I've always wanted a Maxus like yours, but I never could find one while they were being made. I have a love for finely crafted wood stocks and bought an SX4 Silver 20 gauge last year, along with an SX3 composite for the wife. Last week, I got a Carbon fiber Sporting Maxus at my local gun shop that is like brand new. While not fine wood, the Carbon fiber treatment is flawless and looks great. The Maxus II looks like everyone else's semiautomatic now and really doesn't have the appeal of the original one to me. Having an extended magazine isn't a priority for me .
I regret not buying the Maxus while it was still in production. When I finally decided to buy an automatic the Maxus was no longer available. I did, however, buy an A5 and love it. I just took it for granted that the Maxus would be around longer than it was. My biggest complaint with the Maxus II is the very limited ability to find it in wood, and when you do the wood is no where nearly as nice as the original Maxus guns. Also, the wood version is a Matte finish all around. Yuk!
Yeah I know what you mean. Still lots of Maxus ones for sale though. I am hoping to get a few more whilst they are still readily available. They are my favourite by far!
I’m planning on getting a maxus for wildfowling so I don’t have to deal with my beretta o/u turning orange. But aesthetically I much prefer the original maxus with the nice wood but the only issue is I’ll be using it whilst wildfowling so if I did get one it would have to be the black composite one which I couldn’t cry over if it got scratched on the foreshore
@@alexmoser1819 it's not bad but i had to put the two spacer came with it to get right in to my shoulder and the wood feels so cheap . I don't know i was so excited to get the maxus2 but now i prefer the original maxus to go hunt with
@@gimp6019 I went back and forth for a while but ended up getting a really good deal on the maxus 2 so I splurged a bit. The maxus 2 had a few more features that I liked and felt a little bit more well put together

The original Maxus Ultimate is a classic, the Maxus II is a waterfowl outside Gun! Both are awesome; because it's a Browning!
Hi Elliot bought a Maxus one black gold of JF Neville guns great deal better than any other.realy nice wood love it the best there is period
Enjoy mate! The Maxus one is a belter. My favourite by far 😉
Great guns I own two Maxus, the timber pattern and the ultimate partridge
Very nice! The ultimate partridge is very nice! The original Maxus is fantastic!!!
CLP on the rails makes inertia driven actions work like a charm.
The square forend on the original maxus was a deal breaker for me now the 2 is out its in my cabinet love it
I like the Maxus 2 with ability to add an extended magazine tube for unlimited snow goose control hunts. I would get it with a 26 inch long barrel.

@@elliot_shooting I live in Canada and I'm not able to find one anymore.
Maxus 2 take a scope bases?
Well demonstrated Elliott
Excellent review.
But how does it shoot ?
Only as good as I do 😂

The original Maxus is a beast. My favourite by far and available in black composite and also some nice camo patterns too, ideal for the foreshore 👍
Hi Elliot. Its a fore END, please dont get all American on us 😂
😂 I was born in the wrong country! 🤠
For sure the 2.
I have both of them the original maxus hunter and the maxus ii hunter
I really love and enjoy the original maxus without knowing the reason
How is the Maxus 2 hunter? Haven’t seen much on it. I can’t choose between the Maxus Hunter or the Maxus 2 hunter.

@@fn-b-sa ah that’s unfortunate to hear about the wood
@fn-b-sa do you know if the maxus and maxus 2 barrels are interchangeable?
@@programmatic93
No brother they're not
And I've emailed browning and they said don't even try
Both Maxus ones
Buy a SX4, same gun, half the price
😆 I do like winchesters and I agree they are pretty much the same gun. But it still isn’t a browning 😉
@@elliot_shooting True, but if you are buying a "plastic stock" gun, why pay the price difference. The guts of the sx4 and Maxus are the same

Can you get the SX4 in a Walnut Stock vs. The Plastic stocks all these gun stores are pushing? Buy what 's on the shelf or go elsewhere!
@@michaeldelrossi4487 Yes, on the 3 inch gun not the 3 1/2
