Possibly the cleanest most technically well performed live version of Californication I've ever seen or heard. I miss John for the guitar Solo, and Josh has more in him than what he showed here. Still, very good.
Actually, Josh has been involved with the Peppers since 1997, when Bob Forrest introduced him to the guys (AK, Flea, Dave and Chad), and later, John, but he's a permanent member of the band since 2008.
For those who think the band lost its classic energy on stage check out rhcp live at la cigale 2011, it's an awesome gig. As for josh's solo i think it is really cool the way he makes the song it's own and i really like it. Go chilis!
This solo is baller, if anyone thinks he should play the original solo then they don't have a true respect for Alt. rock or music in general, jesus christ he's a DIFFERENT guitarist, he shouldn't have to play John's solo

I wonder if Josh has his guitar through the stage monitors really loud or how can he rock that hard with his guitar that quiet? so frustrating, I just wanna full on crank up his guitar! theres almost like a weakness on the right hand side of the stage. frustrating!

Stop talking crap and just listen or don't watch at all, Josh is great the solo is fine but we can all argue all day and still conclude that Flea is #1 especially with those jumps during the choruses xD
Sounds like a bit of the phaser for a bit, and he also uses two chorus pedals on his board (one of which is set to make the guitar sound out of tune) it sounds like that chorus pedal is on
@acatiksel Yeah I'm sure he will get more into the music once he has been in the band a few years or so, he will loosen up. Johns shoes must be really hard to fill I guess.
@robgaffney104 Whoa whoa whoa, I wouldn't say John was "shit" on Mothers Milk, that was just a different style of music. Once John brought his influence into the band their style changed and Anthony's song writing got better because of it. Plus I wouldn't say Josh was "shit" on I'm With You. He had a couple of great riffs in there and his backup vocals are amazing.
