Yelawolf opened up about a mental breakdown he suffered leading to his confinement in a psych ward. The breakdown followed an unsuccessful Trial by Fire tour, where he repeatedly battled alcoholism, leading to disputes and band discontinuity. After experiencing increasing agitations and manic tendencies - spurred by further substance misuse and disregarding his bipolar nature - he was admitted to the psych ward. Yelawolf described these experiences as scary for him and those close to him, and he credited his recovery to time spent in rehab. The journey led to his understanding of the needs of his mental health and a drive to rebuild the connections he lost due to his breakdown.
I love how he’s owning up to all his mishaps and shutting Vlad down when hes talking bullshit. Yelawolf is a real dude.

Sometimes when ppl quit drugs or alcohol cold turkey, they don't know how to handle certain emotions without that crutch and things get out of hand.
I remember when I was just getting addicted to opioids and I didn’t know my body was physically addicted yet An I took a trip with my family and I didn’t have any to take and after two days I felt off and little sick and tired af and slept like a whole day and when I got up we went shopping and i was so angry out of no where I was just mean mugging anyone who walked by me for no reason and I didn’t even know why. I was just mad. Only after I got back and got more opioids and I realized it was because I didn’t have what I usually have to feel good so I didn’t feel good, I felt pissed off lol
I don't think he quit shit tough. Last time I heard him talk about it, he said he refuses to stop drinking alcohol. And don't say cannabis because that's just silly. I cringed when he brought that up.What a lame excuse to continue drinking.
@@amandahugenkissthc especially at the high levels now with all the super strong stuff and carts (that often have bad stuff if on black market) can make people go crazy if they are wired for bipolar/schitzo tendencies though… I can’t smoke weed at all, had a brief period where I did and used it to relax but to be functional it ain’t happening… at some point it got weird when I tried to do it “recreationally” like my dumb friends always smoked all the time, I would think totally differently and it’s wasn’t good plus made me lazy so I stopped.. it can put some people in psychosis… on other hand things like stimulants (like actual raw cocaine) make me calm and I can fall asleep right after. Opioids just level me out.. I also can’t drink recreationally, just socially on occasion 1 or 2 but I just choose not to.. I’m just glad I don’t like alcohol to where it’s an addiction and I never want it even when having social drinks, but I would definitely say I’m a problem drinker if I ever binge drink (only have a couple times years ago and it just ain’t for me). Different Drugs affect different people in all kinds of ways, nothing is ever just safe all around depending on your brain chemistry.

That's what i try to get my family to understand about me, Once an addict always an addict, always in recovery, i struggle everyday but i been sober 5 months and I'm doing what Yelawolf & Jelly say.... Direct your addiction into something you love to do. There music & God has truly saved my life.
Hell yea good job I know the struggle been off opiates for years now but was on suboxone for damn near 6 years. Worst and longest withdrawal I’ve ever experienced but I had the will power. But everyday is a struggle but I remind myself I never want to go through that again and I know if I use what the outcome will be. Keep up the positive vibes!

Honestly - as a fan of Yelawolf since his 'Arena Rap' days. It's just so refreshing to hear him speak about his experiences good or bad, growing from them & admitting fault when applicable. To think I didn't even know Struggle until after Catfish told all his friends to free struggle. Now him, Rittz, Jelly Roll, Slumerican, etc all doing well. Keep true to your vision & your art craft - real fans will stick around. People will judge or bitch about Vlad, but more respect to both you & him for putting this out there.

You are literally lying. I was at the Sacramento show and if you were really there you would know that this incident didn’t happen in Sacramento, it was actually the next day in Santa Cruz. Vlad got the city wrong and Yelawolf clearly didn’t remember. The last successful show was in Sacramento and I remember thinking we were lucky to have gotten the final show.

I used to work in medical dispensaries before everything went recreational and many of the people in that industry would seek out stuff with a 1:1 THC to CBD ratio because you need that antipsychotic element if you're an everyday smoker. If you can't find 1:1 just try to find something with some CBD to help balance out the THC. It's truly sad to see that those strains barely exist in the recreational space. Now that certain growers have essentially bred out most of the land race strains, the plant really isn't what it used to be. When I go to a dispensary nowadays, I always look for the old standbys and none of the Cookies bullshit. Bubba Kush, Grand Daddy Purple, Durban Poison, etc and if I'm really in the mood for a concentrate, only bubble hash (preferably full melt).

I have a cousin that was in Yellawolf. He was jumped by security when they were playing at a music fest in Waco. My cousin apparently had a little too drink, beat up by venue security. Taken to hospital, arrested, shaken down by dirty cops and this incident caused him a lot of stress and left Yellawolf because of the lifestyle.
