George very much missed. I was very lucky to see him with Ravi Shankar in Seattle Washington 1974. Awesome. But when I saw the Beatles in August 31st 1965 at the Cow Palace San Francisco. That was a big deal for an 11 year old
In the mid nineties George was seen twice in Golden Bay Tasman New Zealand. A kind of shangri la which he loved. He was seen eating on a bench near his car in a lay by. He than was seen in the local vegan cafe the Wholemeal Cafe. A guy approached him and said, are you George Harrison the Beatle and George replied.... I used to be. Delia Morris
After that interview in 1986 George didn't give the world (dog with three legs Beatles-reunite) but he sure did gave us Traveling Wilburys. Beautiful man and spirit.
George always seemed very happy to chat with Australian reporters. I think they brought out the best in him. Maybe he just felt on holiday when he was there and in Hawaii.
George saying "three old men" when he was maybe 43, which is still quite young. Think it's kind of crazy how we saw age back then. Even crazier to think how much George had done, seen and lived in that time.
Something similar happened in a radio interview in the 60s, they asked him to repeat the word 'bracket' that he had pronounced in another previous interview, it's adorable how he repeated several times with that unique accent he had especially when he was young, unparalleled and very exotic as his first wife once said.
The incredible level of talent and beauty of George's songs became very evident when his friends and associates performed them in the "Concert for George". George didn't get any help from John, Paul, and George Martin. When his friends and associates produced the songs for the Concert, they sounded amazing.
He certainly was an average man, but he possesed the musical genius and the simplicity and wisdom to put it under the rug and not use it as his value as a person. George certainly was a great person.
My God, knowing that a Beatle noticed you but was too reticent to approach you to say g'day. Just shows how much George values other people's, plus his, privacy.
I am 72 in australia 🇦🇺 1964 they came to brisbane and changed my 12 year old life. Always in trouble ever since with the long hair and anti authority smart ass piss taking ❤
1:09 "What about these ever-persistent rumours about The Beatles getting back together, any chance of that?" 2:01 "Because if you go by the reports, it's Paul that is pushing to get you all back together, is that right?" 2:57 "Well seeing you got yourself and Ringo getting together, would it be a good idea just to get Paul over just for a couple of numbers?" I'm sick of the reunion questions just from this one interview - imagine being asked about it all the time.
That interviewer is interviewing the wrong person. He doesn't know jack about George (nor the Beatles, for that matter) and is completely disengaged. When George reveals that he's going to record a new record next year, it's like if George was saying that he's going to buy a new pair of shoes; it goes completely unnoted. If he was the right interviewer, he would be excited to hear about it. Ironically, that album George is referring to (Cloud Nine), would be his best album after All Things Must Pass; a great album...
Very pleasant and interesting guy when he wasn’t pontificating about the meaning of life. But I hope he found whatever it was he was looking for. It’s a shame he had to leave so soon.
No he means The Beatles had a hit with Twist and Shout as it was their performance. The Beatles never claimed to have written as full credit was given.
3 old men ... George, you were only 43 in this. Not *that* old. Besides, Paul is still singing those songs and he’s pushing 80! But I get it and I appreciate them not cashing out on the Beatles thing excessively. Reissues are one thing, but if they had gone out as 3 of them, it would’ve been lame.
Lol, yeah and i saw Freddie Mercury the other day, he was out grocery shopping. He said the reason why he won't tour with Queen again is because he thinks Adam Lambert is a much better performer than himself- and that was true!
"I haven't told Ringo yet, but he's gonna play on it" lol
George very much missed. I was very lucky to see him with Ravi Shankar in Seattle Washington 1974. Awesome. But when I saw the Beatles in August 31st 1965 at the Cow Palace San Francisco. That was a big deal for an 11 year old
Suggests a good deal about their relationship...
thats how brothers are lol

wow. that is amazing insight and fantastic history account. love it :-)
that ‘mmm’ in 1:07 just calming my mind
That's his signature sound...🤣😂
Just love him ❤️
The interviewer kept with the Beatles reunion nonsense. Ridiculous. George was quite patient and gracious with this guy.
After that interview in 1986 George didn't give the world (dog with three legs Beatles-reunite) but he sure did gave us Traveling Wilburys. Beautiful man and spirit.
Absolutely with or without the Beatles. George was the for many reasons
He met me at the Grand Prix when I was a race mechanic and marshal.
That made him famous.
wow. you are blessed to have met him
lovely George.
George always seemed very happy to chat with Australian reporters. I think they brought out the best in him. Maybe he just felt on holiday when he was there and in Hawaii.
yeah. he had a home on Hamilton Island
❤️ Loved George since 1976 when I fell in love with him while watching ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ on tv when the BBC showed it in the Summer of 1976.
That's how I fell in love with him. Only the movie was on KPBS in San Diego, California and it was 1995.
Believe it or not I developed a crush on George aged seven when they came to Dunedin. New Zealand. 1963. Girls eh? Delia Morris

they started so young and made it so young too... i guess 40 was over the hill LOL...
What a funny and sweet fellow,GeoRGe was.Love and miss him dearLy.
George Harrison. Top man. Great humour.
yes very down to earth guy
I want to hear George Harrison try and pronounce the name Ferris Bueller again.
Haha
Something similar happened in a radio interview in the 60s, they asked him to repeat the word 'bracket' that he had pronounced in another previous interview, it's adorable how he repeated several times with that unique accent he had especially when he was young, unparalleled and very exotic as his first wife once said.
Love his humble soul , ♥️
bless him. very humble
Nice guy
George always struck me as the most “down to earth” of the Fab Four.
yes. he was very down to earth everyday man. i think his upbringing kept his head out of the clouds
fab three in this case now. I love this interview.
yes great old long lost interview
Thank. You. George
.
:-)
His hair is amazing, I love this look he had.
yeah. he was timeless
George's music is underrated; mighty talented.
You got. Hit the nail on the head

George didn't get any help from John, Paul, and George Martin. When his friends and associates produced the songs for the Concert, they sounded amazing.
for sure. Something was one of beatles greatest and his solo work too
Fav beatle❣
yes. ringo is mine
That was cool.
I would totally watch that reunion lol
The greatest: George ❤❤❤
George was indeed. 😆
Funny to think he’s likely talking about “When we was fab”, which he and Jeff Lynne called “Aussie Fab” at the time
aussie fab.... very interesting in hindsight
George considered himself an average guy who just happened to be famous.
He certainly was an average man, but he possesed the musical genius and the simplicity and wisdom to put it under the rug and not use it as his value as a person. George certainly was a great person.
yes. very down to earth man. he likes living in australia too
yes. they say a lot rubbed off on him, but you don't write songs like he did without talent... Somthing was all time best song I think?
"Then then and nows now"
very true
The Greatest. George ❤❤❤
My God, knowing that a Beatle noticed you but was too reticent to approach you to say g'day.
Just shows how much George values other people's, plus his, privacy.
yes. sad how his privacy was invaded when he got stabbed.
I love how he says rumor so disdainfully. So funny.
he was very witty and down to earth

thanks for highlighting the sections. very cool of you and super helpful
The person who wants to escape the Material World works with the Material Girl. I’m not complaining.
Loved George Harrison's dry humour,,😆
that's what I was thinking too. very funny guy
Same. Always brings a smile to the face.
So even after John Lennon's death, idiots were still asking the surviving Beatles if they would reunite?
Well, they did only 8 years later
Wouldn't have been the Beatles

yeah. the willisees weren't the best interviewers back in the day
Good interview👌👌
Really nice man
yeah. he seems like a genuine bloke
В 1986 году родилась моя дочь ... Просто параллельно. Джордж в Австралии, в прекрасной форме, улыбка замечательная. Респект!
Это ещё что! Я сам родился в 1986м!
До сих пор в шоке! 🥳😄
Very pleasant and interesting guy when he wasn’t pontificating about the meaning of life. But I hope he found whatever it was he was looking for. It’s a shame he had to leave so soon.
yes so sad.. I was at abbey road when he passed. i stood out the front.
I always think of that 14 year old kid playing Raunchy on the bus.
haha. he was a genuine guy
He's 60 here I think, nice guy very genuine.
yes. he came from working class backgroung like the rest of the fab four... very humble and nice guy
Or 43 years old
he was 43 here, he didn’t make it to 60. passed away at 58
The Album he referred to was Cloud 9? Great album
Why does George look so ill in this video. He was still relatively young but look old. Still love him and the other Beatles.
Probably got to do with the 4 packs of cigarettes a day habit
@@wheres_bears1378 Aged him a whole lot and ultimately took his life. It's a shame.
Really old soul, who started off very youthful. Which is why he left early. They also did a few substances. Delia Morris
He means the Isleys had a hit with Twist and Shout since it was their song.
No he means The Beatles had a hit with Twist and Shout as it was their performance. The Beatles never claimed to have written as full credit was given.
The Isley Brothers didn’t even write it either it was just where the Beatles heard it from first
3 old men ...
Dam straight
George Harrison (Liverpool, 25 de febrero de 1943-Los Ángeles, 29 de noviembre de 2001)
80 años
58 años
22 años
grazios
The best Beatle.
I like Ringo
@@robcoinRacist
why is him saying ferris bueller so funny lmaoooo
it is funny. its a classic movie... Bueller... Bueller
He consider himself old at 42
haha.. yeah... i guess they made it young.. and had a full live by the time they hit 30
4:24 She's a drag, a well known drag
lol.. madonna
The Guy looks a lot like Brian Epstein
Omg yes
you mean the interviewer.. haha he is one of the Willisee brothers.. famous Australian family of journalist
George wouldn't like to see Paul still singing the old songs and pretending to be the old Paul.
true.
Paul and Ringo go on tour performing their old “Beatle songs” with great success!!
Very well said. Ditto on that
George looked the same til he died
yeah. he never aged :-)
He was the one that did all of the aging back then and stopped although Ringo kind of did too.
He was way overdue for a teeth cleaning otherwise he looks great here -- RIP
What an awkward interview. It was painfully awkward to watch.
Agree. Willesee's questions were so cringey.
George handled it so well :-)
What a horrible interviewer Terry Willessee was. Thank God he has disappeared from the scene. I bet George regretted agreeing to do give up his time.
lol, the reason why Geo and Ringo didn't go to Live Aid was bc they knew QUEEN was going to upstage them- and that was true!
Imagine if George,Paul, Ringo and Queen made a song together. That would be sick.
Um, ok.
Lol, yeah and i saw Freddie Mercury the other day, he was out grocery shopping. He said the reason why he won't tour with Queen again is because he thinks Adam Lambert is a much better performer than himself- and that was true!
Enough with the Queen nonsense…
Or if Freddie had filled in for John to create a here band. They could have had some amazing new songs(40 years ago)
