this bike almost belong in a museum .......in the section : very old relics ;)) nice to see it still works/drive , and thanks of course for this interesting video .
Chris E junior thanks I spent most of last winter restoring the mechanicals and some cosmetics on it....so far it's been a great bike and no issues yet
that's freaking awesome bro that's one bad bitch man no doubt about it man who ever doubted you was freaking crazy all I got to say they don't know you very well don't sound like it's coming along very good I think you're ahead of schedule bro band that thing is nice
Yeah I honestly didn't figure it'd be that easy to get running....nor did I expect it to be a healthy engine I figured it would probably smoke....but after looking at it i can see that it's been rebuilt by a race team mechanic at some point because the cases are marked and so is the cylinder and head....they serialization the engine parts so if they tear multiple engines apart at once after before or during a race they know what goes to what engine ....so that tells me it has a racing history of some sort in its past.....which would explain the throttle limiter that on the carb
I'll be damned brother that's fucking awesome I would have never known that so a bad bitch used to ride this mother-humper LOL how cool is that man I wonder if we can look up some old racing videos on these bikes and spot this one out pretty damn cool brother
Roy Nelson it's very possible but It'd be pretty hard to tell unless there was close ups of scratches and dings in the tank etc etc or positive vin identified
thecanchito1 canchito then I would check the stators out put on the ignition side....and if that checks out I'd replace the condenser.....unfortunately the o.e.m coils aren't available for these any longer.....but there is a replacement meant for a yamaha 2 stroke that works.....if you check my Google page in my tt xt stuff I have the wiring diagrams posted for all years of the tt and xt 500s....and the stator output spec sheet should be there as well
Roy Nelson hmmmm odd it was the link to a picture of this bike but with the skid plate bolted on and the side # plates.....it's seriously come a long was in a short time....pretty much went from parts to a running machine that looks half decent for a 40 year old dirt bike
Roy Nelson yeah its almost back to looking like it should with all the proper parts on it......this bike starts easier than any other TT or xt I've ever had....one kick cold no choke it fires right up no throttle and goes right to an idle....and the kick indicator window is blocked off on this one....so ya just gotta guess and hope to hell your right when you kick it....other wise it kicks you 10 time harder....pretty damn famous for breaking ankles and legs when they do that
That sounds really cool man no doubt about it I used to have a 1980 RM 400 and that bitch was badass one kick or like you said it kicks back hard as fuck my buddy had one too broke his dad's ankle I remember the ambulance taking him off and they had an air cast on his shit LOL
Roy Nelson I used to have a 79 or 80 RM 400 to it was a fast mean ass bike but it was to tall for me and I traded it for a yz400 I could reach the ground on lol

Yep you got that right
Roy Nelson sure would be awesome to know it's history though
can you give' some tips, my TT 500 not have spark
thecanchito1 canchito is your tt500 a points ignition or a c.d.i ignition bike
The Dude thanks.....what you think about motor stator alternator coil?
thecanchito1 canchito usually with the points ignition the points need to be cleaned with a points file....that will usually make them have spark
The Dude i installed new points today and don't works
