I really enjoyed this style of video. It's great to see that there are still so many Mercy enthusiasts out there, despite the content drought... All of these tips are very informative, and I learned something new even though I've been playing Mercy since launch.
My personal Mercy tip as a 4200 main support player, learn when to go brig :) forcing mercy isn't always going to win games, even if you are not dying and are getting a good amount of damage boost and rezzes in, she isn't a universal hero as she can't really do anything to stop a dive, where brig works out most of the time, and just because she has quite a high skill ceiling that people can achieve doesn't mean she is a perfect pick in every scenario and can lose teamfights and games by not swapping.
I think Animetic has done a great job creating educational Mercy content since Overwatch's release, but it is great to see fresh/diverse perspectives because one perspective can only get you so far. Thanks for making this video Niandra!
I use Valk for when my team is in sigm’s Ultimate and I’m not, Hanzos for when he is aiming at me, Winston,Genji, So about anyone who is going to kill me that won’t snipe me down because Honzo would be busy with there Ultimate and such, I just have to hope that they don’t have a soldier and a window that good and don’t have Ultimate
I don't really understand how you drift during guardian angel. I was practicing and the way I was able to do it is by pressing a directional key and space at the same time. I also found out you drift more if you hold it. Does anyone know if I am doing it right?
Fantastic video! Rez should be an ultimate change my mind. It should be a muli rez within the default small rez range. So it's rare to rez more than 1 or 2 unless your team coordinate the specific spot to die. And the cast time should be doubled Chain heal/damage boost should be a 6 second ability. But heal is halved from 50 to 25 and damage boost 15% instead of 30%. I think this would make mercy alot more fun to play and to play against. Alot more skill based too. Tell me what you think? Am I bonkers
i wish more mercy players would stop being so defensive when people say stop healbotting and use damage boost...it makes me hate other mercy players when i see them only heal
Dude that's exactly what I was thinking. During all of the video I was like ''Am I being prejudiced or are they all either girls or feminine guys?'' At first I was like that's weird, but now I think I'm the weird one lol. I always play support and we needed one in my friend group and I started maining her cause the movement is super fun.
@ktm1125 rank was the most meaningless thing back then, I was stuck in diamond and got bad teams a lot and then 5v5 came out and I ended in GM1 and was about number 200 at the end for season 2 of OW2 practically one tricking mercy like usual.
Super off topic but I don’t know if it’s just me not seeing it clearly but it looks as if Aqua is aimbotting on the Pistol for Mercy? Like I’ve watched it a couple times and it looks as if the program is struggling to hit the target and stay locked because it’s a projectile and he’s moving his mouse off just slightly, but it looks like it’s trying to lock onto something. I don’t wanna start rumors or something but it’s just something I noticed

@@Lemonayeds Yeah it's just high sens. Once you get past a certain dps threshold, tracking smoothly is a lost cause. It's easier to just do a bunch of micro flicks rapidly. Tracking is a very low priority for mercy, so I can see why a Mercy main would find more value in being able to whip around quickly.
OH BTW just a small note: For anyone that does swap their DMG boost to M1 and their Heal to M2, be aware that your pistol will change to M2. Takes a while to get used to but swapping your buttons does help a lot w/ pushing your DMG boost
It's hard to train your brain to cancel a GA directly in front of an enemy considering it makes you feel so exposed, but after watching those fakeouts I'm 100% going to try this more
Love that Eleyzhau is in this! She's lesser known I think than some others - especially since she only recently started streaming - and doesn't use voice to give her tip, but god has watching her content improved my gameplay so much. All the mercy players in this I'm familiar with are excellent. I can vouch for these tips. Though I probably won't do the swapping primary/alt fire due to muscle memory. Also important: Skiesti mentioned in a comment here that doing this will change your gun fire to alternate as well, which I didn't even think of/know, so that's a bit of a deal breaker for me. Also on the topic of pistoling - BIG YES to knowing when to disengage. Valk is the big time to try to glock, but I've juked so many Mercys who try - and fail - to alpha me while they waste their whole ult doing so, to my satisfaction. Aoe dmg boost is a much better use of time than doing NOTHING, or letting 1-2 teammates die while you try to kill or manage to get a kill. Not to mention that chasing kills can very much endanger yourself. I'm certainly not anti-pistol - it's very satisfying - but this basically falls under Skiesti's tip of putting your life as your #1 priority and knowing when to dip.
my only feedback on your comment is that you forgot to explain that you don't need to kill the enemy - sometimes just putting the fear of god in them is enough lol

You want to be looking around at least every 3-5 seconds to 1: check on enemy flanks, 2: check your ana or secondary dps is topped up on health, and 3: check that your ana or dps isnt being dived. Your primary attention should always be who you're damage boosting (your tanks or dps) and what the enemy team is doing. If you're pocking your primary dps and someone on your team makes a move which could get a kill, flick damage boost to them to secure the kill and get more ult charge for yourself. This includes (doom rolling out onto enemy team, hog landing a hook, ball pile driving, and lots of other stuff)

KristenRae has the best advice on Mercy! Heal-botting as Mercy gives your team no utility and it steals ults from your other support. I get having to only heal if your other support is a lower healing output hero or if your other main healer is not healing or dead, but if you have a main healer its best to help dmg boost more since it helps your teammates get their ults quicker. If you are main healing as Mercy, leave some healing at the end of a fight for your other support to get ult. I know a lot of people feel terrible if they don’t have gold healing but competing with your second support is a toxic mindset. As long as you are doing your job prioritizing dmg boosting, healing, and giving safe rezzes; you should feel more confident in your Mercy
