Awsome Transceiver I am currently using this with a home brew inverted V wire antenna in the loft and the Standard MH31 microphone and getting very good audio reports using the built in equaliser Receive on this radio is amazing at this price level the noise floor is almost Silent 10-10 for me
I am having trouble flashing the main firmware. know the USB serial port is install and working. Instructions say that you hold down up and down and then apply power, then use the software to update. I keep getting a com port error but it's all set correctly. How did you do it? What keys did you hold down? - Thanks

The Dx-3000-D is the latest version of the radio with all the software updates etc. done from the factory. I have one, and there is an addition 'D' sticker added to the shipping box after 3000..... Hope that helps.
Im using sp-8 and the antenna is a heax beam. All info and files for update the rig is in yaesu website. If you can't download the files or have anyone empty, email me and I will send it.
i really love the look however a great radio repair wizard who has been repairing for 36 years tells me stay away as he has at least 3 a month come in and many he cant repair nor can west coast usa main branch for yaesu other wise id have one
