- While travelling through Nepal, I found myself in a precarious situation where I was about to fall prey to what I think is a common scam that targets unsuspecting tourists. But just when I thought all was lost, a Nepalese local appeared out of nowhere and came to my rescue. We'll also explore the vibrant streets and alleyways of Kathmandu, taking in the sights and sounds of this lively city. I also met some of the friendly locals and learn about their unique way of life, as well as sample some of the delicious local food that is so famous in Nepal.

In Nepal since the time of our childhood we were taught “Athiti Devo Vawa” which generally means Guest are our God. That is why i think it is a natural for a nepalese people to be kind towards the foreigners. But still some can turn into scammers who knows. but this is bad mentality to keep as Nepal is known for being very good budget travel destination and keep in mind that majority of our tourists will be among them from countries mostly asian

Regarding food, just remember, the types of food you get served in Nepal is similar either you go to a nicer restaurant in a more touristic areas or in the alleyways to a more local looking restaurants - the difference is in the way they serve food, the ambiance, price and sometimes hygiene.
So, make a wise choice 😊 !!

22:01 In Nepal Live fish are imported from Terai region and Nuwakot , Kaski etc area and dead/fresh fish are imported mostly from India. Around 5K kg fishes are imported in Kathmandu Kalimati fish market daily. Nepal do have around 216 or more kind of fish species in Nepal...all of them are fresh water ichthyofauna. We have over 600o rivers and many hundreds of lakes. And there are around 157 fish shops in Kathmandu valley.

For example that $1 extra goes a long way to help a big family. It’s tough life for the people working on the street especially in South East Asia. I understand you want to reward the honest pricing but give them the benefit of the doubt. I think the best way to determine a fair price is - think about how much you would have paid in England to fix and clean your shoes. Thank you for being already so kind.
