grew up.wit jakks
Can you please make another horror set up 🙏
Not anytime soon they make a hole lot of money from these figs
nope i want mattel to keep wwe alive forever,
Omg
Anything but Hasbro! Hasbro figures are hot garbage.. Marvel legends figures are one example... limited accessories, bad proportions, overpirced, gummy weakling joints, cheap looking plastic materials.. Hasbro sucks!!!!!!
WWE the black series?? 😂😂
Great video
No, just no!
Noooo oh it was if
