Thanks for this video. Pastor John affirms the total control God has over ALL of His creation, even the earthquake in Japan yesterday, January 1, 2024. We trust that God is in control and ordains ALL things according to the purpose of His will and His will is absolutely good and trustworthy. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts, than our thoughts. In Christ Jesus, ALL things hold together and God's will of decree is sovereign and good in redemptive history. His Word shall not return to Him empty, that's for sure. Praise the Lord!

God bless you all that have tasted death and returned. God bless you all that are just hanging on by a thread. God bless you all that have gotten so used to pain that life without it seems odd. God bless you all that have gotten so close to ending your life but chose the pain of living instead. God bless you all that willingly give. God bless you all that smile back at strangers. God bless you all that will take time out of your lives to enrich somebody else's. God bless you ALL!

@@mr.c2485 I would make a big distinction between preordination and causation.
I have a lot of sympathy with a Molinist understanding of the relationship between God's sovereignty and human free will. I think it is superior to both Calvinism and Arminianism.
In this theology, God knows how each person would freely choose in any given situation, so he arranges situations so that every human choice forms part of God's preordained plan. So God is able to ordain everything that happens without causing everything.
I don't know if you know of the Christian apologist William Lane Craig. He is a Molinist, and he calls Molinism 'one of the most fruitful theological ideas ever conceived'. I am not quite convinced enough to call myself a Molinist, but I do have a lot of sympathy with what Craig says.

Depends how you define "order them" God ordains all things that have occurred and will occur and has known all things always. So how that plays out in time..? The idea of God's passive wrath comes to mind. And contrary to that, God's grace and mercy in how He chooses to interact with His creation.

It's interesting to see how many people will take a message like this and say "Hah, okay, God's evil then", as if they..
-Not only have an objective moral standard of their own apart from God by which they can judge Him, but also
-Have the knowledge that God has to know what He is doing with His creation in order to make the condemnation that the action that God did was 'wrong' on their worldview
Imagine, if you will, a fictional alien using some super-camera to pick a building and observe what's going on within.
Inside this building, he sees a group of men and women. They put a woman on the table, the guy in charge grabs a knife, and his underlings start jabbing the woman with needles and holding her down.
The guy then cuts the woman open.
Horrified, the alien then 'beams down' to the room to stop this mess - only to see that they were performing a cesarean section to save both her life and the life of her child.
Imagine also a dog: faithful to his master, yet left alone in a room with a strange man who starts jabbing it with needles.
Those needles contain necessary medication for keeping the dog alive, of course, given the diseases the dog is susceptible to, but nonetheless the dog *cannot* by virtue of its nature apprehend what in the world is going on.
In the moment, that dog feels great fear - and perhaps even feels like it was betrayed. It cannot understand what goodness is being wrought, especially given the pain.
    ===
But then an atheist stands up and says "God is evil" and points to suffering or death that God allowed to occur: they then mix and match their worldview with a contorted theism to pretend that there's no life after death if God exists, but that God exists *enough* within their condemnation to be a 'murderer' or 'dictator' and condemned as evil - all with the ultimate goal to say that God doesn't exist.
It's a very strange argument, yet one that repeatedly occurs.
I highly recommend looking up one Dr. Frank Turek (CrossExamined on TH-cam) or Dr. David Wood (Acts17Apologetics on TH-cam) on the topic of the "problem of evil" if questions like these concern you.
Indeed, the problem of evil can be very troubling, and worth thinking over and researching.
That said, the atheistic argument that the problem of evil 'disproves' God, however, tends not to be very troubling at all by virtue of its inanity, once you understand the argument's flaws.

So you fake God is murdering people for their own good? why don't you face it, he's just an evil bastard who likes to hurt and kill people, he does it all through your book of fairy stories and Christians are now giving him the credit for COVID-19, apparently he is having another one of his culls, killing all the evil Heathens and sparing the godly but it's not working out that way, the godly Christians are dying at the same rate as the sinners, either your God is incompetent or he's murdering a lot of people just for the fun of it, or as you say he's killing them to teach them a lesson and it's all for their own good.

Given the events, I cannot go out and seek, in person, counsel about this. Given I don't have a church to begin with or anybody close that is a christian that can help me, or money to pay for online counsel, I come here. Can an apostate know he is an apostate? If he knows he is an apostate, would knowing affect how he continues on in life and what he feels and thinks? I think I may be an apostate. If I am I don't want to exist. I know hell will await me, but at least there I will be serving a purpose instead of just being a waste here in this life. And I'm sure once I am there I know I would wish I wasn't because of how great the pain will be. But that is what I deserve anyways.
What is strange is I looked over at my dogs shadow and I saw a goats head.

I am likely old enough to be your mother, and my heart is breaking for you. After reading some of the foolish statements and replies here, and shuddering to think of what the writers' eternal futures hold, your posting was a cry for a heart to listen. I am praying for you tonight, and probably many miles away, however, I have learned after my years on this earth and as a follower of Christ for over half of them, that prayer has no geographical boundaries. You are in spiritual battle. The enemy - Satan - is attempting to draw you in more and more to his trap. To quote from a writer about spiritual warfare, "If you think spiritual warfare is irrelevant to you, you may already be losing the battle. At least you’re ripe for Satan’s picking. Demons have a notorious way of acclimatizing to where they are, warns Tope Koleoso, pastor of Jubilee Church in London. And in secular Western society, this means playing right into our neglect and diminishing of the supernatural. But Ephesians 6 [in the New Testament of the Bible ], and the rest of the Scriptures, would have us stay aware of the unseen realm, and remember that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against . . . the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).
I encourage you to go to God's Word. If you don't have a Bible, go to Biblegateway.com and I would suggest you use the "ESV" translation as it's the most accurate (not just 'popular) translation of the original Hebrew and Greek. If you are truly seeking the truth, talk to God, as you would a person you are questioning and ask Him to reveal the Truth to you. Ask Him to help you battle the thoughts of despair and doubt that would lead you to eternal separation from Him and never-ending agony. IF you truly want to know the Truth about God, and the truth about yourself, He will reveal that to you. Start reading in the Book of John unless you sense God is directing you to begin elsewhere.
The true Gospel of Jesus Christ as written in the Bible is about God's Glory and salvation of each who follow is about His Glory and Majesty - the Creator of the Universe and every single human being. The Desiring God website is also a wonderful source of sound, Biblical teaching while you are alone. It is not filled with man's ideas and "fluff" and definitely avoid/be very cautious some of the mega-church "prosperity and health" teachings which have droves of people at them. Regarding counselors, you have to be careful not to get one that just slaps "Christian" in front of counseling, but works from a totally secular mindset. You might be able to find a good one to talk to through Skype at biblicalcounseling.com/counselors/ . I will be taking your screen name - your Creator God knows exactly who and where you are at this very moment - and praying for you. Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." (this verse is from what is called the "Hall of Faith" by some as the writer reflects on Old Testament patriarchs - many who struggled in their faith, but held fast to God through many trials and He saw them through them.

@@creetan9997 I have no doubt, after seeing God work mightily for so many years in my life(...and I am still a "work in progress" as every believer is until he/she takes the last breath) that God had an additional purpose in my returning to listen to this video again tonight - that purpose was reading your comment and writing to you. I have lived long enough and seen God work in my life and many others - and on several continents - to no longer even use the word "coincidence." His Sovereignty is in every detail which is also what gives me great peace.
Being a follower of Christ isn't "fire insurance" against hellfire and brimstones by saying a certain prayer. It is a walk of faith, seeing ourselves as God does, as sinners in need of a sacrificial Savior in order to have a relationship with God - Jesus took on my sins and all who will follow Him - on the cross to satisfy that sacrifice. Only He could do it, as one who was God who became flesh and was sinless. None of us are deserving of such, but that is where God's grace - providing the sacrifice though not one of us deserves it. Life is a journey and very brief in the span of human history. Therefore, living it as unto the Lord is the only one with true purpose (John Piper who was speaking here, has a book and I think maybe a sermon called "Don't Waste Your Life" - good reading as you are seeking the truth.
