The only non flyable ship I've pledged for is the endeavor. Ill probably store it in my by back when I want to get something actually flyable. I only got it early because I've heard by the time it's in production, it's going to become much larger and many changes that could increase its cost will likely take place
Personally, I would not even bother getting either Perseus if it were out or the Polaris. They have to balance it out and before anyone calls me a hater or whatever, please note I have the CCU for both of them and can cash it in anytime I want. My vote is stick with fun ships, for instance the Gladiator or if you have it the F8C. Try doing a stealth sniper build for both of them if you are so inclined before the 4.0 wipe happens.

Two years ago I was able to get a javelin with store credits and I swear the option was only available for one second, because right after you could only buy it with warbond.

I actually just checked my F8C when you got to mentioning the updates. I noticed I have 6 month insurance AND 120 month insurance...so I'm guessing I'm part of the "already been upgraded" crew...though idk if this actually means I have 126month of insurance for my F8 lol.
They didn't upgrade my F8C 6 month automatically. Funny story, I was asking about it through support, because IAE is always 10 year insurance, and they told me you can only have one F8C per account, so I couldn't buy the 10 year insurance IAE F8C. It was hours of emailing back, and forth asking how I can get it removed from my account to rebuy with 10 yr, etc, and their final answer was a screenshot of that IAE FAQ saying you can only have one...but if you scroll down from what they sent me, it says I can upgrade it on Anvil day. That's what I was asking all along, jeez. CIG has a real problem putting out good information, and its impossible for them to admit fault, not even a oh, wow, sorry I missed that, yeah, you can upgrade it on Anvil day. Their answer was that everything is subject to change. WTF??
I'm actually really sad they're going to be wiping the gold tickets. I own the F8C but I kept a ticket from the first event as a keepsake and I'm really sad they're going to remove that.
Kinda lame they just giving everyone F8C basically now when it was suppose to be exclusive to concierge higher level ranks only or in Squadron 42. Like really lame they went back on that.
I don't believe they ever said that about the F8C. I thought that was regarding the f8 in general which still has an F8A variant out there which is what I'm guessing you will get from squadron 42 since it is a military game.

Man…that’s a very personal decision as many have different definitions of what gameplay is and value. I look at it like this. Both will be pristine as both are needed for S42 as hero ships. Polaris can release unfinished as it not a S42 ship. Idris and Jav have many years of work on them.

Any ship flown solo needs quick and easy access to components/engineering and turrets, if you have to navigate enless doors/elevators and ladders........you will die, very quickly. And thats not taking into account components being targeted and fire management. No, CIG are saying in simple terms, you can fly any ship solo in a bubble, yet the PU isnt a bubble.
@@davewills6121I'll be honest, I don't think this design will stick. I believe it'll be possible to solo any ship somehow. Why? Because the biggest supporters of this game have already bought massive ships for themselves. There's so many people with multiple Carrack sized or bigger ships that bought them for solo gameplay due to past NPC and blade promises. CIG would be shooting their own foot by locking these people of their money and pledges and it could also become a legal issue, afterall they backed up the game with copious amounts of cash and they will expect to be able to play with that they bought.
So if i buy myself an idris for price x and then melt it, i have it still in rhe buyback ? And if i want to buy it back i just have to pay amount x or will it be more expensive?
@dado2440 you get buyback tokens once or twice a year I believe. Once you've used up your tokens, you have to wait until they replenish. And fyi if you buy a ship and then upgrade it to a different ship, you only get the original ship in your buyback. I may have missed some other details others can add to if they want. But that's the basic jist of it as far as I know
I have a C8, A1, and Taurus pledged and I feel insane for spending that much. This is my first IAE though soooo... and I mean, there's a Starlancer twin pack for 500 with LTI.

As long as you can get one in your cart in the beginning. And wait for the next wave. Right when the wave is about to start. Just have all your info ready and have it on your final click before purchase. That's how I got all my limited ships from Idris, privateer, pioneer, javelin
@@tetragerbera yeah i planned to try that too, at least kraken is a few days after so if i cant get the idris maybe i can get the Kraken, i am honestly torn between the two any way. Logistically Idris feels more manageable and contained to me, and better armored and more focused on anti large ship with the energy spinal mount with the K upgrade, but the Kraken seems far more utility oriented and larger flight deck for bigger operations with more crew to manage the extra ships that might be coming and going.
If Warbond it isn’t hard. First round is, then they take forever to sell out. Add in CIG is behind in funding and doesn’t release how many are sold…they will sell more this year.
on the plus side, if you dont own a BIS ship it gives you the chance to buy it and get the paint at the end. if paints were distrubuted before then you would miss out.
why would you want a cap ship in buy back? it is subject to price hikes and the loaner ships are helpful. having a ship in buyback means you have a lot of money your sinking into CCU chains, if and when you want your capital back you will lose all those CCU chain value of all the mass amounts of money you reinvested. probably shouldnt buy stuff you cant afford to keep

Nobody cares, very few if anybody's going to be buying those ships. This is one whale that won't be spending a single penny and I know plenty of others that won't either. I spent my allotted three grand for this year's IAE elsewhere.
before any of you crazies buy a limited ship. first- ask yourself is this an end game goal? maybe you shouldnt. there is a study that people lose interest in the game when they accomplish an end game goal!!! second- if you are not an org CEO or officer you will not be allowed to share your ship through the org mechanics and most likely your org already has all they need, they will not need your donation and most likely they will ask you to not fly larger ships... they will have a crew or a small ship role for you. if your in a tiny org, know this very key bit of information small orgs will find it challenging to crew and run ops with third- capital ships should have a support fleet but can run with a small crew BUT before you make the same foolish step as me! the pioneer not only needs a crew but it needs a huge op! the galaxy or lancer BLD will build almost anything you want or need except space stations that you will need an round the clock defense on your station!!!! you need more than a defense for fleet op you need a mine crew a salvage crew a refinery crew a crew that find and research prints a logistics crew maybe a fueler crew lots of worker bees.... there is no ship in the game that will require way more active players than anyone has been overlooking! pioneers are for massive orgs... if your not high ranking in massive org i pitty your wallet when you find the org will ask you not to use your capital while you are a member. as the org leaders ask the org to only crew for the few well trained and experienced pilots/leaders. every org that is suitable to run huge op for a pioneer like mine will require nothing more than a starter because they have ships fit how they like ready to loan to you. orgs in future will have a leadership roles wall! you will not be able to loan or borrow ships without a officer or CEO rank. you can loan your ships private but be careful when knowing you have capitals they may warn or kick you if you defy them and ask mates to crew for your unauthorized ship!
I have been avoiding this drama by buying only flyable ships as a matter of personal policy. It’s working fine for me thus far 👍.

You can get back anything in your buyback for the price you originally paid. Even if the ship price goes up in the store later, you'll be fine

I had to melt some of my ships and add a bit more to get both tac and max.
I recommend against Starlancer, as someone that has it. It’s not a good ship.

Buy back prices stay theaters when you first got them. I have a taurus on buy back for 150 and many other ships that are way cheaper on buy back
