Not so much "in love" as love. Being in love is generally about infatuation but love is a passion or admiration. So, I love Frampton but I'm not in love with Frampton.
I just finished the book today. I cried at the end. I didn't want the book to end. He didn't disappoint me. I hoped he wouldn't. He is great! Just like I thought he would be. He is funny. I knew that about him. When I was reading I could hear his voice in my head. I'm just so glad that someone I have loved since I was a teenager is such a great person. I feel so lucky to have been a teenager in the seventies.
I just started reading this book yesterday (12/5/2022), and by page number two I was astonished. Carol, my earliest childhood friend was 'JD', the very one that Peter Frampton sent to Caracas, Venezuela, to search for his lost, beloved, Les Paul guitar. My late older brother was also a singer/songwriter/guitarist, and 'JD' was working for him and his band before he was hired to work for Peter Frampton. I first met 'JD' when I was five years old, and he showed up at my house when I moved into the neighborhood. 'JD' and I (and my brother) had a close friend who also worked as a 'roadie'. His name was Joey, and he worked for David Bowie and Peter Frampton in 1987 during The 'Glass Spider' tour. He once retrieved a lost, stolen, Les Paul guitar for my brother. 39 years after he worked for Peter Frampton, 'JD' showed up at my brother's deathbed the day before he died. Carol, would you like to hear a song that will make you cry? My late brother wrote this song while he was on tour with Jimi Hendrix-and he's playing the guitar on it (an acoustic): From Buddy Miles' "Them Changes" album: "I Still Love You, Anyway". You can this on youtube. Enjoy.
I was 11 when dad brought home 45 of Baby I Love Your Way...own it still. Got Frampton Comes Alive for Christmas in 76 and have that too.. A wonderful talent and person.
I was - and still am - such a big fan of Peter Frampton and saw him at Anaheim Stadium in 1976! Just received his beautiful book yesterday. Knowing that he has held this book, autographed it, and wrote it from his heart is so touching. I'll always be a Frampton fan~ 💘
Spot on....there are some great guitar players out there but none compare to Peter Frampton..........he played with real feeling & that guitar talked. Marc Bolan was the reason I started playing guitar & Peter Frampton is the reason I'm still playing - 50 years later.
Even my Father who would have turned 87 in April earlier this year had Frampton comes alive when it came out and it would be on constantly in the car when I was 15 years old and I absolutely love that album and when I play or hear that album I think of my Dad who was also my best friend, and we played Show me the way at his funeral when cancer took him from us in 2013.
I never gave up on Peter or stopped liking him because he was not "popular" as he used to be. He is a great guitar player with a distinctive sound and seems like a really decent man. I too have become a grandfather and I think Peter, like me, will find that to be one of his favorite roles in his life.
Just finishing Peter Frampton's excellent book--one of my favorite Christmas gifts! Lots of interesting stories, cool pix and 'behind the scenes' of one of my favorite guitarists & performers. Highly recommended! Blessed to see Peter Frampton perform live on his 'Farewell' tour when it came through St. Louis last year. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Tribute opened the show. Both artists were outstanding. Attending the concert with my son ... priceless!
Frampton is a legend and a great soul! My best wishes for a healthy life, including being on stage again! Thanks Peter for all the good moments of my life with your music as a soundtrack!
I'm not too proud to say when Peter goes, I will be very sad and have a long cry. Not only for his incredible Musical Gifts, but above all else, he is a kind, humble, and passionate Human Being ♥
I found that quite emotional actually. I had just watched Bowie and Frampton on their walk through Seville for MTV, i wasnt aware they were lifelong friends before this vid but they seemed to get on well, i see why now, two great musos, and two fine examples of English Artistic Gentlemen. Bowie deserved a Knighthood imo, a great ambassador and a great intellect to boot.
I enjoyed that MTV video of their stroll through Seville too. Bowie was very witty and Frampton was enjoying it all. Frampton played in the Just for One day online Concert commemorating Bowie, which was phenomenal! Jan. 2021. So interesting to hear how deep and far back their friendship reached.
Great Musician,Guitarplayer,Singer and Writer and human being. One of my longtime favorite Artists🎵Thank you Mr.Frampton🙏I'm wishing you the best for your health so that you can play guitar forever. GOD BLESS YOU🙏🎵🙌🎵🎸🙏
Welcome to the Grampa club 'Frampa!' Love that. I've had the pleasure of seeing you perform many times over the years and loved every show. Last year I brought my son to see you play here in St. Louis. Jason Bonham opened. Great show as always. Time with my son ... priceless. Your book is on my Christmas list. Can't wait! UPDATE 1/2021: Peter Frampton's book is a must read! I couldn't put it down over the holidays. Highly recommended!
He was as fabulous as ever in the very recent online tribute concert for David Bowie. It was pure joy to watch him play & hear him sing again that night. So happy to know he’s known as “Frampa” now. Being a grandparent is really the best! All the best is what I wish him now & forevermore. You are truly loved, Peter❣️✨💘✨
It is so beautiful to learn about lifelong friendships, in this case two of greatest artists in music world. I started enjoying Frampton because of my sister. Later in the late 80s we loved Bowie in his suits. I love them both!
Me and my buddies used to ride around in '76 jammin with "Comes Alive" on 8-track for hours. What a Guy - what a story. God Bless you, Pete. Praying for a cure.
It's a wonderful book. Having enjoyed Peter Framptons music since I was 12 (having an older brother has many benefits 😊) I listened to the audio on Audible, Frampton reads it to us. Many suprising stories, lows and highs. Highly recommended.
Love Peter Frampton since I was 13 when I heard Framptom Cames Alive for the first time...and when he came touring in Brazil in 1980, that was a dream came throught!!!
This is my little way of saying thank you from my heart for your likes and comments on my personal and fan pages. I and my management are saying a big thank you. Much love from me to you and your family. We Appreciate All Of It.
The first time I heard Frampton was live at Winterland in SF in '74. REO opened and in the head between sets someone mentioned how good he was and how he was going to blow the Doobies off of the stage. I thought "yeah right"-but what did I know? So my first taste of the Frampton magic was in front of some cranked up Marshalls and his Les Paul Black Beauty baking my ears! Oh my God, pure heaven! I will treasure that experience forever! And for the record he did blow me away, I will diplomatically say it was a tie between Frampton's Camel and the Doobies. What a show--he always loved Winterland and of course much of Comes Alive was recorded there. What a legend, fine guitarist and yes, a very nice, humble guy! All Hail Peter!
Love the story behind all the musicians! We have had some great musicians and need to know about their past. That’s all we have left, if we grew up with them 🥲
Loved him since I was 5 yrs old. I would sit on the floor and stare at him on the front of Frampton Comes Alive. My dad had good taste and passed it onto me from a very young age!
My friend Kelly & I listened to Frampton Comes Alive repeatedly one summer at the Cape. We were obsessed. I still love that and love him! Be well Peter!
No wonder he stopped touring. I always thought they'd have to carry him off stage like they may Clapton for their love of playing. But i guess there are quite a few things in life that can take you off your stage. My favorite guitar player, wish him the best.
I saw the glass spiders tour and didn't know it was Peter on guitar at the time, not until many years later did I find out. Bowie always had great musicians and especially guitar players with him.
I heard PF songs all day every DAY growing up...my sister LOVED PETER FRAMPTOM...I hated PF...my sister died....now I hear PF...He's f.cken Great...a GOAT GREATEST OF ALL TIME....need less to say PF always reminds me of good times...and my sister....
Never got into Frampton Comes Alive but absolutely love him on Humble Pie’s Rockin’ The Fillmore. Been playing that one regularly for decades. Nice one Peter.
Frampa? I love it. Don't worry Peter. You will always be one of the best guitarists ever. And yes, I will still always be one of those little girls in the 70's who fell in love you and still is.
I don't know what his problem is. Anyone who saw him with Humble Pie knows what a great guitarist he is. So Peter, listen to yourself on Performance and you'll stop questioning. I saw you at the Marquee Club in London in July 1970. Steve and you constantly making the crowd crazy with some of the finest playing ever. You'll always be a hero to us.
I saw PF and one of the shows in LA at the Anaheim stadium. It was the first rock concert I went to with just me and a girlfriend. It was quite the experience. Glad to see after breaking his hands that he is able to play still!
Iconic. Gratefully saw him at Winterland as a support act (Doob's, Montrose..) then headliner but a fan back to Humble Pie's "Rockin' The Fillmore" in '72. the crash,,,penny for.... I want the book.
Faltam palavras para expressar o que ele significa para mim. É parte da minha vida, do meu coração, desde 1976. Um amor que só cresce! Rezando, com muita fé, pela sua recuperação!
What is it about Peter? He just seems like one of your uncle's because he's so cool!! Me and my girlfriends had the biggest crush on him and we all went to see him at the Anaheim Stadium in1974.That was really fun we walked up front and he smiled at us!! He was so adorable, still is!!
It’s odd but when I think of Frampton I still envision him as that kid I saw many times over back in the 70’s/80’s and I think we’re only a year apart in age! LoL He came to my city of Long Beach, CA quite often which was no where near as populated then as it is now. Us young ppl actually had to find things to entertain ourselves.. there was only one movie theater in the down town area, there is an actual Olympic pool with high diving board that they’d allow us to jump from feet first only once in awhile, it’s costed all of fifty cents to spend the day there. Exploring the Queen Mary ship was free until one day we tried to get on board and we were stopped by a security guard with a warning and told we were allowed to proceed but the next time there would a whopping charge of seventy five cents! LoL I can only imagine what the fee is now, I hear it’s not cheap and you can’t really explore the ship anymore without taking the tour. The most loved form of entertainment we had was the Long Beach music arena, we were heavy into “rock” music so if someone was playing within that genre, we bought tix even if we didn’t always know who the artists were. I went to see Journey once and walk away loving the opening act (ZZ Top) even more and I hadn’t a clue who they were beforehand, if you can imagine that! LoL Those were some good times. Last time I saw Frampton he actually performed on the Queen Mary deck (festival style) along with a bunch of other rock artists. He seemed out of sorts though, not sure but I think he was on something. It was the only time I can say that his performance was not on point, he would start a song and stop mid-way to throw his arms in the air requesting that the crowd cheer him on which was cool at first, we just thought he was doing it to get the crowd ramped up but then it became awkward and noticeable that something else was going on. Oh well.. he was young, impressionable and stupid with his choices sometimes, like we all were at that age. He obviously made it through the chaos. The man is a great talent and an icon. Again, good times. 😊 🤟🏼🎸
Anyone who grew up in the 70s was and will always be in love with Peter Frampton. 💕💥💕
YES!
Or us unfortunate ones born after 1970 that weren't able to see him Live in 1977 ! :)
You know it!!!!
Not so much "in love" as love. Being in love is generally about infatuation but love is a passion or admiration. So, I love Frampton but I'm not in love with Frampton.
I still Love Frampton ❤❤❤ My First Concert. Will never forget!!!
Peter's talent can only be eclipsed by his warm personality.
I just finished the book today. I cried at the end. I didn't want the book to end. He didn't disappoint me. I hoped he wouldn't. He is great! Just like I thought he would be. He is funny. I was at that show, it was great!
@@davidmcintier128Who knew that 44 years later we'd both be in another Frampton fan arena? Merry Christmas! 🎄
He seems to be a genuinely nice person. He doesn't have "the big head". Plus, no other can compare to his guitar playing.
Well-said Gigi !! ♫

Yes.....very nice...lost my dad in 1999......I did not know it , but growing up as a kid....my dad was my best friend......
Cool story Steve. Your dad sounded like an awesome, open minded guy.
Great story, thanks for sharing!
So very sorry for your loss Steve, may your Dad's journey be a very peaceful one. and by the way; your dad would very proud of your comment.
Peter Frampton, was and still is a genius... KUDOS! 🤠👍

I love this. He is genuine - the real thing - a favorite and a huge talent in his own right.
I have loved Peter Frampton ever since the 70's. What a SWEETHEART!
I love him... such a decent soul...
I saw Peter a few years ago in concert with Steve Miller. Great story teller as well as a great musician. A wonderful man.
Frampton is a legend and a great soul! My best wishes for a healthy life, including being on stage again! Thanks Peter for all the good moments of my life with your music as a soundtrack!
Thank you Mr. Frampton for your music and for sharing your story. Truly inspirational.

Of course David was there for Peter, David had a beautiful and loving heart and soul.

Frampa? I love it. Don't worry Peter. You will always be one of the best guitarists ever. And yes, I will still always be one of those little girls in the 70's who fell in love you and still is.

Peter Frampton = Guitar genius!
Growing up in the 70s all my friends had Frampton Comes Alive. Great Album.
A great guy.
From the Underworld by the Herd
Mesmerizing song
Great gtrplayer
My best memory of Frampton was when he sang the duet with Bowie "Sons of the Silent Age" in LA Forum in the mid 80's, Glass Spider tour.
Frampton IS the GOAT!
Love Peter
I saw him with Humble Pie and three times as a solo act.
Again, good times. 😊 🤟🏼🎸
Awesome man, awesome music!!
I saw that show at Madison Square Garden. It was awesome!
Excellent book!
I love Peter Frampton since I was younger when I knew Rumble Pie...
Here's Billy Shears !!!!!
Faul
Frampa! 🧡
His Grammy award is consolation for not winning an Oscar for his starring role in the "Sgt. Pepper" film.
