Thanks a lot bro. I literally watched 4-5 videos on youtube for the palo alto vm installation but nothing worked. I followed your method and everything worked like a charm. I just have a request to please make a video on how to install kali and use it to test palo alto firewalls. I think there is not a single video on youtube for the testing of PA using kali linux. Really good video!!!! Works on Workstation 15.5 pro and Panos 9.1.9, side note in this version of Panos you have to change the default admin password or you will get stuck in a loop of changing passwords.

The "clue" for the DMZ access to Outside is a bit misleading...The problem is not a Nat missing policy, it is a Security missing policy, i forgive you because your video has just helped me sooooo so much. thanks a lot bro!!! :) x 10000

I get PA-HDF login, it is not changing, what is the minimum memory and HDD requirement to install Palo on VMware workstation
Whenever I set up the PA VM on VMWare it says the Firewall tried to activate promiscuous mode on the two custom interfaces but was blocked. Is this required?

Recently I requested an Eval image of Palo alto when I install it in vmware pro 16 after boot it shows an error "Bits 55-60 of /proc/PID/pagemap entries are about to stop being page-shift some time soon".
And after that message it says " stopping pan software" and the VM machine stopped, I start the VM again and it still showing the same message and stop working.
Any help on that, please?

I am unable to ping the pa inside interface from the tiny linux machine, i have also enabled the ping in management profile and applied it to inside interface. Please help me

I just reconfigure a new palo for lab use and eth1/3 not coming up like yours its red but in vmware I see the 192.16.4.254/24 ip on the int.
Hey Rohan, I've just taken a look at my config, the first network adapter in the list in VMware Worksation are set to Bridged (Automatic) for DHCP from my home router.
Network adpter 3 is set as a custom:specfic virtual network VMnet3(host only) device status "connected" is ticked and "connect at power on" is ticked. In the firewall WebUI check that eth1/3 is set to a layer3 interface , assign to a Virtual Router and security zone and commit. If the interface is still down perform a reboot. Let me know how you get on.

Hi Elie, did you use ping to test connectivity? Can you see any traffic in the traffic logs?
I have got my TC working and passing traffic via the PA, only problem is when I restart the TC VM it looses the static IP.

I have imported PA-VM-ESXI-9.0.11. When I try to login with admin/admin, it says login incorrect. Sometimes it works and asks me for old password, new password, confirm password, and then goes back to PA-VM login. When I try to login again, it asks the same. It is like a loop.
Yep, is the same behavior for me. When you enter, try to add another user with admin privileges and test access in the next time.
You have to wait 10 minutes after booting up the VM. Then when you enter the admin admin credentials, change the password to something complex, like for example "eX@mple123"

Hey D.S if you have a Palo Alto Networks support account you can download the OVA for free from the support website.
Apps -- nano, vlc, and lxterminal are failing to install. wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found. All of the other apps load just fine.
I was able to download vlc3 instead of vlc. Also, downloaded a different editor and terminal. Your video was very helpful and I appreciate this tutorial!
