You guys are so good with kids!
We love kids 😁 they are the future!
That's nice, thanks for sharing from my beautiful country Cambodia🙏
Thank you! It’s a beautiful place 😊
Wow! The beach and the sunset there look very beautiful, where is that place? Look so peaceful. I really like your videos that you’re making in Cambodia.
Thank you very much! That place is called Angkol Beach
Me and my siblings used to sell flowers in one of the local markets in pp, because we were super poor. But our parents needed helping hands. With our helps they were able to do a lot more of other things and saved up enough money to send us all to college. Nothings wrong with helping those kids. There may be some who take advantage of their children, but a lot of time its because they struggle. Despite all the work we had to do on top of school, i am still grateful for my parents. But I can also understand from your pov. Enjoy watching your vids. Thanks for visiting Cambodia!❤
Very well said, @tso716 . I respect your point of view too, Steve... If the kids are working selling during their off school hours, I think it's okay. But, how do we know... It's a tough call.🤔
Hi, guys. Just watching your series videos recording about Cambodain daily life make me smile always and I can't just help myself stop smillings 😅❤. Thanks for great loves to the people. Plz, stay safe from traffic and enjoy the rest of your incredible trips in the country 🇰🇭. I can tell the people love you guys so much even when they cannot contact with you in English but you can see their smilling faces mean alots more than just language barrire. ❤ Love you two... ❤
Great trip!
I love to explore simple life in Cambodia, with Khmers kindness and friendliness
Me too!
Very inspiraring
Glad you think so!
Enjoyable video ❤! Happy to watch you complete a couple of tasks. Also excited to see if we meet Kim again at your hotel. And what a beautiful beach . . . wish I was there instead on this 10" of snow. Stay safe and healthy, my friend ❤!
Loving this TuK Tuk tour, you're showing us
Glad you’re enjoying these videos!
I worked from kid too and i really thank to my experienced. I feel better than young generation nowadays that they using only phone.
Poverty cycle in that part of the world is very serious. If the family is dirt poor, that family will do anything even their children have to help out.
Sharing is caring 🎉
It's true my friend you do a good job my man thank you ❤❤❤❤
My pleasure!
Thank you Steve for support my country🙏❤🇰🇭 . Workers they don't understand what you mean you can use Google translate 🙏
You made a great video, Steve, about Cambodia. Thank you.
Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Good morning both of you ❤
Good morning!
Steve you should go see the Preah Vihear temple!
The brick workers don't know English so they said Khmer to you and said no to you. They say no they want to tell you that they do not understand English, not mean that not allow you to help them
We love this idea! We see the kids selling on the streets, all the time, in Mexico. We always say no but also don't love doing so. We're going to start giving them gifts, too.
"Don't stop! Every video is a step closer to your dream. Keep going!"❤
The thing about kid selling stuff is that there are both the good and bad side. There are many family in Cambodia mostly from rural area where they have to send their kid to the town to get better chance in life. Those family earn less than 10$ a day as a family and the only way their kid can study in the town is by working part-time, selling stuff, doing some easy service. And the bad side is when the adult use them to earn money. You can't tell them apart but if you talk to them for a few minute you can feel which is the real student trying to earn money for their study and which are being abuse by adult to earn them money.
They don’t mean that they don’t want your help. The man that said "No" mean he doesn’t understand English. I hope you use Google Translate to talk to them on your next trip. 😍😍 Thank you for such a great video!
looks like you are in Kep. hey you are doing the right things with the kids. I do the same.
❤❤
Steve, At the brick wall layman, you should use Google Translate to ask if you can help. The guy might not speak English and he just said "NO". I heard about story with refugee coming to America. Police asked do you want to go to jail. The driver said "YES".
😂😅😂😢
Angkol Beach is nice. I like it better than Kep, over crowded. Angkol beach is where the locals go, the wife and kids love to go swimming there
That is so cool how you ended up at Kim's restaurant... We called it "faith"... Lol😂
Yes! Faith brought us there :)
Nicely done
The "no" from construction guys were saying "They don't understand English". They would have let you help if you ask them by using Google Translate
The guy from the restaurant was sooo grateful for that tip... i love seeing that! You don't see that type of gratitude here in America unless you tip them like $50 on a $20 bill lol
It’s true. People seem to be very open with their gratitude here in Cambodia. It’s really nice
3:42 Agreed with you.
25:00 you can do it in Da Nang 🇻🇳 it's the only place (that I know of) in SE Asia where it's illegal to sell stuff on the beach. Also, the beach is absolutely stunning
Ohh very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
God bless you, both. The guy was saying no,not that he doesn't want to help,he was saying he doesn't speak English 🤔
Ohh! Thanks for explaining that
the brick layer guy was like,” they going live, so i gotta be more active and do it more neatly!”, when the guy in the blue shirt was yelling at him why he going so fast😂
also, the cement mixer guy said “no” as in no understand english. most of the times, when u ask to help with anything, they will mostly always say, yes.
Ahhh that’s so funny! I was just nervous I didn’t want to bother them haha but that’s funny knowing what they’re saying
When out on street to sell items the family are strungle. They do go to school but they are out to help family in between school. The kids who family are financially secure they won't out on the to make living.
Sorry my friend he don't understand what you said thank you❤❤❤
It’s ok. Thank you
4:22 We local people also try not to buy stuff from kids. We believe it's good not to do this.
I’m glad we share the same opinion
Would you rather those kids going around stealing or robbing?
@@Kaveman-n4eare you encouraging these parents to continue to send their SMALL kids under 10 years old, to sell stuff on the streets?….the streets, where they can get hit by cars, kidnapped or killed?….come on now. this is not what you want to continue and there’s NO EXCUSES for the parents.
In my opinion, it’s 50/50. They don’t sell all day. They sell things when they are free from studying, and that money really helps them go to school. In the Cambodian countryside, when we are free, we also help our families with various tasks. I’m pretty sure their parents won’t let them miss school because, from what I’ve seen in Cambodian families, they make sure their children can go to school even when they have very little.
don't hate their parents, don't the kid but poorvbrty. nobody wanted to be poor.
In Cambodia the kids does not steal from you. They are trying to make an honest living heping out their family. Kids with family that have money they send their kids to school. If the family does not have money the kids help with farming and other family businese. If there is a factory the kids goes to work like normal adult. If there is a tourist area they try to earn money from the tourist area again they don't steal from you. They is no right or wrong like in America with kids assistance it a grey area they have to help themselve.
I would never give money to those kids doing nothing but ask for money but kids that selling stuff I can’t say no knowing it’s not good still I can’t 😢 most Cambodian parent they can’t give kids good better education yet they have like 4 to 5 kids roaming around
He was said no he was mean to said no English
Oh whoops!
Kids are there tactics and there probably doing it to survive or to get enough for a meal 😊
You right say no to buy something from kids because they're parents use them to make some money
Haha, the cement guy said he couldn't understand what you were saying. Then when you said no, he just repeated after you. He probably would have let you help if he understood.
Hahaha it’s ok 😂
Haha the guys shoveling the cement and laying down the bricks..when they noticed theyre live on camera they jokingly said "I must make it look nice and neat while on video".
That’s funny!
I buy from the kids because they and their parents may not make enough to eat or go to school. In the US, we have family that only one parent works while another stays home. In some households, both parents work multiple jobs and can’t make ends meet meat. Don’t like to see children hunger anywhere…
❤
The reason that cambodia children need the money to go studying the kid try to find their future , and that's the reason.
They have been working hard for their family.
the local all natural rice is the same in the market. i don't know where you got that miss information. I mill my own rice and it looks the same, all white.
Hi Steve Alana🇰🇭
Hey there! 😁
Sorry because they don't know English only yes or no i think. Sorry for that, if they understand what you say they will let you help 🙏
It’s ok!
👍😎
the guy who building brick thought u going to live him on internet so he acting to keep doing more faster just like he enjoying his work so maybe he can doing his job inside airplane or in western country 😂😂😂 its was funny 😂😂😂😂
He said no because you ended you sentence with “no?” He wanted to tell you “no English”
Yea he just repeated me 🤷♂️ oh well
I don’t think the brick workers understand English. I don’t think they know what they were talking about
Yea it’s ok I didn’t want to bother them
@@SteveYalohe said No meaning that he didn’t understand the language.
Good ideas to give kids gift instead of just crazy $$$, but most of their parents r too poor it’s why they were Helping parents like crazy, so sad to see this oftens!!! fyi
Hey Steve, you are completely wrong about child labor in Cambodia. It is nothing like homeless people in the USA. These kids can't afford to go to school nor do their families have enough to eat at times. So they hustle to help their poor family. Buying from them helps them and their family survive. So please, understand the difference in poverty there as opposed to here in the states.
Steve you're one of the khmer now lol
❤❤❤❤
Pink Dolphins in that area!!
Oh where can you see pink dolphins?
@SteveYalo Prek Tnaot, Trapeang Lpou, and Changhon fishing communities from what I'm seeing
Steve, you are total and completely wrong about the kid selling stuff. Most if not all of them do it for the sake of cultural poverty kids. If their family is poor, the kid is always wanting to help out their parent or risk feeling sinful. In my town back in the 70s, they were a few poor families. Their kids help their parent out in many ways. The kids who sold you a product, mostly made between 5% and 20% depending on the merchants' kindness. The rest were working around the house and so on. It turned out, most of these kids earn high grade in school. In capital, they were some gangsters forced orphan kids to sell stuff or even did pick pocket. If got caught, they would pay a heavy price.
dont mine them theyre just kids
He didn't say no to you two. He said no as no English, not speaking English.
Oh 😂 whoops!
Yummy
i went there and screamed ALLLLAAAH AKBARRRR!!!!!
Wow.. crazy. You crazy girl.
