Hi, I'm Chris! Welcome to my channel. I react to movies & tv shows hoping to represent what it's really like to experience them for the first time. If you enjoy, you can support me by liking the video, subscribing to the channel, and letting me know your thoughts in the comments.
What was that ending? I can't say for sure, but I think someone is at war with someone. Things are definitely escalating and I can't wait to see where this story goes!

You touch on something that was very key to the show (and it's success.) The showrunner and writers (including the book authors) made it a point so that every episode tells its own story, before setting up the next one. This one is a perfect example of that; you get a story about how "technology changes everything", you see Naomi's journey to deciding/realizing that she needs to take a side, etc... and then it sets up the next ones.

From the books, about Solomon Epstein's fate:
"With a good scope, you could still see his ship going at a marginal percentage of the speed of light, heading out into the big empty. The best, longest funeral in the history of mankind."

Wow! There were so many important but great moments in this one!
From Holden telling Fred there shouldn't be any sides! Amos helping Alex. Chrisjen raining hell fire speech about JP Mao but also indirectly toward Erinwright! Amos telling Alex that the way he perceives the world " There's three types of people, bad ones, ones you follow and ones you protect!" Interesting, Amos isn't someone to follow and he doesn't need protecting. Which one is he?
IMO Naomi just betrayed her family by not getting rid of the Protomolicule!
You expression to end of the episode was great!
    Really enjoying your journey!!

Not sure if you picked up on it, but Avasarala's speech around 16:00 is not just her talking about Mao's family she's also implying the same threats to Errinwright whom she suspects is in on it and working with Mao.

And also - hidden little detail - Avasarala deliberately left the door open to his office when she made that little speech. She wanted others to hear it too.

I believe the 137 years ago story was from a short story. There are short stories, in addition to the books, which are adapted as well.

The final scene on Ganymede is purposely confusing. We learn more and more through the following episodes

  • @Yesquire0
    @Yesquire0 7 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

I don't think the show touches upon the subject, but Ganymede is hugely vital to life in The Belt, so much so that neither Mars nor the UN is willng to cede all governing authority to one side or the other, so their is joint control and clear boundaries by, I would assume, a treaty. that clearly sets borders on the ground which are guarded by troops on both sides of that border, and those troops require "air support" from spaceships in orbit.
Ganymede is big supplier of food to The Belt, and in the books it is explained that pregnancy requires gravity, so pregnant Belters go to Ganymede for at least the latter stages of gestation and remain there until birth. Ganymede is too far from Sol to grow crops, so mirror have been placed in stationary orbits above the domes to focus the sunlight on the growing crops. We observed at least one of those mirrors destroyed by ships' gunfire, with the pieces falling to the ground, and presumably onto the domes underneath the stationary orbit mirrors. As to how much damage occurred, we presently do not know.

Maybe the story makes you consider that only 2 episodes per week is not enough

Funnily enough, in a different reaction today I talked about how much I love taking my time going through these shows vs binging them. I never finish a show when I get watch too fast, and I love the current pacing of the channel. For now the expanse is getting roughly 6 episodes per 4 weeks. It will eventually get 2 per week every week. 🙌

@@CasualNerdReactions Well, if you like to take a break between episodes, you'll have plenty of time to think. Expanse deals with interconnected events, politics, human relationships, in a very interesting way. You'll often find yourself thinking and thinking about what happened.

Nope, had no idea there were books until I started the show.

@@CasualNerdReactions Truthfully, I prefer the show (at least covering the first 3 books). I haven't read beyond that.
