When i was playing for my high school and club team at the time these had just came out. Being mainly an adidas and pantfolo guy i was intrigued by these and had to get some. I bought the berry ones off a buddy of mine and instantly fell in love. The vapor 4s are hands down the best because of the coolness factor and the stud pattern.
Vapor 4 is easily my favorite and made me fall in love with boot design. BUT I own the Orange Vapor 4's in SL and they are CRIPPLING. The pink heel pads are a nightmare. I own the Glides in the Charcoal colour and they're a 1000% more comfortable. Would love a re-issue in these without the pink pads. Hint Hint Nike. Anniversary is coming up .... great review Josh.
I remember these being super sticky you could and you could even hear them squeak. I can't believe they weighed that much, to this day one of my favorite Vapors!
My favorite is definitely the Vapor IV Euro 2008 Black/Blue Kangaroo Leather edition. Arshavin in these boots were the bright lights of the tournament.
Just went to my basement to find my old citron Vapor 4's. They're in great condition due to not being able to use them after all the blisters... Going to try them for practice again in a few days tho, looking forward to it. Best looking sneaker of all time. Best shoe of all time are the yellom T90 Laser's I had back then.
I ended up cutting them with a sharp blade back in those days, funny thing was that my foot adapted later on. I’m searching online rn for a pair of pine green and it’s pretty pricy! These boots are best looking ever you have a treasure in ur basement bro!
@@novak1015 legit they should make a legacy model. Teijan upper without blister pads, lace cover, and the new modern zoom air outsole and this thing would be a top tier boot
Josh, I was given to understand that the pads were added because professionals had heel problems with the III and that was Nike's solution to the problem.
The vapor one in that gunmetal silver and red combo, I've never been a Nike shoe guy, I've always worn adidas but I bought a pair of those just for fun and wore them like 5 times, I hated them but LOVED the look
vapors 3,4,and5 were the best ever made compared to the rest they were made way better than any on the newer versions and didnt rip or fall apart as easy

To me it was a really cool looking shoe, but especially being accustomed to the really narrow fit and snug toe box of the mercurial 3, I didn't like the wider feel of these. And with the cover over the laces it was always hard to really tighten the laces by the toe box, always felt like a little too much space there for my liking. Happy that the vapors went back to a narrower snugger fit again.
Hey Josh, I have these cleats in the pine green colorway. Do you have any idea why mine are made in italy rather than bosnia? Not to say I'm complaining.

Vapor 3 no question. Great fit and feel and the white/gold and red colorways were probably the most beautiful shoes of all time

If you want a take down model. I would choose either the CTR360 Trequartista III or the Nike Tiempo Mystic IV.

the vapor 3 in the either white or metallic silver colour way and had the red fade in the heel, mainly worn by Thierry Henry.
To avoid blisters simply stick some athletic tape on the skin of your ankle. The friction rubs off the tape and not your skin.

I had the Sl versions of this vapour and I think that it is by far the best vapour I've tired even beats the new vapour 9s!
