Everybody's done the song freebird.By Lynyrd Skynyrd, lots of people have done sweet home. Some have done 3 steps.I would recommend doing something different
Lynyrd Skynyrd has many good songs. That wasn't limited in that department.Row gypsy row losing coming home. There's 3 songs right out there.Wonderful all day and then we're gonna do the 4 walls. We're called brick 'Em down.Four walls arrived ford at a four great leonard skinner song's
The lyrics "johnny" sings are the titles of classic fiddle tunes, and the fiddle plays a phrase from each song. The implication is he played a full set of fiddle classics, or medley thereof.
There is a follow up to this song with Charlie Daniels, Johnny Cash, Travis Trit and Marty Stewart, The Devil Returns to Georgia. Another great story song of his The Legend of Wooley Swamp. Great reaction. This song is still played on both classic country and classic rock radio stations.
I can't ever forget the Geico commercial featuring the late great Charlie Daniels where he is inside a fancy restaurant and giving a quick tutorial on how to play the fiddle, then as he walks away he grabs a garlic bread stick off of one of the customers table, like a real boss. Check it out some time.
Back in the day, stories about confrontations with the devil were pretty common. That's also the background of "Crossroads" a song that's been done, and re-done (maybe most famously by Eric Clapton). In that song, a young musician goes down to the Crossroads, where he meets the devil and give his soul in exchange for guitar talent. Nowadays the devil is often replaced by a record exec.
Connecting fiddle music with the Devil taps into a folklore tradition in southern Appalachia, and elsewhere, that goes back at least to the early 19th century. 'Devil's Dream' is the name of an old fiddle standard tune that's about that old and there was an saying about fiddling being "the sound of the Devil laughing "
There's a sequel called "The Devil Comes Back To Georgia", from the Mark O'Connor album 'Heroes'. Charlie and Marc on the fiddles, Johnny Cash as the main narrator, with Marty Stuart taking over for the character of Johnny and Travis Tritt taking over for the Devil. I saw Charlie in concert when I was in the 7th grade. He shredded a few fiddle bows. The show was epic.
There is a great follow up to this in the 90s. DEVIL GOES BACK TO GEORGIA. Special guests Johnny Cash Marty Stuart Travis Tritt and second fiddler Mark O'Connor. Very well done
Charlie Daniels Band were one of the many Southern Rock bands that came out of the late 70's and early 80's. You should check out his recording of the South Going To Do It Again.
So, young man grew up in KY? That reminds me of a young man (probably a great bit older now) called Henry Cho-I'm reasonably confident he was a Korean lad, but grew up I believe in Tennessee. With the accent and everything. Man, was that kid funny.
If you liked this song have a look at the follow up song "The Devil Comes back to Georgia" its got Charlie Daniels, Johnny Cash as well as Travis Tritt. It's just as good as this song, with some REALLY serious fiddling to back it up. Enjoy it!
If you liked this, you'd like "Talk to me fiddle", performed by Charlie even more. It goes through different genres of music, and Really shows off his fiddle skills. Just as a tip from me to you.
I enjoy this song and certainly CD's fiddling skill in it. As good as it is, I think it is kind of "gimmicky" and unfortunately overshadows a lot of his better music.
LuLu................lose the Pillsbury Dough Boy..........he is KILLING your show........STOP TALKING OVER THE SONGS !!!!! And try a salad once in a while !!!
What should we react to next from The Charlie Daniels Band?

Charlie was a "Good Ol' Boy", 10/28/1936 - 7/6/2020 RIP Charlie
I was at this show. I lived in upstate NY and saw a lot of great shows at SPAC. This was one of the best.
Sure do miss Charlie Daniels R.I.P.🙏
I saw him in concert. He was amazing playing the fiddle.

Some other good ones, "Stroker's Theme", "Uneasy Rider", "Long Haired Country Boy", and the "The Legend of Wooly Swamp".
There's an Uneasy Rider 88 also.
Saw them live back in 1981 and it was amazing.
The difference between a violin and a fiddle. A violin had strings a fiddled has strangs
And you don't spill your beer on your violin.

Thank you. Really. Thank you.

Ha! Gotta check it out!
The movie with Matthew McConaughey you're talking about is A Time to Kill. And it takes place in Mississippi, a VERY swampy hot place.

Tenacious D's "Tribute" is a tribute to this song as well.
Charlie Daniels Band were one of the many Southern Rock bands that came out of the late 70's and early 80's. You should check out his recording of the South Going To Do It Again.
I went to US Army Airborne school in Georgia. You are right, down South is a nasty sticky heat, it's uncomfortable. 😂😂😂
love this song and always good to see another Kentuckian you all have a great channel
Kentucky FTW!
I seen Charlie Daniel’s Band at Mickey Gilley’s in Pasadena Texas in 1981. Great band.
Y'all made this song more enjoyable with your funny comments! Lol 🎶 🎻
my favorite of his was Uneasy Rider
This song only predated Tenacious D by a quarter century or so, but they do share some common themes.
Tenacious D song is a Tribute to this one.
This one is fun!
tribute was based on this from what ive heard
I’ve never seen anyone move to Rap like you two just did to this song. Music could be fun at one time. What happened?
Ain't the same today. I'm 67 years old, and I was witness to the greatest music ever produced while I was growing up. I was blessed.
I just turned 60.
I know exactly what you're saying. @@WilliamWarlick

RIP Charlie.
What's some of Charlie's newer versions, he gets better and faster.
Please tell me what a typical country song is. I've been listening to it for 6 decades and I still haven't heard a typical county song.

A lot of great legends in this one
LOL...Actually... Tenacious D sounds like The Charlie Daniels Band.
Darn good point!
I enjoy this song and certainly CD's fiddling skill in it. As good as it is, I think it is kind of "gimmicky" and unfortunately overshadows a lot of his better music.
70s decade
Fiddle man
You compared Charlie Daniels to Ten D? That earned you a block. You NEVER compare Charlie Daniels to a commucrat traitor.
Sounds like you got it all figured out. Good for you!
FAFO Fiddle around and find out.
Tenacious D isn't fit to polish Charlie Daniels' Fiddle.
But they do make a mean sausage!
Charlie could play any stringed instrument
A fiddle is a violin with a big bad attitude.
Nice reaction, but why are you in your underwear?
You lost me
When you compared tenacious D to Charlie
Daniel’s!
You should be ashamed
Of yourselves🤯👎
