One of the nicest guys in my med school class went into neurosurgery, and we ended up in the same hospital (I did trauma surgery). He was still as nice as he could be...outside the OR. In the OR was a completely different story.

if you watch his other videos, he released a video to announced that he passed his oral board examination...several months after this video was released so he is basically just became an attending neurosurgeon at around 40 years old (based on his physical look)
I love this man! I am a neurosurgery patient that was heading down the road (I was at the very beginning of that “road” as I had just entered med school so I obviously had a LONG way to go before fulfilling my dream) to personally becoming a neurosurgeon myself before my own neurological issues sidelined me from my aspirations. Now, I am the patient that challenges and helps hone my neurosurgeon’s skills as I have defied all the rules for what was supposed to be a simple neurosurgery procedure. Instead I have undergone approximately 150 surgeries since 2010. However, even this is better than nothing. Plus, I much rather be the neurosurgery patient that challenges my doctor’s knowledge helping an amazing doctor continue to grow and hone his skills than to not be able to take part in neurosurgery at all from either end of the knife!
May your neurosurgeons train and grow enough that they figure out the perfect surgery that will end your need for neurosurgeries while still keeping you alive with a good quality of life.
"Living in the basement" reminded me that at the BI Hospital in Boston in the 1970's, on the Chief's Service, the Senior surgical residents had a one month rotation with no days off. They had to arrange laundry service and home care if they were without a partner!! The exact reason for this was never clear to me as I was only a med student.

Ok, first look at the thumbnail, his death stare ripped my soul off my body and crushed it I now know he's either a surgeon or a cardiologist, without even looking at the title
I love this. First thing I noticed was the "photo" (painting) and thought "wow, the ego on this guy." Didn't disappoint. I love that it's an actual painting.
Cried laughing. I'm just an OTA, so my interaction is limited with surgeons but I swear neuro is a whole different breed by default. It was hands down my favorite class but I don't think our professor ever blinked during lecture.
I was driving so it was audio only for me, and I was 100% sure the reacting neurosurgeon was part of the skit! I was like, where’s the guy who’s supposed to be reacting to the video? Well done!
Everyone in the comments are saying that this neurosurgeon had this sarcastic humour. What a plot twist if he did mean these and did approve every scenes indeed happening irl. 😂 Yes, sir. Thanks. I haven't earned the right/privilege to talk to you yet. 😶
I was hoping you'd do a reaction video to this short! This was one of my first real introduction to Dr. Glaucomflecken, and I fell in love with his shorts -- and especially this video. And your reaction just sets it off. Thank you for creating a channel, I cannot wait to see more of your content!
When I was on neurosurgery I already knew I was going into internal medicine. They didn't know what to do with me, but they did let me drill a hole in someone's head!
Hi doc i appreciate you as a professional and appreciate your sense of humor. I hope you get to do whatever makes you happy outside of work and continue to save lives all the best
The chairman of Neurosurgery kept asking me questions as a med student until I got one wrong and then informed me, "I hold all the aces, and I can bring you to your knees at any time!"
Comendations to Dr. Abu Samra, Neurosurgical Resident when I was a Medical Student. He got an overhead Hospital page every 10 minutes, 24/7... poor bastard.
You should react to "How to Ace your Neurosurgery Residency Interview" video that one is great. In addition, id love to know if you would be able to collaborate with me on a video Idea i have. It's an educational video on neurosurgical management of glioblastomas using virus vectors with polio to activate immunity. I have no viewers and no following, but as a medical student I find myself drawn to glioblastomas (grade 4 astrocytomas) due to the aggressive nature, minimal success in management and the benefit any new knowledge could contribute to this area of medicine. Love that you started a page and keep up the awesome work.
Love your pieces. Nice to connect to you about the years of med school and residency. No one would believe how much truth lies in your series. The question is do people with these personalities go into these fields or does this happen to them after they get there? Probably a little bit of both. Anyway you make me laugh so hard
That was - thought provoking. As a Retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy. I approve of your message. ‘. . . I thought I had some game/standards. Nope!’ Should have been a Neurosurgeon. . .
Clearly this guy has eliminated his physiologic need for sleep.
Bravo.
RAS neutralized! 🔥
Clearly a Jonathan clone
Nice to see dr. Rutkowski with the "proper neurosurgeon's look" sitting in front of his glorious portrait!
Por-TRAIT.
What a jerk !!
Anyone that would have a portrait done wearing a bouffant cap certainly has a lot of self confidence.

A couple of the more “unique” guys in my class went into neurosurgery. Not bad guys at all. I’m pretty sure they could both photosynthesize.
Whoa whoa whoa, photosynthesize?
Wot?
what was their calvin cycle like?
what 😂😂😂😂
Lies, neurosurgeons don't see enough sunlight outdoors to sustain themselves on photosynthesis
They feed off trainee fear
The delivery of "as they should" was flawless. Impeccable timing, excellent expression and perfect tone.
This is the first "Doctor reacts to Glaucomflecken" video I've seen that was actually funny. 😂😂
Fr and this guy rocked it!!
this is the first one where the Doc plays along with the joke, so...
yup, I'm right there with you :D
So true
Agreed! Mostly they make excuses 😂

Reason being hospital wants to show that we have minimal possible response time and doctor is available 24 /7
