- All my links in one place linktr.ee/came... Today i'm making a Paper Bag Junk Journal using Edith Holden Country Diary pages and two paper bags.
Part 1
This is a full start to finish tutorial over two parts.
What you will need to complete the project as i have made it and Measurements
Paper Bags pre folding and cutting 7 x 3 1/2 inches
4 pages from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady
1 piece of card, any will do
2 metal eyelets 3/16 inch
Jute Twine, half yard
Cropadile
Circle punches, i use 1 inch and 5/8 inch
I machine stitched my journal but you can easily make it without.
Glues and inks of your choice.

Omg I was just looking at my light pad yesterday thinking surely this is useful for paper crafting somehow! I had bought it when I was into appliqué and it’s been stuck in a drawer since. The algorithm is reading minds now?! I didn’t say a word on it

Hi Rita, the ones here were book pages from Edith Holdens Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.
I pick up copies on eBay, but you could use any pretty book pages you fancy.

Well I did enjoy it very much. I always liked your videos because I like who you are and your personality your attitude towards life. I love your sense of humor and so enjoy watching your videos but I also enjoy making the things that you do and I have made many of them. Well I will confess along with you I am always losing things not only crafting but a lot of other things I do. How did they just disappear I wonder. Glad to know I'm not the only one that just happens to. I wonder if it has anything to do with our crafting table or desk that we work on. LOL

I love a light box. My father built one for my mom when I was a kid and we used it all the time. The one you are using is wonderfully flat and convenient.

I can really relate to the craft-a-lanche!! Mine are more like tsunamis!!! You just see a wall of paper go sliding off the desk!!! Love your projects! They are so well explained and lovely!!
I think an impending craftalanch or Tcunami is essential in a good craft space😏😁💜

Just starting to gather items for junk journals. Your instrucrions are very helpful. I have six grandchildren i'm thinking of making these as gifts for there special events.. in life.
I think you may already be reviewing the light pad, I have never thought or seen the need to have one. I now want one, need one for my crafting, lol.
😅 Oh Carrie i know exactly what you mean. Other than basic embossing back in the dark ages, before we had all these fancy gadgets.
Had this one not landed in my lap and me having to find a way to use it i would have happily crafted along without one.

These are so cute…Im making a special journal for a friend who is a seasonal Park Ranger in the US who is at a new park this summer, she was at Yellowstone Park the last 7 years, I thought it would be fun for her to put down her new experiences in a journal…I watch a lot of Britbox and Acorn dramas here in the US, my favorite is Vera, such a good show…thank you as always for a great episode ❤️
I craft to raise money for the MS group I am a member of. Some of the journals I find take me many weeks to finish, as I have no feeling in my fingers This journal is perfect for me to make and it looks stylish too. I find your tutorial so easy to follow your a great teacher. Many thanks for the upload ❤

I watch a ton of these videos and I rarely recreate what I've watched. But I will be doing this, I LOVE it. And I have to wonder how many goodies you find under your mat that you've forgotten about!! As for the glue, I used the tacky glue to make my Mom's junk journal (she's gone but it's for my memories of her) and after a year, it got very hard and crunchy. I agree the price difference is huge but the journals I've made with the Fabritac seems to stay flexible for longer. All my tags, etc. crunch when I move them, lol

Remember “our age group” .. carrying around pictures of loved ones in a small pic book? This would be great with some “page protectors” / “pocket pages”…. Folded in half… and sewn in like a signature!

I love the way the cover turned out! Perfect alignment. And I’m laughing a bit about the light board! I can’t wait to try it for this purpose, I’ve got one I bought for my granddaughter to use tracing things, then discovered it for weeding my Cricut vinyl cuts, and now these lovely journal covers!
Thanks Dawn. I have to be honest i would never have bought a light board for this purpose, but as it was free i had to find a way to use it and i use it often now when crafting in the evening. In the day i sit in front of a window so just hold things up. Fabulous idea for the weeding. I don't weed, either garden or cricut😅🤗💜

I always thought with the cropodile, the bottom and top 'indicators' were to be used with same colour of eyelet...IE copper eyelet, use copper 'cube thing on cropodile' that is sticking up, same for other eyelets and the 'stickup' thing! IE silver, gold,,,,

Just turn the pad around so the cord and power button is at the bottom right & the ruler will be at the bottom. 😄

Loved this. I’ve just made an ephemera holder using a boots brown bag and like you thought when I folded it I could make a journal cover with it. Great minds! Lol Thank you for showing the circle eyelet closure, mine are always a bit pants but will save this so I do it right. Great tip to put small circle on the inside … genius 😀

Very nice paper bag journal! Thank you for showing all the sizes of your paper circles & how to use the giant chomper, I actually haven’t seen anyone explain the big one, so I’m very grateful for that. My old light box from my quilting days (late 80’s) is a translucent light blue plastic box with a fluorescent strip light inside! The box is probably 15x25” & about 4 inches thick!! Very large & cumbersome, but that’s how everyone was making them back then!! I think I’m due an upgrade!! This is the only time I’ve seen you use it, so I wondered if you still like it & use it? I found the Elice US & I compared sizes, so I think I need the A3, because the A4 isn’t big enough for either 8.5x11” or 9x12” paper. It got very high comments, in fact no bad ones! It’s interesting that all of them are based on metric. Is this a sign of the times that I better learn those sizes?! The cordless model is $69.99 (gulp!), but I think that’s the best one buy. What do you think? Thank you for using your new toy! I thought you had a US Amazon list but I don’t see it. I’d love for you to get the extra money. Erica❤

These are fabulous & I think I'll be investing in a light board soon. I was going to buy one a couple of years ago for my drawing etc but didn't end up getting one but I will be now lol
Have to admit if it wasn't free I wouldn't have bought one, but I've now also bought a bigger A3 one so my youngest can try diamond painting.
My eldest is a keen artist and loves it for sketching. She says it's great for details and allows her to make lighter strokes and still see them when sketching for watercolours.
