    First time seeing your channel, first youtuber that answers so much questions. I love rockets and this will be my second time growing them. Hope my seeds are still healthy. Thank you so much for your advice. Great video.

      Glad to hear it. Usually seeds can be used for many years, but keep in mind that for greens and lettuce the germination rates drop by the time. Hopefully yours are fine. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!🌱😊

    Thank you for the tip of folding the top in order to grow veg like lettuce. I use fabric grow bags so your info has helped me and maybe expand on more delicate veg and herbs.

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it was helpful! Herbs usually do not need the full depth of the grow bags and by folding them you can save some potting soil. Thank you so much for your comment!

    1. Little confused with the 1 Part 2 Part. Is it a 2 / 1 / 2 mix? Surely the perlite is not 50/50 with the potting soil? 2. Direct sunlight? 3. How often watering?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! 1. If you are asking about the potting mix, you can check my video here on how I make the mix for greens th-cam.com/video/Xdi9kwEA_X0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GK04hHht5R0lwgCj . 2. Direct sunlight to part shade is ok. Specially in hot midday sun, move them to shade. 3. Watering depends on the weather. You want to keep the soil moist but not soggy. If top of soil is wet, skip watering. Grow bags need more watering, maybe daily. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting.

  • @eyelah
    @eyelah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you, very helpful. how do I water and how often? Do I mist?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found my video helpful. You want to keep soil moist but not soggy. In warm weathers, water daily. Don't just mist, water roots also. You can shower plants with watering cans or use the "shower" set up on the garden hose. I hope this helps and thank you very much for your comment!

    Any advice on why they might keep wilting off a week or two after sprouting?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is hard to tell but most probably it can be “damping off” which is a fungal disease. Try growing in a fresh mix and let soil dry between watering. And don not over water them. Hope you have a better results next time and thanks for visiting.

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In cold winters, Feb. to Jun. is a good time. If you have hot summers (or mild winters), grow them in cool months such as Sep. to Nov. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can get 2-3 harvests in about every 10 days. Thank you for visiting.

  • @anujajainofficial
    @anujajainofficial 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So, I plant the seeds > allow them to grow > harvest > regrow > harvest. Right?
    I don’t have to replant the seeds again and again? Or do I?
    The plant regrows and harvesting it from regrown plant is the only cycle, right?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can harvest for few times and they will grow back, but usually when it gets warmer, arugula will start bolting (flowering) and the taste changes. It is better to sow seeds again when it gets cooler for a fresh crop. Hope this helps and thank you for getting in touch!

    I saw some popping up and checked the next day they all died. Literally nothing changed, soil was still moist…

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is really hard to tell without seeing them. Do you notice any pest activity? Did you expose them to too much sunlight? or maybe it could be a soil-borne fungal disease effecting the roots, or damping off. I would start over in a clean soil. Also do not over water them. wait until top soil is dry then water. Hopefully will have a better results next time. Happy growing and thank you for visiting!

    • @TowardGarden

      I usually start Arugula in cool months, Nov. or Jan. Arugula grow better in cool weather, so if it is getting warm you may want to move the in shade. Thank you for visiting!

    When should I fertilize if so?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the first harvest, fertilizing is optional. The manure added to the soil at the time of planting is sufficient. If you want to harvest multiple times, you can fertilize with water soluble foods such as Fish fertilizer after each harvest. Thank you for visiting!

    Do i need to water the soil everyday? even if the seeds are not yet growing?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to keep soil moist, but I don't think everyday watering is needed unless it is very hot and the soil gets dry. Probably watering every 2-3 days would be better. Thank you for visiting.
