    hey, I'd just like to say I'm a 16 year old snooker player that has been told they have potential and the ambition to become pro. If I can't get to play on a table on a day, then all I do is sit back and watch the magic you produce which has actually taught me a few things just from watching your videos.
    I promise that if I ever become pro, I'll shout you out!
    Thank You

    I was thinking , looking at you play your very still at the cue ball with not much feathering also the selection of power on each shot to get the white where you need, tips and taps and angles seem rearly consistent, I’ve had a 9.5 tip 19.1oz 58”for a while now and it’s always in my head that I’m not getting use to it, last week I bought a cheap price to clear £30 10mm cue 18.6oz 57” rearly good cue for price and I’ve noticed how better I’ve been potting in practice feeling alot more comfortable hitting the centre of the white and slight sides bottom and top, making breaks round the 50 mark which I’ve not done for a long time, you don’t need a long back swing just medium will do to push the white round the table, that old saying less is more and it works fine,keep the vids coming I’ve learnt a lot in a short time, keep them coming thanks 👍

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      andy singleton It's around 57 inches and 24 Oz, far too heavy for most players but I messed around getting weight added to it years ago and it suits me now. It's not a great cue though and I've bought others through the years but always came back to this one. Most of these videos were made a few years ago. I've stopped making them now but there is one more which I haven't made public yet. Thanks for the interest.

    Have to get one of those cammy things, maybe then I'll be able to make these breaks ! ( joke ). Seriously though, looks like a good idea for training purposes, it certainly shows your cueing skills.

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes its probably the best way to see how youre cueing and how still you can stay on the shot. Even more fun in slow mo....

  • @theeyethatseesme6491
    @theeyethatseesme6491 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So talk us through your cue action here. Never seen one so short, but you seem so effective. Did you shorten it? Was it always this short? Have you tried longer? If it's not broke don't fix it? What's the story?
    Cool video!

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is on the short side but I think the camera angle makes it appear shorter than it really is. I've tried longer but it gets to a point where I lose control of the cue and I've always had cue power so I don't really need a longer action.

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's just natural, I've tried longer but I get some cue wobble which doesn't inspire confidence. On genuine power shots I try to lengthen it slightly though.

    Just wondering if shorter back swing increases accuracy?

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      NHK23 It can on short range shots, around the pink and black etc. However a longer backswing definitely helps on power shots as a shorter swing can be a little jerky on such shots.

    Any tips on stance as I just can't deliver cue straight

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes its not just stance which causes the problem but try to keep the back leg straight and in line with the shot. You could also try cueing with the cue brushing your side throughout the shot as it can help keep it on line. Above all stay as still as possible on the shot.

    Nice break but u keep stunning off the cushion for the black when u don't need to just soft screw would get the white in the sa.e place,also u had a shot on the black were u run it round 2 cushions and u was always on a difficult red which u potted in the middle the shot was a stun left hand side for red in same pocket as black . But good break and good luck to u if I was coaching u id improve your game bye at least 30 points I'd improve your cue action so u would actually enjoy playing some shots im sure your avoiding gl to u m8

    Hello,, need tips about my cue tip, I am mostly used blue diamond tip 10mm but when retip some weeks I could not play well because too much spin of cue ball and I cannot make the perfect angle , suggest me , go for a hard tip and which brand,,thanks

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use mostly blue diamond but they are not always the same quality. In a box of ten, six or seven could be very good but the others not so good. I tried talisman and I liked them but they split after a couple of months and are expensive. It's difficult to guarantee a good tip, sometimes it just comes down to luck.

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    can you please give me an idea how much the snooker table will cost including the set of balls and a cue ?

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a full size snooker table, balls and a decent cue i guess you would be paying well over a thousand pounds. Ofcourse it all depends on what quality you want. The best tables are probably 4 or 5 thousand. You would also need a lot of space around the table so your room would need to be at least 25ft by 20ft.

    • @mitzeeeee
      @mitzeeeee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Snookerist You must be joking! A top table is £25k. Riley are selling one for £35k. But included in the price is Ronnie O'Sullivan coming to your house to play on it with you. They only made 10 of them. One is Ronnie's personal practice table. 4 have been sold and 5 remain for sale.

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn't want to scare him by quoting 20 grand upwards. I'm not an expert on table prices but I imagine 5 grand would buy a table that would satisfy the majority. It may well be second hand but would do the job.

    Whats a decent cue for a beginner and a cheap bastard like myself? The club cues im sure used to be table legs with tips on em

      Hard to say. Ive been playing with the same cue for 15 years so I'm not sure what's around now. Generally if a cue is straight and fairly smooth then its playable. Some of the cheaper cues don't have a good feel though. Normally they're too light and don't have a solid feel when you play a shot. Having said that ive played the odd frame with brand new club cues and they've been okay. You could take a look on Amazon. There's loads on there, even for cheap bastards ;))

      I just bought a peradon cue for 137 quid. I can recommend john parrot cue sports site though I've purchased 2 cues from there, one a few years ago or more for UK 8 ball with a 7.5mm tip which was a peradon cue also. But they do have cheaper cues on there give it a google!

      I spent 126 AUD on mine and it turned out to be a really good cue, Sometimes when buying mass produced cues you can get lucky with one. I did.

      Ive had a 147 and a couple of 146's using variations of the line - up routine. They're on the channel. Cheers.

      Wow that was a quick reply, lol. My best is a 129, that was when i was 13/14, about 4 or 5 years ago.
      I will watch your line - up videos, thanks.

      129 is fantastic especially at 14. I never set out to make a 147 until I was 47 ( strangely enough ) and had already been playing for over 30 years. With practice anything is possible :)

    i noticed you using a half joint snooker cue, not too many ppl using half joint one except for 9 balls, what brand of your cue? it's custormized or buy that from a billiard supply store?

    • @bottlecap57
      @bottlecap57  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've always used half joint cues as they're easier to travel with. This one is customised with a forward weight balance which makes cushion bridging shots easier. Its a powerglide cue which cost about £200 including customisation but its getting old now so i may be looking for a new one.

      @@sermsaklimpadapun6054 It's the headcam which makes the pockets look bigger than normal. No probs 👍
