I love this. You really seemed to break it down well, in a no nonsense way, as to the pros and cons of the various ways to go in the van related choices as well as to why one would want to consider that approach. Three months...that's about the longest you've stayed anywhere outside of the US on this whole trip so far, isn't it? Have a great time. I am looking forward to the videos here. I liked that cave too. The best to you and Sam, Jim
@@JesseStLouis Yeah, from what you said I got that, but I did not get that it was what influenced your decision to stay 3 months. Maybe I need to pay closer attention to what you say, lol. Be well; be safe.
Good that you are far from the places where there are much more cases of people infected with the Coronavirus. The situation is getting worse here in LA. It's scary! Have fun and enjoy all the awesome places in New Zealand.
Man, Jess you were just in California now you are in New Zealand. How did you do it any tips??? I want to travel my self but I'm not sure how to do it.
Actually, I was just in Malaysia and before that Thailand, Nepal, Switzerland and Canada, lol... Been gone from SoCal since last July and it feels like an eternity. I still love and miss my SoCal friends, family and adventures though and hope you are all staying safe! Save money buy a cheap ticket and go. Spend as little as possible and travel as long as u can. This video tells you the cheapest way to travel New Zealand. I also made videos on how expensive it is to travel in Nepal, Malaysia and Switzerland. Those all have great info too.
Hey brother stay safe out there you and Sam. I need you come back and then we can go in an adventure in the future. Really want to go to Iceland one day, is that one of your destinations at all? Also I’ve been wanting to do that to my Bimmer truck that’s why I bought it. Lol
I'm going to buy a Volkswagen panel Van trying to convert into a campervan but the mechanic guy in the workshop told me not to cut off the panel it's hard to get certificated and it's hard to claim insurance, how do you insure your self converted van? And what about registration?
We insured it through AA and we got it certified by an inspector who does that in Christchurch. No problem with either. The guys at Burnsco were helpful with advice on how to build it to pass inspection for self contained certification. Not sure which panel you're talking about.

Thanks Jim. Yeah 3 months is the longest anywhere, but given the state of the world, this is the best place to be right now.

You should check out the NZ show 800 words. Apparently filmed @ 30-60 miles from Auckland, looks like a great area to visit. Great show too.
Thanks for the tip
Love this video!
Thanks my dude

You got to have the gute to do it PLUS your partner if you have, should be supportive too. I am a solo traveler and it always work fine for me.
