Try 32 inches. I think that will work for most of these, though it may produce some waste. When you do a pattern for the first time, take note of how much cord you have left.

Vaut il mieux utiliser des cordes de 3mm ou bien des cordes de 2,5 mm svp pour les petites suspensions ,j ai du mal à serrer les noeuds

You don't mention anywhere in this tutorial the length or the type/ply of string/cord you are using ... making this tutorial useless to beginners who would not even be able to guess at length & type you used
