The auto shut off is supposed to work by monitoring the battery voltage rather than a time delay if my understanding of the makers blurb is correct. I believe it's meant as a feature to prevent forgetful riders knackering their battery rather than a conveniece.
You're right that is the purpose and how it works, however in practice I found that the grips stayed on for a consistent amount of time (about 2 minutes) after the ignition was switched off. Overall a great bit of kit, amazing that you can set independent temperatures and the max settings are pretty warm. I hope they bring out a set for ride by wire throttles!
Thanks for the info, been considering a set for my (cable throttle thankfully) Thruxton. As you point out, they look right on these bikes. Be interested to see how they perform and last. Cheers
For £80 best upgrade you can buy. One word of warning - if you ride with them on strong for short rides (20 mins or less) the battery will not recharge fully. I had one instance of the battery going flat but otherwise they've saved me a few times getting caught in the cold!
These are no longer than 'standard' length grips. I wouldn't recommend trimming them as you may mess up the heating element. It would be better to reposition your switchgear if possible.

How long are these grips? Wondering if their too long and will have to be trimmed. I have a Versys.

Did you get these? I have a Versys 1000 and am between these and the Koso Appollo's.
