      This was a portion of the Nutrition and Rehabilitation Seminar given in Wichita Falls in early October. It is not currently, nor is it going to be, a part of the Starting Strength Seminar. We are in the planning stages of putting another one of these clinics together sometime after the New Year. Keep an eye on the SS website for it. Hope to see you there. Thank you for watching and for your feedback.

      @@willmorris4180 These 20 mins have opened a rabbit hole. Any chance you can point us at some basic literature? Already gone to Wikipedia and IASP and looking at some stuff, would be great if you can help to sort the wheat from the chaff.
      Many gyms in my area lie between two extremes, with either the "kill the governor" sort of abandon, or conflating pain with discomfort and being all too pain-shy, can't take them seriously.

      I have not. Is it worth a read?

      @@willmorris4180 Lorimer Moseley is the pain science GOAT. I would highly recommend Explain Pain Supercharged, as that particular version is for clinicians.

      Sincerely appreciate the recommendation. I’m always up for learning more about this. This will be on my reading list for the Christmas break from work.

    Just a tip. Don't start the talk by saying "This is my least favourite thing to talk about".

    Pain is silly bullshit

    • @willmorris4180
      @willmorris4180 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Master Roshi, except that it isn't. The pain experience and society's failure to be able to effectively manage, to date, the crushing weight of the sequelae of chronic pain is a huge burden on countries throughout the world. Pain is very real, whether there is a pathoanatomic cause or not, but perhaps we may agree that the traditional approach to treating pain is silly BS.

    It’s good they are doing videos on pain, because one things for sure if you are doing starting strength, you’re going to end up in pain. Just look at Rippetoe, the poor bastard looks like he can hardly reach his shoe laces.

      Sounds like someone who doesn’t actually end up lifting weight. Why take the time to comment on a program you clearly aren’t doing? Or don’t believe in?
