Dylan Emery It's not even that ironic if you take into account the (in my opinion) "real" General Grievous from the Cartoon Clone Wars and some comics.
But wasn't he defeated by Mace Windu instantly and struggled against three fully aware and uninjured Jedi? Relying on the aid of a LOT of Magnaguards. Just joking, but he's not quite as powerful as many believed, but he's still very powerful no doubt. He's one of my favorite characters, not because of how powerful he is, but because who he is as one of the most tragic characters in Star Wars. Also, I liked his portrayal in Son of Dathomir, it was Grievous from The Clone Wars, but he was never outright defeated in single combat.
As far as I know Grievous was able to match Windu in Lightsaber Combat (Labyrinth of Evil), however Windu endet the fight by throwing the General off the train they were fighting on. He did it in order to prevent Grievous from adapting to his own fighting stile. I don't know which 3 Jedi you are referring to so I can't explain anything regarding that. Surely Grievous was not invincible especially when it came to the Jedi using their force abilities. For a non-force user he was definitely impressive tho and as you rightly state, his background is what makes him really stand out.
Yes, I'm aware of his duel with Windu, in which his cybernetically enhanced brain allowed him to semi-replicate Form VII Vaapad after watching the sequences used by Windu himself. What I'm referring to is the scene where Grievous is kidnapping the chancellor and Windu crushes his chest, ending the fight before it even began. You see, Grievous wasn't the only character in which that show overpowered, they did the same with Mace. I'm also referring to the scene in which Grievous is attempting to capture the Chancellor and has to face three fully aware and uninjured Jedi Masters, in which he struggles and has to have the aid of many Magnagurads to deal with them. The biggest reason why Grievous did so well on Hypori was because the Jedi were Injured, tired, and had never witnessed him before, also half of them were Padawans. Now, I'm not discrediting Grievous' victory, as he was one of the best duelists and easily capable of taking on Master level Jedi, but people tend to overexaggerate his abilities in the 2003 Clone Wars. Granted, 2008 The Clone Wars nerfed him to where he was on par with Knight level Jedi and capable of contending with Master level, so I can understand why people didn't like that. However, truth be told, Grievous in the 2003 show was far from undefeated. Again, I'm not disregarding Grievous' power and skill, as he is my second favorite character, but he was nowhere near as strong as people made him out to be. I think his best portrayal was in the Son of Dathomir comic, where he was a perfect blend of 2003 Clone Wars and 2008 The Clone Wars. He was egotistical, always trying to please his superiors, but he was never outright defeated in single combat, even taking on Darth Maul, killing Mandalorians with his pure physicality alone, acknowledging his losses and the skill of his opponents like a honorable warrior should, he wasn't showcased to be overpowered but was a great tactician, and even threatening Dooku's life while the two were in captivity. ("I hope the next time we meet Count, I won't have to add your lightsaber to my collection.") I'm not sure if that's exactly word-for-word accurate, but that's what I recall. Anyhow, regardless of my perspective on the song used, I still really liked this tribute and General Grievous as he is one of the most intriguing characters in Star Wars, on par with Vader and Maul in terms of depth and tragedy. :)
@@ancientgear7192 I don't know what's so funny about that... originally grievous was indeed undefeated (until fighting Obi Wan on Utapau). Even Mace Windu ultimately pulled out of a fight with Grievous because he could see Grievous was adapting to and incorporating his own unique lightsaber fighting style, and the idea of Grievous being able to use his own fighting form against other Jedi horrified him.
SkiddyGaming that fight wasn’t even fair. Boi wan started from the high ground. And pulled a gun on him. that’s the part that makes grievous my favorite character, even big boi obi had to resort to the desperate measures to beat a crippled grievous, someone who couldn’t even use the force, just a badass android

But really I'm loving Grievous in the show. He really is my fav and this is a great tribute vid. Well done!
I'll sneakily avoid the 'so this christmas you gave Grievous your heart?' joke. Instead I can assure you that if your preferences are even remotely similar to mine you'll really enjoy the whole series - not so much its treatment of our dear General sadly. In case you want to see him majorly engaging in the act of ass kicking, I highly recommend checking out the cartoon series as well :)
"You will never beat Grievous! Never!" Proceeds to get blasted by several padawans and gets killed by a man who has almost never used a blaster in his life
Technically the fight you see here is a rematch already. There was a fight prior to this in which Grievous was victorious against both Assaj Ventress and Durge. It appeared in a comic once I think.
@@croplaya I think even using the force to her best Ventress is without a chance against the real Grievous as you see him in the Cartoon. He moves far to quickly to even allow her a full use of her force potential. The General would stomp her in at least 9/10 situations without a doubt.
We see all these Maul, Vader, and Dooku Tributes, all get millions of views, but when it comes to Grievous tributes, they get almost nothing. Truly disappointing.
@Grievousnw Yeah, you’re right. But still, I just didn’t expect Grievous tributes to have so little views. I thought the overall fans se found him as badass as the others. If only. But still, you’re right.
Don't forget that Grievous neither had a very recent nor a very long history of appearances in Series and movies. If he was as prevalent and favourably displayed as Vader you'd probably see more people interested in him.

One great song for one great warrior, Grievous will be remembered as one of the most dangerous warriors in Star Wars
Grievous is my second favorite character, and this is a great tribute, but my god the irony of this song. XD

Wow! Badass video. Awesome song choice and editing. Great job!
Thanks. Cool to see someone discover and like an old video. ^^
Amazing, I really didn't know Skillet released a new album! This is so awesome!
Is the "awesome" refering to the Video or the song?
Both, especially the idea of using them together!

@@Grievousnw hahahah well i like the joke XD enjoying the show, on season 2, been looking up lore on Grievous and even bought comics on him.
Seriously AMAZING video and song 🙂🙏
Grevious may have been bad but I respect him
It's sad that they nerfed him into the ground when they made the movies
If Grievous survived the clone wars who do you think he would work for the empire or the rebels?
He would not fight for any, Grievous would fight either for the remnants of the CIS or simply for his home planet.
I think the emperor wants His death, because He only need him For the Clone wars, so He would send Vader to destroy the General 😢
Nice vid I love the song choice!
Thank you. ^^
