Coinbase IPO, Canva $15 billion valuation, Sydney Opera House streaming service, Facebook hack

Hey friends, welcome back to the Chris Chow show - where every week I break down the important business news in Australia and around the world.
This week we have an Aussie startup reaching a $15 billion valuation, the Opera House launching their own streaming service, Facebook hack affecting 7.3 million Australian accounts and crypto exchange Coinbase planning to go public.
Australian graphic design platform Canva has raised another round of funding valuing the company at $15b US dollars. The company recorded over $US500 million in revenue in last financial year, a 130 percent increase, and is on track to hit $1 billion in revenue this financial year.
Back in March 2020, the Sydney opera house had to close its doors and pivot to digital events. Off the back of the successful online season, the landmark venue has launched a streaming service called Stream.
Private information associated with some 7.3 million Australian Facebook accounts has been posted online after a massive data breach.
So this data breach actually happened back in 2019 but the data was dumped online last week for everyone to see. A worrying aspect of this hack was the inclusion of mobile numbers, typically data breaches usually involves email, password and names.
And in this week’s crypto corner, US based cryptocurrency exchange - Coinbase has filed to go public on the 14th of April. The company has chosen to go public on the NASDAQ with the ticker symbol COIN via a direct listing instead of a traditional IPO.
Coinbase is currently the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S. and had a record breaking Q1 with $1.8 billion in revenue and 6.1 million active users.
