hey, I'd just like to say I'm a 16 year old snooker player that has been told they have potential and the ambition to become pro. If I can't get to play on a table on a day, then all I do is sit back and watch the magic you produce which has actually taught me a few things just from watching your videos. I promise that if I ever become pro, I'll shout you out! Thank You
That's a very nice thing to say :) Keep practicing and try to learn from the better players you come up against. Form can come and go but if you hang in there anything is possible. Good Luck.
Yes bro,I agree..even they're not on 'the paper' as a pro player..they probably will win in a small event with their talent..they just only don't wanna be famous..we call them as the 'snooker hackers'..I would like to be like them😀
Brilliant mate!, my highest break is 40, lol (5xRed, 5x Black) and the positioning was just fortunate. I guess you will be appearing at the Crucible long before me!
Cheers! Those breaks were from a few years ago. Strangely I can't play to that standard now. I could blame it on bad eyesight and just not playing as much but I think everyone goes downhill eventually.
I saw u seldom use side, is that my eye problem or what 😂😂but look u play is juz lik so easy, my higher break is juz only 33, nice video and keep it up
I've found using side harder to judge in recent years. Seems to be throwing the cue ball offline more now so I miss more pots. More practice may fix that though. Thanks for watching.
Very compact cueing 6 inches at most but when you think about it makes sense alot less can go wrong, do you make a conscience decision to play this way, thanks
It's just natural, I've tried longer but I get some cue wobble which doesn't inspire confidence. On genuine power shots I try to lengthen it slightly though.
Nice break but u keep stunning off the cushion for the black when u don't need to just soft screw would get the white in the sa.e place, also u had a shot on the black were u run it round 2 cushions and u was always on a difficult red which u potted in the middle the shot was a stun left hand side for red in same pocket as black . But good break and good luck to u if I was coaching u id improve your game bye at least 30 points I'd improve your cue action so u would actually enjoy playing some shots im sure your avoiding gl to u m8
Wow, what an amazing clearance. Honestly, watching you play made my day. I love playing snooker and I want my son to play too but he's only five months old. If you're ever in Birmingham, please drop by. I have my own table.
Have to get one of those cammy things, maybe then I'll be able to make these breaks ! ( joke ). Seriously though, looks like a good idea for training purposes, it certainly shows your cueing skills.
So talk us through your cue action here. Never seen one so short, but you seem so effective. Did you shorten it? Was it always this short? Have you tried longer? If it's not broke don't fix it? What's the story? Cool video!
It is on the short side but I think the camera angle makes it appear shorter than it really is. I've tried longer but it gets to a point where I lose control of the cue and I've always had cue power so I don't really need a longer action.
The pockets are just standard club size but they always look bigger on the headcam. Some shots dropped which normally wouldn't but you get that sometimes. Cheers :)
Hard to say. Ive been playing with the same cue for 15 years so I'm not sure what's around now. Generally if a cue is straight and fairly smooth then its playable. Some of the cheaper cues don't have a good feel though. Normally they're too light and don't have a solid feel when you play a shot. Having said that ive played the odd frame with brand new club cues and they've been okay. You could take a look on Amazon. There's loads on there, even for cheap bastards ;))
I just bought a peradon cue for 137 quid. I can recommend john parrot cue sports site though I've purchased 2 cues from there, one a few years ago or more for UK 8 ball with a 7.5mm tip which was a peradon cue also. But they do have cheaper cues on there give it a google!
Not sure if it's stabbing but a shorter backswing suits me as I don't lack cue power. If i had a long backswing like O'Sullivan or Trump for example I would over hit every shot, plus more can go wrong with a longer swing. Also this camera angle probably makes the backswing look shorter than it really is.
This is a brilliant effort. May I request to please add the slow motion of the shots as well, apart from the zoomed video portions on left, that will help the viewer a lot to improve players like me. I must say this is one of the best way to learn by watching and thanks for the video
For a full size snooker table, balls and a decent cue i guess you would be paying well over a thousand pounds. Ofcourse it all depends on what quality you want. The best tables are probably 4 or 5 thousand. You would also need a lot of space around the table so your room would need to be at least 25ft by 20ft.
The Snookerist You must be joking! A top table is £25k. Riley are selling one for £35k. But included in the price is Ronnie O'Sullivan coming to your house to play on it with you. They only made 10 of them. One is Ronnie's personal practice table. 4 have been sold and 5 remain for sale.
I didn't want to scare him by quoting 20 grand upwards. I'm not an expert on table prices but I imagine 5 grand would buy a table that would satisfy the majority. It may well be second hand but would do the job.
Yes my backswing is a little shorter than I would like but a very long one isn't ideal either. Cueing is different for each player. Some take a lot of swings before striking the ball while others keep the cue very still and really only take one swing. Some players let the cue brush their side while cueing thinking this will keep the cue on line. Its important not to grip the cue too tight and to stay as still as possible on the shot. Any head movement tends to move the cue offline. Practice hitting the cueball up and down the middle of the table over the spots. Its a great way of finding how straight you are cueing.
Sometimes its not just stance which causes the problem but try to keep the back leg straight and in line with the shot. You could also try cueing with the cue brushing your side throughout the shot as it can help keep it on line. Above all stay as still as possible on the shot.
I agree even though I use it on a lot of shots. I find it harder to judge power shots with side than I used to but I put that down to not playing as often.
NHK23 It can on short range shots, around the pink and black etc. However a longer backswing definitely helps on power shots as a shorter swing can be a little jerky on such shots.

Yeah understand this. But on a star the short action can cause problems by magnifying cue ball control errors too. You’d lose the cb less often too. Which ball do you sight last? I lengthened mine a little by sighting the object ball at end of backswing. Its not necessarily about lengthening it its more about achieving a drive by giving yourself enough cue length extension to do so rather than a short quick peck which will ultimately be magnified under pressure. This will all help your timing and CB control enormously
@@the_alchemy_method I always try to sight the object ball on the backswing. That's the way it was always taught as far as I know but sometimes on a slow backswing I can't help taking a look at the cue ball. Zain Asif A lot depends on how often you play. To have a chance of being a good player you need a minimum of 3 days practice per week (couple of hours per day). Heavy scoring is done around the pink and black so practice in that area with reds spread and keep trying to beat your highest break. Sometimes a line up of reds can be good practice and ingrains potting angles. At the end of the day 2 things are needed to have any chance of playing well. Good aiming and straight cueing so work on those.
